We had the most amazing day learning to cook paella with Chef Ingrid! This was a milestone birthday celebration activity, and Chef Ingrid made it special and personal. We learned the proper way to cut vegetables, the right ingredients to use, and how to make it all come together in a mouth-watering dish. We also made a delicious chocolate moose with heath bar crumbles on top that just melted in your mouth for desert. I'm sorry I didn't get a photo of that. Ingrid absolutely blew me away! Our wedding plans changed on us last minute, leaving me only 2 weeks to re-plan the entire event. I found Ingrid on google and quickly booked her to cater our wedding party of 25 people. Our first conversation on the phone was fast, thorough, and left me feeling secure and excited about the meal! She had so many delicious ideas and was amazingly proactive, especially given such a short amount of time. She built my entire menu for me, including a mouth watering 100% gluten free dinner with steak, salmon, roasted finger potatoes, green beans, and caesar salad (with gf croutons!). Absolute Perfection! A celebratory event we'll remember for ever! For our anniversary I arranged for Chef Ingrid to come to our home, even during COVID, to prepare a special meal for us. After all, no restaurants were allowing dining in, and this seemed like a unique and somewhat extravagant way to celebrate and enjoy a great meal. Ingrid seemed pleasant, unpretentious, and knowledgeable when we discussed a seafood menu (my wife's favorite cuisine). Her creative ideas popped forth from my basic answers about preferences, making for a delicious and and special menu, far above anything I had dreamed of. On THE day, she showed up on time, with a big box of ingredients carried in by her husband, who stayed and assisted. We supplied the wines, champagne with the crab cakes appetizer, a 10. Chardonnay with a fantastic green salad dressed with a most delicious citrusy dressing, also a 10. A seafood chowder was next, rich and creamy and filled with perfectly cooked seafood (crab, scallops, fish, etc.), 10+. We switched to A lovely Pinot noir with our perfectly prepared sea bass atop a generous portion of lusciously creamy and delicious spinach/mushroom risotto. Completely satiated, we pushed away from the dining table, just as Craig (husband/assistant), served a light (thankfully), wonderful dessert of sorbet w/fresh berries in a martini glass. Perfect! During prep., Ingrid was relaxed, engaging, informative. Her food was amazing, prepared with a casual elegance that made us comfortable, yet pampered and served at a proper pace, beautifully plated and ultimately delicious! Our dining experience was unique, memorable and well worth the price, which was just a tad more than one would pay in a fine dining restaurant, and far above anything offered in the Bend area. I was recently gifted a week of Chef Ingrid's amazing cooking while I was recovering from surgery. It was such a fantastic gift. We received breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ingrid was fantastic about working with me to provide both healthy and delicious options that were low in sugar and included dairy alternatives like coconut milk.
