I like to go out for a good dining experience, and was very disappointed with the total experience tonight. I ordered a shrimp & ribs combo, house salad w/bleu cheese dressing, and a baked potato. Ribs were dry versus moist, and ribs and potato were warm, versus hot when received. The potato was overdone and shriveled, and the ribs and potato were thoroughly cold shortly after receiving them. I was served my salad well AFTER I was served the main course, and the bleu cheese dressing was barely palatable, i.e., minimal taste and sour. My wife ordered the lemon pepper chicken--it was overcooked, dry, and tough, and could hardly be cut into even with a serrated knife. The waiter started out friendly enough, but once we ordered and were served he was very scarce. When we complained about the meal to the waiter he had the manager come over and she comped our two meals. I appreciate that, but more quality control would have precluded having to do that, and might have ensured I would return to Cheddar's in the future. We ate minimally of our substandard meals, and It will be a very long time before we attempt to eat here again. read more

I haven't had an experience this bad in quite awhile. The food I was served was not hot. When I wanted to return it, my server was nowhere to be found. I asked a busser to find my server she went to find her. She returned to continue bussing the table yet the server never showed. I went to the bar and asked to speak to a manager. The manager appeared and I explained the situation. She apologized and said she would have the meal replaced. Ten minutes later the dish was brought and it was pretty good. While dining the waitress brought a second replacement. Apparently their communication is not the best. When we received our check, they charged us twice for the item. Once again I had to point out their mistake. At no time were we offered a dessert, a discount or any kind of compensation for their screw-ups. I worked as a restaurant manager for years. Couldn't get a feel for whether this is an LGBT-friendly place. Our waitress seems quite young and was consequently unsure about how to correctly communicate our drink orders to the bartender. My husband and I held hands and didn't get any negative looks so that's a plus. Went to cheddars last night waited 5 mins for a table but waited about an hour for our food. Two out of three plates where wrong and the food was cold I had salmon not good at all the sides where gross. My husbands stake was not how he orderd it and cold. I was very upset I just wanted to have a good supper with family. The cook manager came to our table and said she would talk to her kitchen staff and said it was cuz they where very busy I don't think that is why I went on mothers day when it was crazy busy and did not wait that long for our food and it was hot. Came here when they first opened it. The food was okay but did not live up to the hype everyone was talking about. I had never been here so I did not know it was not a family restaurant so I did not know booster seats or high chairs would not be available. We ate with my daughter sitting in my husband's lap which wasn't really an issue but we never returned for this reason because we felt that the restaurant wasn't kid friendly so we didn't want my daughter talking too loudly and possibly making the other diners feel uncomfortable. We did see other people walking in with their own boosters but we felt like if children were welcome they would atleast have children menus or something. Yummm!!! For some reason judging by the outside of the building It just didn't seem that interesting of a place for me to try... boy was I wrong! Their decor on the inside is much more impressive then the outside. Lots of stone work, and just a nice setting all around. The prices are very decent... but the best part of all is the food was very scrumptious! ...Well most of it anyways. But what was tasty was so incredibly tasty that it still gets a 5 star review in my book. The chicken and waffles are large and in charge! It was so incredibly amazing. I try to steer clear of most fried foods, but this had me asking my hubby for extra bites from his plate! The spinach dip starter was also very yummy with a little kick. Well, that was a first and last time I eat here. Everyone else liked their meals but my chicken was dry and my sides were wrong but I didn't complain I just boxed it up for my dogs. I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed at any location We have ever gone to. Even if there is a wait, u r still seated when They say u will be. Everyone is so friendly! The service is always good. Dinner was excellent as usual. My steak was cooked medium just like I like it. Melted in my mouth! My husband was having mild spasms over the baby backs! Service was great, the staff was very friendly and hospitable serving my every need...the food however was on par with Applebee's or chili's. Assuming that the "scratch kitchen" meant something good...my bad. I ordered the sirloin with steamed broccoli and Mac n cheese. The Mac and cheese seemed like it sat for a bit (it had that dried cheese plasticy cheese crust and the stake had very little flavor (could have sworn google said they wood fire their meats) it was def' flat topped or pan seared. I ordered a medium rare steak came out well done. My girlfriend ordered the buffalo chicken strips we told our waitress it was cold , she sat there and looked at us and said is there anything I can do, after hearing her say this three times , I said yes take it back and warm it up. I've been here for my boyfriends birthday, my birthday, and for the hell of it. Everytime I go here, for some reason the inner Donald Trump comes out of me. Yes I am that person. But here's why: this restaurant has thee best food, with thee best price, anywhere. I usually order two of the three croissant orders and than order three of the (three) croissant orders to go. Why? Because they are that good. I've only had one visit here where the croissants were questionable. They weren't warm and there wasn't much butter on them. Mind you this was at 11 in the morning so I'm going to let that situation go. The Texas Cheese Fries are a fatties dream. The New Orleans pasta is fantastic. The buffalo chicken wraps are excellent as well. The key lime pie desert is just the right size- since everything else I order is served with huge portions. I usually have a to go box for the appetizer and main course. Also, if you're a "drinker" than this is the place for you. Great drinks for great prizes. After the countless fails, our tab should have been comped completely. This was the worst experience we have had at a Cheddar's! We arrived at the restaurant two hours before closing and waited over an hour to get our food. We were told later after waiting for our appetizer that they were out of chips and if we wanted something else, so we ordered something else, then later had the original app arrive. Then waited forever for water and the food! We never received croissants that we asked for then after we finished eating asked a third time and received them to be not cooked inside. The waiter said oh those are on me, but they came with our entree. Two out of the four entrees were not eatable ( chicken fried steak and fettuccini ) the veggie plate and kids grilled cheese was good. Hey all, it's me again. This review is about Cheddar's. Man, oh, man,does this place hit the spot when you really can't decide what kind of food you want to indulge in for date night. Wifey and I went there since it's close to home, and we both got our culinary cravings done-in-one. She chose the Shepard's Pie (which I hear is getting phased out in the next menu rotation) and I got a typical burger with bacon. We each got a Texas Tea which lacked the proper alcohol that was expected, but we survived; no biggie. The Shepard's Pie was not a typical pie from Scotland, or what have you. It actually had flavor for the American taste buds. Overall, a good transitional piece to whet an American appetite. Now, lemme ya about da Smokehouse Burger. Though I couldn't get it medium rare, as per my choice,I did like the medium char on this burger enough to enjoy my time at Cheddar's. What i liked about this burger was that there were bacon bits in every bite. OMG, that was brilliant. The staff was friendly and honest. We had a waitress who didn't eat seafood and when I asked about the fish tacos (c'mon, I'm a San Diegan by heart) she told me she never tried it, but that she sells quite a few. We've been 3 times to this location and each time the service has been horrible. The food is good and fresh, but it takes so long to get it it's not worth it any more! Here's a quick review of our 3 visits: 1) During winter, we went and the place was freezing! We sat in the bar and had cold air blowing right down on us! Since the restaurant was full couldn't be moves so we ate freezing and our food turned cold once it finally arrived. The manager said there was nothing he could do. 2) We went with our sons and waited longer than quoted. Once seated it took forever to be greeted, and to get our food. The server was friendly (actually he was too chatty) but forgot small requests several times. We ended up boxing our food up to take home to finish. 3) We went in at 5:15 on a Friday night, with a party of 4. We were quoted 20 minutes, which isn't normally too long, except the restaurant wasn't even half full! There was staff standing and even sitting around. We left. We weren't going to risk another long and poor service experience. The food is great, so will probably only ever do to go at this location. Went today for lunch. It was a bit crowded, but not overly so. We were seated right away. However, our server didn't seem the least bit interested in us at all, barely smiled, and was hardly around when we needed something or took forever to bring it when we asked. My dad has the bacon cheese burger, my daughter had the salmon with bourbon glaze, and I had the chicken tenders. My dad's burger looked good and my daughter liked her salmon, but the rice mixture was horribly sweet and just didn't fit. The chicken tenders had absolutely no seasoning to them and the 'batter' was horrible and had no taste to it either. The cole slaw was too sweet and soupy. The fries were over cooked and there was maybe about ten of them on the plate. It was not worth the $40 I paid for lunch, plus tip. I will not be returning. read more

I was so disappointed, we were there at 330 and I ordered a vegetable plate and my husband ordered fish. My baked potato wasn't cooked enough and the cheese wouldn't melt. It was beyond sending back since the potato was raw. My cooked vegetables were cold and the macaroni and cheese was old and cold. It took 37 min to get our food and it wasn't the waiter, who was attentive, they said the kitchen was slow. I took my food to the dogs.
