If you're looking for quality food, definitely would not recommend especially this is not authentic Chinese food. The fish tasted smelly like it's starting to go bad. I was excited for the eel, but it also was cold and tasted smelly and they do not refill unless you specifically ask for it. Some of the crab were ok but not too much meat. I take my kids here a couple times a month. I usually don't enjoy the sushi at a buffet like this but they make some high quality and tasty stuff. Buffet with an assortment of options ranging from meats/seafood to fried rice/lo mein to sushi to various desserts/fruits. For the price they offer, it was pretty reasonable. The staff was quick to seat my friend and I and they were also aware/frequently refilled our drinks without us asking through-out our meal. This is the second time I've eaten at this location. The first time it has been a while, but I remember it being better. First of all the smell was awful. It smelt like wet dog, so it made the whole experience even worse. All of the chicken dishes that were sauced were very soggy and some of them didn't really even have much meat. It was just the breading. The sweet-and-sour chicken was extremely tough and seemed like it had been refried. The only thing that I enjoyed was the eggroll, which still wasn't the best that I've had the lo mein and the fried rice was good, but very low on the list of my favorite fried rice. Worthwhile Chinese buffet. Consistently good food in clean, inviting surroundings. Dishes are fresh, well-prepared, varied, and, of course, a good value for the money. My dear old dad and I enjoy eating here together when I visit him. The staff are always kind to him (and to me). The avocado cream cheese sushi is worth the visit, as is the fried flounder and the layered espresso mousse cake for dessert. They also have a chocolate fountain and a soft serve machine, in addition to a freezer full of single-serve ice cream and ice cream sandwiches. I don't know if it has been under the same ownership for that long, but I took my kids there when they were in high chairs, and we went there today when they came back to town from college. Found this little GEM on the way back home from Dulles Airport. Food was absolutely amazing. Fresh and delicious. Fried food was crunchy and variety of seafood and all the food was beyond my expectations. Sushi was creative also. Love this place, wish it was closer to home. New management and they've sunk to 'okay'. The restaurant got a well needed facelift so it looks much less 'divey' but the food went downhill. I find it interesting that years ago when the furniture was fixed with duct tape and coasters the place was packed but now that it's all new the food is mediocre and it's not as swinging. I don't know if it's a covid distribution/suppliers/recovery thing but the food has changed. There seems to be an unusual amount of seafood suddenly. For some reason the pot stickers are gone and I know they were popular. With no pot stickers I have no reason to go there. They were my favorite. The price went up to $15 a plate. Very good quality and cleanliness. My very favorite Chinese buffet. The food tastes diggers for different items, and not all the same.

I frequently visit this restaurant and aside from the disturbing nasty disgusting restroom, the food has been very good. I come to get a meal after a long day at the doctors and ordered dinner for my family. when I got home I had what wasn't ordered and it looked like someones leftovers. I call to complain the next day when I was feeling a bit bette, and they refused to make my order good because I didn't call the same day. I have been patronizing this establishment for over 5 years and I am ashamed and appalled at this service. Make sure you check your order before leaving or you too may be denied the food a service you deserve. I am a regular customer that come in to eat at Chef Lin's Buffett but today I was very disappointed that the restaurant didn't honor a coupon that was good until 2/29/24 for the lunch buffet that included a free soda for $11.99. The manager said the owner is not going to honor the coupon because they increased the prices after they signed up for the advertising. Then the manager said the other customers that also brought in the coupon were all ok with paying the extra $1and I told her by law they have to honor it but she said she wouldn't. Imagine how many people they didn't honor a coupon that they should have. The principal is that if you have a coupon that you advertised you need to honor it. You have just lost a customer for life because I will not come back due to the principal that you should have honor the coupon you advertised. read more

They are taking COVID very seriously with extra precautions like serving for you, covering the food completely, disposable plates and cups etc. everything we tried was good. First time visiting this establishment, and I'm absolutely not disappointed. I ordered our for pick up. I live 6 mins away. Our food was piping hot and fresh. The quantity was enormous. My Sweetie ordered the Beef & Chicken Hibachi in Mongolian sauce and Lo Mein. I took advantage of their Combo for $9.99 and it was plentiful. I had the fried chicken wings, General Tso chicken, and Mongolian beef. It was all excellent as well as the egg rolls. The staff was very friendly. The price was very reasonable. We'll easily eat on this for 3 days. read more

Still the best buffet in town. Their sushi selection has improved in the years since my last review. The cream cheese filled varieties are still available but they've really expanded their repertoire and offer other choices. My 10 year old stepdaughter especially likes coming here for the spiced shrimp. Her only complaint is that they are served cold but again, she's 10. Kids are weird. Been coming here for years! Owners and staff are very friendly . Always welcoming. Whether it's take out or done in , always great food. Always busy. Wonton soup is excellent . Sushi is amazing . My little girl always asks for eel and he will make it for her and bring it out. ( she's a regular around here ) ha! I love their salt pepper shrimp.. Green beans , seafood bake.. The list goes on. I'm being generous with my 3 stars because if you come here and don't realize in advance that a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet in a dirty strip mall is going to be gross, that's your fault not theirs. That said, this place is slightly below par for the genre. The positives are an exceptional selection and they get an A for effort for attempting a lot of exotic seafood and dim sum dishes. On the downside, the food was mostly bland. The star fried chicken dishes of most Chinese buffets - general tsos, orange and sesame chicken - were soggy, undersized and tasteless. The maki was OK if you only know grocery store quality sushi, but eating rolls at a place like this is a great way to lose interest in Japanese cuisine. I didn't try their many seafood selections because I could smell them. Rancid fish odor is common in Asian markets, but if you're used to fresh Maryland-style seafood, it's enough to make you vomit. Overall the best feature is their hibachi grill (some reviews refer to this as Mongolian BBQ). You choose the ingredients and the quantities and they sizzle it up. The food in this section seemed slightly fresher than everything else, but in the end it was still underwhelming. Of course my experience could have also been influenced by the drab out-dated cafeteria like surroundings and the coughing, hacking and sniffling working class families that frequent this place for a cheap night out with the kids. Best Asian buffet I have found in Frederick. The food's pretty good, the nigiri has good amounts of flesh on the rice ball and the fish is tasty. So I like the sushi bar. They have lots of choices on the buffet and the food is good (considering it's a buffet). I like the oysters on the half, and chilled cooked mussles as the mussles are not tough at all. They have small pieces of steak that is good compared to other buffet's. they have those small clams, some blue crab in shell, fried fish that is pretty good. Plus some pork ribs that are ok (I am picky about fatty ribs and will not eat them but the ribs here are ok.) There are lots of various styles of chicken (general tsos, honey, and sesame along with teriyaki. etc...) I like this place better than that larger place over on route 40 west of 15.
