Everything here was good. Not much to be said to be honest. If you look at who's eating here, it is all ethnic people, and a ton of older people as well. That should tell you that this place is definitely authentic. I enjoyed every single dish that I had here; I was recommended to eat at this place by a Bangladeshi friend. I was not disappointed. My favorite dishes were the samosas and the chicken lollipops. The chicken lollipops were an Indo-Chinese sort of dish with a savory sauce a crunchy exterior. The samosas were perfectly seasoned and slightly crispy. Tandoori chicken was also excellent and well-seasoned throughout the outside and interior. The only fault I could really find was that the biriyanis did not have too strong of a flavor profile, but that is to be expected since it is more so a vessel to eat with the other dishes, which were all amazing. Atmosphere could technically improve but I could care less if they have excellent food. I really have no complaints about this place. Upstairs was packed but we were able to eat downstairs and enjoy our large meal. I will definitely remember this spot.

Ordered: 1pc Roast Chicken (~$6) Small Kacchi Biryani with Goat (~$18) Plain Naan (~$2) Aya's take: We were in the mood for something flavorful, filling, and soothing and decided to check out Boishakhi. Off the bat, you can tell this is a locals spot because most people inside were Bangladeshi. All the food is laid out in front of you and I will say everything looked super clean. A regular standing in line with us walked us through what the dishes were and recommendations for first timers. We decided to get the Small Kacchi Biryani with Goat which is only available on weekends. The rice was fluffy, flavorful, and aromatic. The goat was tender and well-seasoned but there wasn't that much of it. The spice is super moderate but if you can't handle spice, the Raita they serve on the side will help with that. I loved the Roast Chicken! It tasted like something your grandmother would make. It was comforting, savory, but very greasy. It didn't need nearly as much oil. It also went well with the biryani rice. They automatically add a 15% tip to your bill if it's over $25 which makes no sense, to be honest. It would be great if they labeled their dishes so non-regulars would know what's what. Otherwise, good try!

We took a long drive from NJ to try out some native Bengali food at this restaurant, specially since they made Kacchi (goat) biryani on Saturday. Upon arrival, the first impression is really great, as there are sooo many dishes on display, easily more than 50 items, in different colors and textures. I was pretty mesmerized to see the whole range of items. We ordered a variety of items, chicken lollipop, beef resala, kacchi biryani, chicken biryani, halim and kababs. After the order they heat up the items and bring them to the table. Sadly I wasn't impressed with any of the items. Seemed to me the authentic taste wasn't there, items were made to tone down the spice and flavor of the dishes. Kacchi was also a lot spicy than we expected. All the meat, specially the beef, was mostly dry and hard to chew. But I Iiked the rice in biryanis. Halim was very chunky, I was expecting ingredients to be well mixed and a smoother curry. The first floor tables are decent but the tables and booth in the basement are not in their best shape. The basement area needs some patch up and cleaning to make it more appealing to guests.

Really affordable spot in Astoria! This was my first time having Bangladeshi cuisine, and I'm glad I chose this spot. The samosas are delicious and spicy, and only $2 a piece! I tried the ruhi fish curry with my friend, and although the employee recommended it, I think all the fishes have too many bones. Cleanliness wasn't great as my friend found a hair in the food.

I met with my friends here for dinner. The place is spacious as it has a basement seating area also. I appreciated that they had a clean restroom on both levels. They also had a enclosed place for handwashing only. They had a lot of options to choose from like rice based dishes, kebabs, tandoori chicken, mashed dishes (bhorta), dried fish delicacies (shutki), and more. We ordered a bunch of dishes (2 of each) to try. As an outsider, the halal food was also appreciated . We got the goat biryani, beef tehari, chicken bihari kebab, moglai parata, chicken lollipop, and mango lassis. The two best items we liked were the goat biryani and the chicken bihari kebab. The meat on this dishes were really soft, moist, and flavorful. The beef in the tehari I thought was a bit tough and dry, instead of tender. It was nice of them to include a glass of borhani (savoey, spiced yogurt drink) along with the tehari order. The mango lassis were fine, nothing extraordinary. I did not care for the chicken lollipop. I guess chicken lollipops should stick to being small and not overly big like the ones we ordered here ($3 each). The service was very attentive and quick, so props to the staff for that. I would go here again.

Haven't had much Bangladeshi food before so was looking forward to trying some out. It was a bit tough to order since there were so many options and no labels by each food to know which were which. It was a bit difficult to understand the person making my plate but eventually I was able to get what I hoped for. The price was definitely steeper than I had expected. The food was just alright; the biryani was a bit bland. I had high hopes, but I don't think I'll be back.

Ordered delivery through GrubHub. The beef bihari kabab was absolutely top notch! I mean look at those burn marks! Outstanding! The chicken behari and some special kabab I'm not sure what its called was tasty as well. The shukti bhorta was excellent. The quality of all the items felt fresh and prepared authentically. Would eat here again.

Today I dropped by and had their lunch special which included a small side and an entree. I chose the vegetable samosa and the Kerala vegetable curry. We kicked things off with the lamb spring rolls, which aren't something you see on every Indian menu. They came out crisp, well-seasoned, and paired with a cool cucumber raita that balanced the spice nicely. Not life-changing, but definitely a fun and solid opener. For my main, I leaned into a random lamb craving and ordered the lamb vindaloo--and this is where Seva really delivered. Deep, rich flavor with a satisfying level of heat that doesn't hold back but also doesn't overwhelm. The lamb itself was tender and clearly given the time it deserved. This dish alone would bring me back. Service was attentive without hovering, and the pacing of the meal felt just right--no awkward gaps, no rushing.

The restaurant felt homey and I could tell there were many regulars and other return visitors, for good reason! Ordered: Masala Chai ($4.50)- this tasted authentic, was nicely spiced, and wasn't too sweet. I only wish the cup was bigger. Steamed momo ($12+)- I like how you have the option to mix and match. We ordered the mixed vegetable and the oyster mushroom and surprisingly I much preferred the oyster mushroom variety. The mixed vegetable momo tasted more earthy to me. Himalayan rice set ($20.5)- this was a very nice assortment- there was rice, lentil dal, your protein of choice- (I chose beef brisket), stir fried cabbage, broccoli rabe, pickled vegetables and crisp flatbread. The only downside in my opinion was that the brisket wasn't too tender and I didn't love the beef flavoring or preparation. The rest of the items were so delicious!
