    Chicken samosa and veg samosa
    Gab G.

Popped in here as my first stop on a Jackson Heights food crawl! Chicken samosa was absolutely phenomenal. Veg was good but the chicken is definitely where it's at.

A great hole in the wall Indian restaurant that stands out above the rest in Jackson heights Queens. Their chicken samosa, chicken lollipop, biryani's, masala chai, and all the rest on their menu are super delicious and affordable. They have a second location further down the block that offers more seating.

Food here is flavorful and the prices very affordable. More than fair portions for the price too. It's a bustling space, tables to sit but quite a few of the tables are right next to the steam tables so you can't exactly walk right up and take a look. Still most is visible if you're tall lol. This place is filled with locals who you can tell know exactly what they want without even looking. Don't expect to find a seat immediately because the seating is far less than the constant flow of customers. My son and I waited around 10 mins, kind felt like we were starring at people just waiting for them to finsh eating so we could swoop in and snag a table. ( there's no host seating as this is a very casual spot). The server saw us standing and told me he'd take my order and reasurred me someone would be done eating soon. He was right, 2 minutes later we scored a table. Worked out perfectly cause our food was on our table 5 mins after. We got Chicken Samosa ( 2 generously stuffed slightly spicy ones ) 2.99 and piping hot. As a matter of fact, several times during our meal I observed kitchen workers walk by with trays full of Samosas ready for frying. My son got the spicy Tandoori wings , the char and spices were perfect. He immediately ordered more to go. I got the one of the combination meals- rice ,dhal , goat and potato (choice of veggies). Couldn't finish all the rice even sharing with my son. Very hearty portion. Got a nice cup of chai too, much needed as it was so windy and cold outside. All that came to a mere $21 . We ordered Chicken Biriani, Aloo Paratha, Garlic Nan, more chicken samosas and wings to go - $27. Man good food at these prices , amazing. If you get out at the correct entrance (accoring to City Mapper) you will be standing right in front the shop when you exit the subway stairs. Also noteworthy, this restaurant is sort of divided in 3 sections. At the very front is the take out section , you can order right from the front door area . Then there's the main dining area and then at the back there's actually another restaurant Merit Tashi Delek Dumpling Palace . Menu of momos, noodles ,fried rice and a whole other menu to explore. Come hungry.

My sister raves about this place for their vegetable samosas. They come in 2 pieces for $3, $1.50 each. The exterior is perfectly crispy and the filling is flavorful. The size of the samosas is HUGE and they also come with green chutney for each samosa. How thoughtful -- it's like preparing each samosa for success, guaranteeing that the flavors just explode in your mouth. We've also tried their chicken samosas, which are also great. However, the vegetable samosas are far superior imo. We haven't had anything else from here so note that this review is based on the samosas only. Samosa-wise, other places can't compete. They don't even include the sauce. Definitely 100% worth it for the price. Ladies and gents -- THIS is the samosa spot.

The staffs were friendly; the store is close to the E, F, R, and M line. I ordered chicken special biryani and beef momo. The chicken special biryani is a little spicy. There's places to sit inside. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5

This restaurant got much neater, lighter and cleaner after recent reopening. Me and my friends absolutely love the food here. We usually order garlic Nan, chicken tikka masala, goat curry, peas soup and fried eggplant. They sometimes give free peas soup upon request. The staff are quick to serve the food and give friendly service. Given the price, the food here is absolutely worth trying. Probably my favorite Indian restaurant in Queens.

This is a dive located near the subways and bridge in Jackson Heights. I was passing by and wanted chicken samosas which are my favorites. They had them and at $1.50 each was a steal. I bought two to take out. I ate them at home and they tasted average but were oily as the bag was soaked. For a quick snack it isn't bad but I wouldn't want to sit down and eat here.

I went here late August 2023. The place was packed and it is structured like a cafeteria-style set up. It was one of the first spots me and my friends tried on our self-led Queens food tour based on the borough's very own rapper/chef, Action Bronson, and the restaurants he featured there on his Vice show "F*CK That's Delciious". And YEAH it was delicious. the cilantro chutney is bright green (like Nickelodeon slime type of green) but so pungent.

This review is only for their chai and their samosas. It's such a busy place that I was a little intimidated by their menu so I stuck with those two things. But goodness what a great choice I made. The chicken samosa was superior- really nicely spiced and fat with meat. So plump- juicy and crispy. I did enjoy the vegetable samosa as well but the chicken was the clear winner. The chai was nice and smooth though I wish it was a little stronger in the green cardamon. Just make sure to double check how much they charge you- I think they over charged me when I went my first time so just kindly ask them how much the item is before you order to make sure there's no confusion. I'll be back to try more things.

A very local go-to restaurant for quick pick-up. Checked their reviews and can tell they are here for quite a while. A Bangladeshi quick food and kebab place. A bit puzzled when first walked in and had no idea how to order at the beginning. But the staff was nice. Ordered the palak paneer. Compared to other restaurants I tried in Jackson Heights they added tomato and were less creamy. A bit too spicy but tasted yummy. I also tried the chicken Kebab, which was juicy. It was roasted well, smelt great. I microwaved it when eat it was still yummy and bouncy. The price is affordable. Gotta try!!!

Absolutely LOVE this place. Any trip through LGA to the city is a must stop via the E train, the Q70 or the Q47 (block away). Huge variety. Always hot. Always good! Bit of a dive with limited seating, but the service is always spot on.

Pros: seated quickly, ambiance was lovely, appetizers came out quickly, the Lasuni Gobi was delicious. CONS: My husband and I waited 40+ minutes for our main dishes (dal + rice and the Paneer Tikka dish) to arrive....... And we watched the people who were seated AFTER us receive their MEAT dishes before we got our ours and we most definitely ordered first. We asked our server MORE THAN ONCE what was taking so long and we got the same answer each time "I've told the kitchen to hurry, it'll be out soon" To make matters worse, the person who brought us our dishes (maybe the chef? Maybe the manager?) brought them without the naan that we ordered. When I asked, "where's our naan?" He had the audacity to rudely say "it'll be out in a few minutes", as if we hadn't already been waiting 40+ minutes for vegetarian food that I could've whipped up myself in 20 minutes. His attitude towards us was so unacceptable considering the circumstances. We have absolutely no idea what happened or why it took so long for our simple dishes to arrive. It's especially perplexing considering that the people who came in AFTER us got their meat dishes first. The server apologized and decided to bring us some kulfi (ice cream) to try to make up for it, but we try to avoid eating sugar so that was useless. I felt bad for the server because it wasn't his fault that our food took a ridiculous amount of time to make it to our table, and it's not cool that a manager never stepped in to try to reconcile. As someone who waited tables for 8+ years, I was shocked at the lack of support this server received from his management team. The dal and paneer tikka dishes were average tasting at best (and overpriced), making another trip here completely unfathomable, most especially considering how we were treated. Note to management: do better. Support your staff and step in to reconcile with unhappy guests if this happens again.

We kicked things off with the lamb spring rolls, which aren't something you see on every Indian menu. They came out crisp, well-seasoned, and paired with a cool cucumber raita that balanced the spice nicely. Not life-changing, but definitely a fun and solid opener. For my main, I leaned into a random lamb craving and ordered the lamb vindaloo--and this is where Seva really delivered. Deep, rich flavor with a satisfying level of heat that doesn't hold back but also doesn't overwhelm. The lamb itself was tender and clearly given the time it deserved. Taking over for another desi-owned spot (#1) several years ago, they've done a much better job of capturing an audience by focusing on a niche of Goan inspired foods, along with a slew of classic Indian dishes that span from north to south. The interior is modest and quaint, and a one bright / memorable outdoor setup during the pandemic. The restaurant is not big, but they've managed to cram in a good number of tables to make it place for 30 folks. Takeout and delivery are also very popular, and I've been fortunate to have had all of the above. Some immediate standouts: goan fish curry, xacuti curry, and the caldeen curry are quite excellent and all come from the Indo-Portuguese side of the menu, which are all loaded with flavor. Additionally, the tandoori selection (especially the chicken malai, seekh kebab, and methi salmon) and variety of curries (rogan josh, korma, jalfrezi, makhani, etc.) are also very flavorful. As with many other Indian places, especially ones that cater to the southern palate, there is an excellent vegetarian selection. The saag chana is one of my go-tos, but the peeli dal, bhindi masala, gobi manchurian over their lemon or tomato rice all merit a big thumbs up. Ownership has likely changed since their initial start, which explains why the staff and "family owned" management has all gotten different looks before and after the pandemic. The other major issue has been pricing, which definitely feels premium at $21-23, for portions that sometimes feels like the size of a hockey puck. The product is still good and the pickins in Sunnyside (#2) are slim, so I realize that for some people, this is the only (Indian) game in town. ___________ (#1) Biriyani House: https://www.yelp.com/biz/biriyani-house-sunnyside (#2) Unless of course, we're counting all the Nepalese spots that also serve Indian cuisine.
