We went here for my brother's birthday. The waiter was tentative but he did his best to assist all of our requests. The drinks were tasteful although I don't have a decent picture of them. My brother enjoyed his grilled chicken Alfredo. On the other hand, I found my chicken tender parmesan being really dry. My husbands ribeye and sides were perfect. This restaurant is still a good value for the amount of food you get for the price but like many other places, they just need more help to offer the same level of customer service. Terrible my lemon chicken was still raw! Cooked fast on one side and pink on another. I called and was told to brink my order back as we hadn't left parking lot LWQUS CHECK YOUR FOOD. EFORE LEAVING ANYWHERE EATING OUT! Instead of comping my meal or offering anything for the inconvenience to add Insult to injury I had to wait another 15-20 mins and my husband had to work 3rd shift and be there in a few hours...he lost sleep over this.. I actually saw Hailey C. dunking the bar glasses in 3 part wash with washing glasses just dunking from 1-3 sink. I'm pretty sure nothing has changed since my beginning years in food service we used towels. We do like this place, it's hard to not like it. The amount of food choices available is great. The service has always been good as well. The sweet rolls they give you is addicting to say the least. The steaks are good, pasta salad is always on point. A bit of a bummer on them not serving me more than 2 drinks(alcoholic) no more than 2 22 oz beers which is crazy to me. I wasn't even driving! I also wasn't by myself and a manager came out to tell me it was policy. A bit ridiculous. That was the only downfall of my trips there. We sat near the large, vertically-parallel fans. Reminded me of the large fans you'd see on the front porch of a country home in the South. They added a nice bit of Southern "charm". Service: Our waitress truly embodied "Southern hospitality". Between her perky attitude, her Southern accent, and her overall charming personality, she made my first (and not my last) trip to Cheddar's that much more enjoyable. Food came out quickly, but timely, and she made sure that we had all the refills, extra napkins, and condiments that we needed throughout the meal. Food: Where else can three people split one appetizer, have one alcoholic beverage each, and have their own entrée for under $45? In Tennessee, that's where! The Santa Fe Spinach Dip was good, though not as good as my homemade spinach dip. I had to request they bring us more chips because we ran out and still had about half the dip left. I ordered the Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms: two grilled chicken breasts with a plentiful amount of button mushrooms with a Dijon sauce with two sides. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and cleared the plate! The food is not 5 star quality. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if most of it is frozen and heated up (a.k.a. "cooked"). Five stars for this cheddars! I hadn't been to a Cheddars in years and kind of forgot what they were all about. They sat us down right away, the service was prompt and friendly and the food was cheap and high quality, how do they do it. I had the lunch portion grilled salmon, blackened, it's served over rice and it was delicious. Great crust on the fish and flavors were there too. Sweet potato on the side along with a cup of their homemade black beans. I was impressed by the black beans too. The cost of my meal was $9.99, they could have charged $18.99 and I would have been just as satisfied. My buddy at the table had a lunch combo special, soup and sandwich, he seemed satisfied as well. I ordered chicken tenders with Buffalo sauce (received honey mustard) with baked potato (received steamed broccoli). Ordered salmon with green beans and baked potato and received over cooked salmon with broccoli casserole. Not sure how they can mix up the sides so badly but this location is notorious for this. From the second I walked in the door the bartender was very cold and I felt as if I were invading her space. I believe I heard someone call her Morgan. I wasn't greeted only told my root beer that I bought in would have to be charged as a soft drink because it's an outside drink. To add insult to injury as I'm typing this my food has been in front of me getting cold because I have not been offered silverware, but charging me for my own soda was more important. Now my food is cold we will see how this goes. Bartender Morgan is ver preoccupied cleaning to leave and totally ignoring me. I have not has this level of bad service anywhere. Then after I wrote this I was asked FINALLY if I needed anything. I politely explained that I would like sone silverware and Morgan actually said I would have gotten it earlier if she knew I didn't have it. After my first bite the food was cold like I thought so I asked for a take out box and she blurted out in a smart way that I should have told her I didn't have silverware and if I had done so my food wouldn't have been cold. Never did she alert a manager to the problem. The waitress was polite., but seemed untrained for the job. I ordered a medium/rare steak. The server brought me the dinner and the steak was well done. I then saw salads being delivered to the table next to me. So, I ordered a salad. The salad was delivered and it was just letuce. I asked if she could bring me some onions. She said .......................we dont have onions except for the steaks. She tried very hard to please me.........I said I would take some of those. I asked for butter for the dry mashed potatoes and she said they didnt have any. I'm not sure if that was true or she just wasn't trained properly. Half way through dinner I looked over the a family was eating croissants. I didnt even know they had croissants. I've been there a few times and it was never very good. I don't know why I keep trying them. But, that was that last time. I blame it on the management not the employees. I think it has the potential to be an ok restaurant. The guy answering the phone to order for pick-up answered by saying, "What's the name for the order?" Well, good evening to you too, sir. To the hostess (let's just call her "smiley") who just straight up lied to my face, saying there might be an extra charge for requesting a second dressing on the side of a take out order (this has never ever been the case, ever. Also, I never specified which dressing I wanted to begin with, so I wanted something other than what they arbitrarily chose) and then compounded that lie with another whopper of a lie (that Cheddar's had been purchased last week when, in fact, the corporate website says it was last acquired by, I believe, Darden in 2017): what exactly were you thinking? All you had to do was ask them to bring out a little container of dressing. Were you hoping I'd drop the request or that you might squeeze an additional 50 cents out of a dupe of a customer. First time coming. 5 adults and 2 kids. Waited 30 min to be seated, not too bad, but it just went downhill from there. Our waitress was fun but all over the place. Drinks - forgot multiple regular drinks during first couple of trips. It took my son 30 minutes just to get his sweet tea after multiple excuses as to why she'd come back to the table without it. 3 ordered another round of drinks since the food was taking so long and it took 25 min just to get it from the bar. Waitress said it was because they were backed up, but it had clearly been sitting and was watering down. Sat at the table for over an hour before we got food. I got the shrimp and salmon. My shrimp was raw and sent back and came back a little more cooked but still not all of the way. When they brought it back the kitchen stated it was because I didn't get the blackened seasoning. Even the manager said it was just an excuse and saw it was not cooked before even picking it up. Salmon still had pieces of silver skin on the top that I picked off. The saving grace was the manager. He was extremely apologetic and offered a dessert on top of everything but I just didn't want to wait any longer. After he took care of some of the check, we realized we were charged for an alcoholic drink we didn't have. So had to call back the manager again and he made sure it was right. Horrible service! This is the second time in the last 2 months I have attempted to call in a Togo both times after 930pm trying to avoid the dinner rush. Tonight the female answering the phone cut me off while I was speaking and placed me on hold. Tyler the bartender who was running the Togo orders this night finally comes to the line after about 6 minutes and proceeds to talk over me and cut me off. Before I could finish my request for a manager he had placed me on hold while I was still talking with no warning. The manager gets on the line and tells me that the 2 bartenders were busy with other things and that's why they were rude so he took my order. When I arrived to the restaurant 15 minutes later there was maybe a max of 10 people in the bar area and almost all them had their food and drinks so I'm not sure what they were so busy with. Same story last month. Clearly the concept of Togo is irrelevant to this particular location. read more

These Cheddar's restaurants are like cattle crossings: always busy because the food is cheap and plentiful, and fairly well-cooked. But sit your fork down for a half-second, and they are there with the check and just itching to get your seat vacated for the next patrons. Oh, and do never sit at the booths! Time to write a bad review seeing as how all my other reviews are positive. Let me start this off by saying that I hate Cheddars. I hate Cheddars so much and I hate the fact that every time I drive past it the parking lot is filled to the brim.....even at like 2pm. Its like the Nickelback of American dining. The best selling band in the nation......yet the product is garbage. Alright, now I'll tell you why I'm such a hater. Basically because selling portions of those sizes(ENORMOUS) at those prices(tiny) comes at the price of quality......in spades. My wife had the tilapia and I had the chicken fingers on someones recommendation(I now hate them). Everything about that meal screamed pre-packaged, frozen, cheap, and far from fresh. So now not only have I eaten really bad food, but I've eaten a wheelbarrow full of it. I'm surrounded by standing room only DMV-like conditions complete with loud kids and loud parties shoveling copious amounts of really bad food into their faces. Cheddars attempts to deceive you with a "fancy" interior in hopes that you'll forget about what you're eating. And if you remember, you'll soon forget once the food induced coma sets in. Its like everything wrong with American consumerism and gluttony rolled up into 3 convenient locations near you!!!! I realize that sometimes people just want to get full for cheap. I've enjoyed some delicious meals at Cheddars in Smyrna. I like the way the outside looks. I usually go with 1-3 other people and everyone seem to really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. The servers were very attentive and nice. They sure give you a lot of food, because every time I wind up with a to go box and so do my other guest. I am not complaining, I love a late night snack or eat for lunch the next day. I haven't been this winter, for some reason, I dine out more in warm weather, so I will be going back in the Spring. read more

I tried this place while visiting home with my parents. Our dining experience was outstanding. Service was impeccable from the time we walked in until the time we left. Our waitress was attentive with a great sense of humor and genuine smile. Food came quickly and was delicious. Clarksville doesn't have a lot of decent restaurants, I'll be truthful, mostly just all chains. This place is a chain too, I believe, but a notch up. Decor is lovely. My sister and I ordered Key West Chicken & Shrimp Combos. I got mine with Southern green beans and a baked potato. It came with a pineapple salsa and home-made Terriyaki sauce. There were plentiful shrimp and the chicken was moist and flavorful. We both agreed that we'd recommend this combo. Dad ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and gave me a little of it on a small plate. Wow - it was presented well and delicious, if not a little too sweet for me. Dad loved it and said he'd definitely order it again. (lots of greens, chicken and mango) Mom got 1/2 rack of bbq baby back ribs and seemed to really enjoy them. (coleslaw is yummy! - she gave me a bite) I'd definitely suggest this restaurant if you're traveling through Clarksville and are sick and tired of Ruby Tuesdays (although, the one on Madison Street is very good) and Outback Steakhouse.
