I can't believe it's taken me this long to try this place and I'm happy to report that it lives up to the hype! This is a great casual spot to grab a bite for lunch and they even serve beer! I ordered the bbq pork and Mac and cheese grilled cheese and it was bomb! The crust was a perfectly crisp and the sourdough bread tasted perfectly sour haha! The flavors were on point and I thought it was a great combination. I would come back to try other sandwiches and get an order of tater tots! I'm a little disappointed, I got the mushroom sandwich and though the flavors are really good, I can't believe that I paid almost $13.00 for a very small sandwich that didn't include anything else. Located in the middle of Orange Alley. Limited parking on the street or you can park in the covered parking lot less than a block away. This was our first visit here. My husband had been dying to try their cheese sandwiches. The place itself is rather small, but they really didn't need a large space because there were tables and chairs outside in the Orange Alley which is really beautiful on a sunny day and inside the building. We chose to sit indoors because it was raining He ordered the Caprese sandwich which was toasted with Monterey Jack cheese and tomatoes, then on the side, tatter tots and a drink with free refills (combo meal) and cheesy tatter tots for the teens. There was only one employee working and he texted me once the food was ready. It didn't take long before I was texted that the food was prepared. This was perfect for him because he's on lent. He loved how the cheese was stretching apart as he ate it. Of course he shared it with all of us and we too enjoyed the stretchy warm cheese with every bite. The serving size of the tatter tots was rather large so he couldn't finish it, but it was perfectly cooked. My teens enjoyed their cheesy fries as well. Overall, we love this cheese sandwich shop and would come back again. The employee told us that the opened back in 2017 and the owner bought the next place over that will be a bar to be opened this coming Monday. I'm interested to check it out too. To start, they have a good sourdough bread as their base. It's firm and strong enough to hold up all the fixings and sauces that their sandwiches carry. While you can taste the bite of the sourdough, it's not so strong as to overpower the sandwich. In and of itself, the bread has a good chew and all the sandwiches have a great grill crunch. Each sandwich has its own character, and the bread is an enhancer not the main feature. The Caprese is as Italian as it gets: green basil and arugula, white fresh mozzarella cheese and red tomato. All the ingredients are fresh and are pulled together with their tangy balsamic glaze. The Spinach Artichoke sandwich has provolone and shredded mozzarella with diced red onion. This is really a spinach artichoke dip sandwich - rich, creamy and gooey. The great garlic flavor enhances the warm of this sandwich. Its Mac & Cheese with BBQ beef, how can you go wrong here?? The flavors are an equal mix of staples of the BBQ and cheese. BBQ is slightly tangy which played off the mild mac & cheese. The Samosa was a 3 ring show stopper. The 3 sauces: the sour tamarind chutney was tangy, spicy with a bit sweetness, cilantro mint chutney was hot but not overpowering (the mint balanced the cilantro well), and the creamy cucumber yogurt was smooth and rich. As a tip, cut the sandwich into strips for better dipping. We liked the heat and tasting by starting with the sour tamarind and ending with the cooling cucumber. The PBC&J is a great take of the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The cream cheese, the "C" makes the peanut butter super creamy and smooth. The sweetness of the jelly just puts this over-the-top for a not too sweet dessert. read more

Lol The garlic tots were great until I got to the bottom. There was SO MUCH oil pooled at the bottom. No seating inside, located in downtown Redlands, the outside seating was nice though wasn't too hot because it's like in between two buildings and had nice umbrella decorations tied up. It was nice for photos. Me and my girl ordered 2 sandwiches, I got the jalapeño and she got the buffalo chicken, I think mine was fire and had a lot of jalapeños which I liked a lot, it was cheesy and crispy, but my girls was good BUT it felt like they didn't put enough chicken in it like it was all out on one side of the sandwhich. There were some parts that you bite and it was just bread. The fries were very basic, but weren't hot like it wasn't fresh out the fryer and have been sitting. The soda wasn't carbonated enough which was weird coming from a soda fountain. I've been hearing about this place for a long time, and I am so happy that I was able to try it while I was staying in Redlands for a few days. My housemates and I got this for lunch one day, just for pick up--and it was FABULOUS! We ordered a few things (see pictures!), and I got the jalapeno popper option in a sandwich--um, so delightful. The bread was toasted so well, and the cheese was just so superbly cheesy (along with the bit of spice). When I took the first bite, I knew I was going to eat this entire thing in a minute. So good. Luckily, I have nice friends, so they allowed me to try their BBQ Mac tater tots--and yes, it was macaroni and cheese with BBQ pork on tater tots. This is exactly what you get, sort of a weird sounding combo, but it the meat was so tender, the cheese was so tasty, and the overall combo was one of the best things I've tasted in a long time (one of the others being the jalapeno popper combo sandwich...). The BBQ Mac is delicious - the toast is the right amount of buttery and crisp. The beef is tender like a slow cooked meat and the whole sandwich just works together well. For the side Mac n Cheese, don't order it. It's not even a proper item on their menu - we just assumed a cheese themed place would be able to make it well, but it's meant to be comboed with toppings and not standalone by itself. Thus it's a dry Mac n Cheese without much flavor (no salt no herbs no breadcrumbs). I'm going to give this place a pass because, again, it's not a proper menu item to just order a side Mac n Cheese. I went tonight with some friends, some blonde lady working register was very non approachable and not friendly from the start. All spend an appropriate amount of money and when we had asked for extra BBQ sauce she made it seem like a chore. I had asked a question and sat in silence and when one of her co workers asked if she had heard me, she responded with "No Im not listening". I saw the chef and one of her employees making food with their masks off their mouths talking to each other :( So not cool during these times. He came out saw us with our masks on then put his on. So it seems that they are not taking this Virus seriously. I almost left without the food, but then felt bad because it was a big pricey order. The thing I noticed when ordering the first time was that M was unreasonably quiet. I am a musician of 14 years and my hearing frankly sucks, so it was incredibly frustrating trying to relay my order to her, especially since the music was playing. It was fully loaded with cheese, shredded beef, mac n cheese, grilled onions, mixed in with BBQ sauce that will satisfy all the cravings. The place is sort of hidden. Just go to umbrella alley and it will be found. There is very few inside seating around the inside shopping center. If the weather permits, I recommend sitting on the picnic benches outside under the umbrellas. Tots were super crispy and heavenly. I love me a good tator tot situation! The cost can be a little steep. For 3 of us it was 49 bucks. However if you get a combo it can be an additional 4.50 which starts to add up if ordering with each sandwich. Also if you order the lemonade or get a bottled coke there are more additional charges. I found it was easier to share the combo since there was a considerable amount of tots as a side. Also the ingredients used here are definitely of quality and each order was made to order which I can acknowledge. The sweet-tangy bbq sauce really complemented the savory taste of the cheese. I wished they put more bbq sauce tho as some of the bites seemed a little dry. The tater tots were very crunchyy!! Came here for dinner on 2/12 when I visited Riverside for the weekend. Friends recommended this place so I gave it a shot. I wanted the Pb&j sandwich but they ran out of the special butter. Granted we came an hour before closing. Must be a popular sandwich. Ended up ordering the BBQ Mac. Sandwich was great. I got a side of tater tots too. The tots weren't too soggy like during my high school days. Just crunchy to enjoy. Place is located on the side of a building. There was an alley with umbrellas on top for decor. Cheesewalla is soooo good! We have been coming here since they were a vender at Redlands Farmers Market. So great to see them grow and have their own permanent place and more. It was busy when we went to visit on a Wednesday afternoon and I noticed that she took her time with each customer to see if certain ingredients would be ok per order. You just don't see that type of customer service nowadays. Now the food, every time we go, we always try to get something new. This time we tried the mushroom swiss grilled cheese and added bacon. OMG it was so good, I'm not sure what happened but the first bite, was the most perfect bite, because it moved to me TEARS! It was just the perfect combo of the mushroom, with the swiss, and the bacon, as well as the zesty horseradish with the balsamic glaze. Man that one bite took me away. Tots and onion rings are always good. The fried zucchini is breaded different than I am used to and I prefer theirs better because its not such a thick piece of zucchini, its the perfect ratio. The tomato bisque is sooooo good. It has some many depths of flavors. Whenever I take a sip, I'm never questioning that it needs more salt, or sweet etc. It literally is the most perfect tomato bisque I have ever had. Such a great balance of flavors.
