A special treat for a special day. Thanks to Chef Geoff, we enjoyed a delicious Valentines Day Brunch and Dinner. They even delivered out to us on an icy day. There was so much food for both the Brunch and Dinner packages that this could have easily fed 4 people. In addition to the pancakes and Frittata, there was a strawberry smoothie and a loaf of banana bread. All were delectable! The dinner consisted of a huge mixed green salad, a lobster pot pie (yummy), BBQ ribs, asparagus tips with hollandaise and a red velvet cake for dessert. All was packed very securely and boxed up very nicely for transit. The heating instructions made for a perfect and easy way to fully enjoy such a great treat. We will definitely do a take out from CG again! read more

Have been to this CG's several times before but always sat indoors. Now with the pandemic still ongoing opted to sit outside and for the first time noticed how nice the patio actually is. It's on a raised terrace shared with one other restaurant and a small grocery store (Wagshal's) but CG's tables took up most of the space. All the tables have umbrellas and there are also a lot of trees around providing a very pleasant and shaded environment. We came here for lunch during restaurant week and it was one of the busier places I've been to since the reopening. The RW menu here is one of the most extensive as the entire menu is on offer instead of just a few choices. We had watermelon gazpacho (sweet and refreshing), calamari (very tender), spicy Caesar (probably should be called southwestern Caesar as there are beans and corn) which is one of the best I'd had, delicious Baja fish tacos, crab cake sandwich (lump crab meat and a good size), cherry crumble, raspberry/mango sorbet (3 big scoops!) which was perfect on a 90 degree day. Now that I saw how nice the outdoor seating here is, will have to come back here more often - luckily it's more or less in our neighborhood and easy to get to. read more

Stopped in randomly for the first time tonight on a recommendation. Food was solid. Vibe was good. Decent happy hour prices, esp for DC. What made this a hard 5 out of 5 was the bartender, Erin. Exemplary service! She was clearly busy working the bar and the tables in the bar area, and never seemed to break a sweat. She worked the room with a smile and happy to see you energy, never letting anyone sit long without a check in. Regulars came in knowing her name, Obv. I hope the venue owners know that supporting THIS kind of staff is where it's at because this level of service is what makes a restaurant/bar a place you want to return to....and take the time to write a nice review about :) read more

We can never get over how wonderful the staff is at Chef Geoff's. We just had lunch at the New Mexico Avenue restaurant where Izzy took such great care of us. And, of course, Corrina, whose smile lights up the room, goes the extra mile to make the dining experience extra special. Had a great Restaurant Week meal on 2/5/2025. Appetizer, entree, and dessert for $40! You get to choose options in all 3 categories from almost the entire Chef Geoff's menu and a can order a glass of wine as an appetizer or dessert! Our server Olivia was superb. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Checked back with our table frequently throughout the meal to ask if we needed anything. Promptly brought the check when we asked. UberEats review: This is typically one of go-to restaurants so I thought it would be ok to order some food from it via food delivery service. I assumed because of the great experience with SG that CG would be the same. NOT I ordered a cheeseburger, crispy calamari and a balsamic greens salad. The burger was overcooked, cheese was hard and the calamari...chile I don't know what that was. The only thing that was good was the balsamic greens (which of course you can't go wrong with that because it's just greens and dressing). I'm not sure what happened but I was very upset and annoyed that someone thought it was ok to serve to a customer. If the order is close to closing time, just cancel it and if it takes long for a driver to be found, make it over so that it's fresh. I am not opposed to dining in again because they're usually good but I'm not chancing it with a food delivery service. read more

I ordered food to go. The Cadillac Caesar which I have enjoyed for years was about half the size. When I opened the salad container I found all of two corn bread croutons included. They are still sending two containers of dressing which once was needed. It's so small now there is no need for two. Not worth the money now. read more

Easter Sunday lunch. My fiancée told me I would love it, and so I went reluctantly. Boy, was I glad I did! It was stupendous. We sat outside, right next to a special gas heater. The place was packed, but the service was quick and reliable. I ordered the Greek salad and the fried calamari. Both were excellent. My fiancée, the clam chowder and roasted chicken. Again, wonderful. As friendly as we were greeted on our arrival, so was our departure. Can it be simpler than that? Chef Geoff's sets the standard. read more

After my grandmother's funeral, my family enjoyed a delicious brunch at Chef Geoff's. It had been a difficult morning and I miscounted when I made reservations but our hostess quickly rearranged our seating area and easily accommodated our additional guests. Cooper was our server and his attentiveness and suggestions were greatly appreciated. At one point I dropped my utensils and before I knew it someone was by my side to quickly replace them. We decided to celebrate here on a Saturday evening after receiving news of a promotion at work. This was the perfect place for a last minute celebration. We were seated right away by a friendly host. The restaurant had a fabulous ambiance for a weekend evening-- wait staff bustling about while diners chatted happily and Christmas lights and decorations filled the corners of the rooms. We were seated in the back room, near a gigantic Christmas tree and were greeted quickly by our server. She brought us a bottle of Rose and answered all of our questions about the menu. We both decided to order pasta - as per our server's recommendation, and we were not disappointed! The tortellini was filled with tender short rib and the penne had a hearty and flavorful ragu. It was obvious that both pastas had been made in-house as they tasted very fresh. For dessert we split the cookie skillet sundae and could not have been happier with the ending to our meal. I ordered the Crispy Calamari appetizer. This calamari is crispy, crunchy, and fresh. For my entree, I ordered the Shrimp Scampi Linguine. The pasta is made daily at their sister restaurant Lias. This scampi was so good. The white wine butter sauce just made me want to take bite after bite. For dessert, I had the Peach Crumble which is almond and oat streusel served with salted caramel ice cream. I ate so much, I was genuinely stuffed. I also had left overs. Overall, Chef Geoff's is a great choice for lunch or dinner. read more

This place is a bit more formal for an American Diner. I went with my friends and we wanted indoor dining because it was cold, but the indoor dining was definitely a stark contrast from the outdoor dining they offer. The outdoor seating was nice and casual, with high strung lights everywhere, but inside, there's the white table cloths and a much calmer energy. I got the calamari and the American Burger. They were both really good, but I honestly expected more variety and more of a flavorful spin on the dishes they have, given it's a highly reputable restaurant. They definitely could have more fun with the dishes, but to the standard of an American diner, Chef Geoff's definitely places high. read more
