Now rather than filling a little star-shaped rock chip, I'm replacing the entire windshield. To be fair, I'd forgotten about the rock chip when the car went through the car wash. If you need to replace a windshield or fill a rock chip, you can book an appointment easily online with Safelite. Very efficient and fast service. We were there before the place opened, just before 8 a.m. on a weekday, as the appointment was at 8. Do you need new wipers? They have them. Do you also need a special coating on your new windshield, so that water just runs off it, they got it. Just pay more. They are probably competitive to other places for new windshield wipers unless you do them yourself. We waited for the car in the waiting room, but they didn't take long to have the new windshield in place. We were advised not to go through a car wash with the new windshield for the next 24 hours. No worries there.

I arrived early for my appointment and their technician got me checked in right away. They did not seem super busy so he swiftly started on my vehicle and it was done in around half an hour. The workmanship was great but the customer service was somewhat less. While it's a fact that they do this all the time, I almost never need auto glass work yet they seemed to expect me to have expert level knowledge of my car's glass and my auto insurance policy. The scheduler Teri was fairly terse in her interactions with me. I felt validated in my assessment when I overheard her on the phone with another customer (it's a very small office). Definitely use this place for your auto glass needs but check your expectations at the door.
