First time eating dining here. There are so many options it can be a little overwhelming. Hannah took great care of us. She simply said, "give me your menus, and trust me!" How do you argue with that? It was fantastic!!! Appetizers of humus, baba ganousch, stuffed grape leaves, stuffed olives and salads. Then for the entree a family style of lamb chops, chicken, kebobs, grilled vegetables, rice pilaf and so much more. It was ALL cooked perfectly and delicious. Hannah took great care of us. Even suggested a great dessert and coffee- and we had 3 boxes to take home. The service was very good. Attentive waiting, perfect order taking, and food delivery was efficient. Price was very reasonable. The ambiance was lovely: great mellow music and quiet enough we could easily converse. But the food was the star of the show. Ample servings of fresh salad, moist and tender rice, delicious hummus and bread, and the best gyro I've had in San Antonio. The meat was tender, plentiful and well-seasoned. And, at that point she had the menus in hand so we couldn't check. Instead of paying $55 she up charged us to $75 and that's just the entree! I don't know who lied to me but Chef's Table & Turkish Delight was a massive let down. Service was near nonexistent, did not get drinks till after our luke warm meal was served. They do have tap water to serve but push bottle water. Food was ehh at best. Protein overcooked. The desserts were over priced and bland. This place was phenomenal! Established very pleasant just upon walking in and the service was great. The food is the best Turkish food I've definitely had in the city. One of my top restaurants in San Antonio. We try to multitude of food options here and they're all good but the food that shines is the doner gyro meat both the lamb and chicken. Hard to find me that quality and flavorful here in the city. The restaurant is decorated beautifully too. Now as for the desert shop, I would give it a 3/5. We tried a bunch of various desserts. The cookie selections were somewhat dry and were good but probably would not order again. The biscotti cheesecake was an average slice of cheesecake, saved by the biscotti butter slathered on top. The pistachio cake was amazing, give props there, but the tiramisu was disappointing and the whole flavor profile was off along with the texture. Maybe next time we will try more kd the traditional Turkish/Mediterranean desserts. read more

Helotes location: NO, NO, NO!!! For starters, they sneak in "bottled water" fee, when you ask for water. Since I already knew that going in, and I did not want to pay for "microplastics found in bottled water, I asked for tap water in a cup. older woman (wait staff) rudely stated, IF YOU WANT WATER, THEN, I WILL GO TO BATHROOM FOR IT." WOW!!! I guess they don't have water in the kitchen and use "bathroom water" for washing their plates, cutlery, vegetable, etc...??? And don't ask for unsweetened tea or (again) with raised voice, you will get, "WE ONLY HAVE SWEET TEA!" I guess they get asked for unsweetened tea too often for their liking and a sensitive subject??? Ok, this place was a hard NO for me. read more

First time trying Mediterranean foods, the sharable platter was perfect, variety of foods to eat. The ambiance is great, love the culture feel of it. There is also a coffee house you can purchase desserts and coffee once your done with dinner. It's so beautiful. People were very polite. Can get a little noisy with it being a small place and everyone sits close to each other. Still had a lovely time. Will be going back soon. This place is amazing and very beautiful inside! I went with my family for a bday dinner and our server, Ana was phenomenal! She was super friendly and attentive and was willing to accommodate us for having such a large party. She also made some great recommendations and I loved how she explained the menu to us. The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered the mixed grill with lamb chops which was suggested by Ana and it had all of the meats, rice, and salad! It came with a scoop of rice, a salad, and a mixture of meats including a small hamburger type patty, 2 small kebab pieces of chicken and steak. The chicken didn't have much flavor and the steak was hard to cut and chewy. There was also a shredded type of chicken and lamb/beef mix. It was all dry and lacked flavor. Very disappointed. Let's start with drinks. Ordered hot tea. We were wild we needed to go next door to order hot tea. We did and were told they had no sugar or honey. Odd since it's a bakery and coffee shop. They found some sugar on the restaurant side. When the hot tea came it was lukewarm and only 1 cup. Restaurant side was pushing the $2 bottle of water. Ordered the doner sandwich but was told only available m-f lunch. So ordered the Doner pide and the lamb and beef doner plate. Before entrees came, they did bring out a basket of bread with 3 pieces and hummus. Food came out. Pide was good and hot from the oven. Doner plate was ehh. Meat and rice were warm. Salad was good. Excellent find. The food was very enjoyable and plates filled with yumminess. I absolutely love gyros and the beef and lamb was on point. Was afraid I was going to eat too much bread before the meal got to the table but I paced myself by going to the dessert and coffee bar. They have plenty of awesome desserts that I did not get to try but will plan a return trip so that I can try their pistachio cheesecake. I know the amount of work required to make a pistachio cheesecake so can't wait to try it. If you like desserts you need to swing by and try some of the many different treats they have. I had a Turkish coffee but didn't get any sweets because the gyro wrap was huge. My mom had the chicken in which it came with a good portion of rice, salad, and moist and flavorful chicken. Great job overall. The one downside is only 1 person working the floor but she did a great job taking care of everyone there. Can't wait to return and be ready with my phone...forgot it in the car so took no pictures. read more
