Couch to gather& share foods and fellowship!
    Aida P.

Small restaurant in a strip mall off Evers and Wurzbach. Don't let the location fool you! Fresh food and nice ambiance! They've been there for 12 years! (How have I missed out?!) There's a huge couch that people can gather in groups and share food and fellowship! Such a great concept! Will definitely be back!!

This was one of my first ventures into Syrian cuisine. Came here for breakfast after a morning hike and was blown away by the food. I'll be honest, my boyfriend ordered everything for us, but I enjoyed every bite from every plate. Staff was courteous and attentive. The atmosphere was quiet, friendly, and intimate. I'm looking forward to going back!

The food here is delicious! Definitely a place to go when you need a good home cooked meal. The atmosphere is quaint and there are loud groups at times but overall a really good business to support.

Food and service here is AMAZING!!!! You have to come here. The Turkish coffee is to die for. Authentic atmosphere & food. They made me feel so welcome and comfortable. We had Mandi chicken with cucumber/mint/yogurt salad, rice, mandi lamb, chicken schwarma & falafels. Can't recommend it highly enough. My son ordered out gyros previously and recommended it to me. I'll definitely eat here again and again!!!! Baba Ganoush looks fantastic. I'm trying it next time.

So let's start by saying. This is not a typical place to eat. If you are looking for service, this is not the place for you. So it took around 5 min for the person behind the counter to bring us menus & he just left them on the corner of the table. No smile, no Hi, no I'll be right back.... after 15-20 min the person from behind the counter (I believe the owner) showed up again to take our order. Took our order and left. Brought our drinks In 2-5 min. Soda cans only that didn't bother me (if you have any preference). Food didn't come together. We got our appetizers first tho. (2.5 stars) Atmosphere is quite, it almost looks like a hang out place for guys. Small place 25-30 max pushing. The only problem I will say, that if you have some ignorant customer who would make you uncomfortable. (3 stars) Food. So this is something that I was impressed. Appetizer were hot & tasted great. (Pita bread was in zip lock bag lol, was warm and not soggy. Don't have a problem with that as long as they were not microwaved) (so 4.5 stars on bread) I got my food in 10-15 min, took another 10-15 min for rest. Food was not warm but hot after 30 when everyone got their food my rice and chicken were still hot. Every thing tasted great. My family loved the food even my 5 year old loved it. (5 stars on food) ***7/16/19*** update Went with family for breakfast great experience. Food was fresh. Had a chance to chat with the owner. We had ordered the Breakfast Platter. Loved the tea. So will I come back to this place yes. Did i love the food yes. Service i can deal with. Now if I don't want to deal with the service make a pickup order.

I was not planning to review this because I was being selfish and I wanted this secret gem all to myself. Yeah, don't blame me. Being the first to review is a big deal and honestly during my to San Antonio, this is the only place I wanted to go. In fact, it was the only i place I went, (for breakfast at least). For ten dollars per person, you and your party will get a traditional arabic breakfast. Everything you can think of and more. Hummus, foul, olives, fresh pita and other dishes people might not know by name but rather by taste. The hot tea and this healthy yet filling breakfast is the perfect thing first thing in the morning. Too bad it opens at 10 am and not earlier. SORRY EARLY BIRDS! It's not the fanciest breakfast place in town but probably the most fresh, filling and bang for our buck you can find in Texas. I seriously want to transfer to UTSA from UT just so I can live in San Antonio and come here every day. The fact that there are nothing but arabs at this great arabic place just shows that it's authentic and tasty. I should mention it's closed on Mondays!

So it was our desire to get familiar with the cuisine, prior to the trip. Moroccan Bites was our choice and we couldn't have been happier we found it. The owner's daughter was our server and since she is from Marrakech, we took her suggestions on what to order. Not only was she extremely friendly, she took the time to prepare us for the culture we are about to experience and provided much needed help. For our meal, we went with an eggplant app and wifey and I ordered the Lamb couscous plus the Chicken Pastilla to share. The couscous meal was loaded with veggies, lamb and of course, couscous. The flavors were delicate and not overpowering at all. The Chicken Pastilla dish can pass for a desert with the cinnamon and powder sugar on top of a light pastry, just like a pie. It was my favorite entree of the night. Don't forget to try the mint tea. It's served hot and sweet and might actually give my Texas ice tea addiction a little competition. You shouldn't travel to a foreign land without trying their dessert options, or even travel across town as it was in our case. The glass display case caught our attention immediately, even before we sat down to look at the menu. We couldn't decide on what sweets to try, so we compromised and ordered several different kind of things. From the lemon cake to the Baklava, it was all very delicious. The Baklava is French like in its flaky texture and light enough to put down half a tray if given the chance. The inside of the restaurant is clean, has ample tables and is decorated in the country's cultural theme. Well, Moroccan Bites, thanks for a great meal and you have raised our expectations on what we are about to go through.
