We went as a walk-in on a Friday night and got seated immediately, which honestly surprised me. They have plenty of seating and I loved the decor. It's very cultural and added to the whole experience. Service was a bit slow, but it seemed like there was only one girl handling everything, so I get it. We started with pani puri and wow. It's a classic but the flavor here was next level. Easily one of the best I've had and definitely a top spot for me. For mains, we got the malai boti grill and chicken karahi. My husband would rate both a solid 9.5/10. I'm a Houstonian though, so my bar for grilled meat is pretty high and I'd say more like 8.5/10. Still really good overall. Definitely a solid go-to when you're craving authentic Pakistani food but I'm in Queens so I have so many more to try!

I didn't realize they have buffet every day, that was a pleasant surprise. It's been too long I had buffet. Altho I have realized I need a friend with me who eats good to try all the yummy items ! Next time ....! After some authentic Pakistani food I also tried firni ( rice pudding) one of my favorite dessert & it was yum! Then as a desi I can't end a meal without a cup of hot chai, so I tried the Kashmiri chai. It was my first time trying it & I am not a fan of it. But I know for a fact it's a delicacy from that region & I am happy for the chance of trying it. The service was great, would have been excellent but only one guy can't be taking care of everyone! I guss around evening time they have more people to help out. Hope at-least on the weekends they have extra help on lunch time . I also checked out the restroom , was specious & clean. Hope it stays this way in future! Thank you guys for an awesome experience, hope for the best. Keep up the great work.

The area is swamped with Bangladeshi, Nepalese, Pakistani and indian food and shops, and if you are out with a family, this may not be the place to go as there is absolutely no seating in there. This is strictly a take out place. The food is delicious, specially the chicken kababs. Their Haleem and Nihari also is probably the best in the area. The first time, I just walked in by accident just to see what this place was. After having a conversation with their main chef, he tempted me to try their Haleem as a taste test and the rest is history. From there on, whenever I am in Jackson heights, I pick up food from here. The cuisine and style is mostly from Karachi, the spice level is a bit on the higher side, but if you really want to exercise your taste buds, this is the place to go. Downside: Parking is tough in that neighborhood as it is so crowded. You may have to circle around to find parking at a bit distant.

The menu on the monitors keep rotating, so it's best to scan the QR code for the takeout menu for your sanity. You order your dishes through a staff behind the counter. Then you wait by the cashier for your order to get ready. There is no order number and they don't ask for your name, so it's really confusing if or when your order that is ready. You have to remember what you ordered because they're just calling out the dishes! We originally wanted to try Kofta Curry, but was told it's not available well after I finished placing the order. The exact same thing happened when we switched to Lamb Tikka. So the ordering was time consuming and stressful to say the least. We finally ended up with Beef Bihari and Lamb Biriyani. After a good amount of effort trying to track down when our food, I was finally able to pay for our meal. There are a few tables in the back. Once you pay and get your dishes, you can find a place to sit and consume your food. I have also seen people getting table service, but I have no idea how that works. As for the food, the Beef Bihari was extremely heavy in flavor and salty - almost like a moist version of beef jerky, and definitely required a lot of rice or bread to balance it out. The Goat Biriyani was better, but the meat was mostly bones and fat. Overall, we struggled to finish our meal. However, the owner was friendly and accommodating, so I am adding 1 star to the rating.

My review is based on two items sampled on separate occasions: pani puri and dahi puri are served as small plates of eight or nine small hors d'oeuvres-like snacks made up of complex layers of flavors. I'm no expert on this cuisine but understand its roots are street food that was so good it's often served in fine restaurants. To be sure, K2 is no fine dining establishment, and to come here expecting it is anything approaching that would be a mistake. It's a neighborhood dive, the front of the restaurant wide open, weather permitting, with questionable cleanliness and an interior that suggests no one is particularly concerned about the ambiance. I'm of the opinion not every food establishment needs to cater to those needs, so as long as the food is great, I'm in. Both dishes consist of a circular wheat-based, light, airy shell with the top removed, then filled with different ingredients. For both dishes the appeal is the complexity. Dahi puri is at once sweet, savory, salty, bitter and plenty of heat--a real sensory bomb. The combination (eat these in one bite!) rewards the palette nicely. For pani puri it's onion, cilantro, plenty of heat, garbanzos and possibly potato if memory serves. Again, a complex single bite that simply delights. Pair these with the Himalayan butter tea with it's salty & sweet taste and you once again have a complex experience. But to be sure, that tea is an acquired taste and many palettes will not agree with my assessment as to its pleasing taste. If you come: cash only, steps away from the #7 train and smack dab in the middle of the combined Tibetan, Northern Indian, Nepal, Bhutanese diaspora. Jackson Heights? Maybe Himalayan Heights.
