Eating at Cheddar's is like that one song that you always skip but one day you finally decide to listen to it, and you find out how good it is. My Cheddar's virginity was taken a few weeks back when a good friend of mine decided we should go out for drinks since we had heard about how good their infamous "Pain Killer" is. I had no intentions on purchasing any food since the menu did not appeal to me, the awesome waiter ( who's name I can't remember ), suggested we try the crescent rolls with honey butter. Let me start by telling you this, you will NOT want to share these so do not feel bad for ordering your own personal appetizer. By the time the drinks and rolls arrived I had worked up an appetite and settled on ordering a petite steak, with a potato, and broccoli cheddar casserole. My food was average but the drinks were very well worth mentioning. Let me start by saying the kitchen staff couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag. I have ordered to go many times over the last year and I can honestly say about 10% of the time they are on point and the food comes out perfect. But yet again last night I ordered for the first time in over 2 months. The chicken pot pie was room temperature at best. The sides of broccoli were so overcooked it looked like the grass that gets stuck around the blade and inside rim of your lawnmower after a good rain and you decided to mow the grass while still wet. The worst part is if you even bother complaining to management they make you feel like it's your fault..... no accountability, no responsibility, no sense of urgency just a ok whatever attitude. Corporate needs to take a hard look at this location, because the staff just doesn't give a shit. They are just going through the motions to collect a paycheck......and as always it's we the customers that suffer. I have complained to upper management about the problems with this location but it seems to fall on deaf ears. How these people sleep at night is beyond me. Take my advice and find somewhere else to spend your hard earned money, you'll thank yourself for making a better choice. Was craving an old favorite so drove across town for a Chicken Pasta Caesar salad. After a much to long wait, I was handed a bowl of wilted romaine lettuce, 3 croutons, 5 pieces of penne pasta and overly saturated with a nasty tasting dressing. If I had only ordered a Caesar salad, it still would have been terrible because of the quality of ingredients, but the lack of Pasta in a "Pasta salad" was more than disapponting. For being a chain restaurant, it never disappoints. I've been to different Cheddars various times. Some favorites: Queso & chips appetizer (some of the best queso! Served with salsa as well). The manager there whos name was Bill, was yelling at his staff to shut the f up and go home because someone in the back made a simple mistake with the order. First it's very unprofessional, not to mention you can hear him in the entire establishment. Customers want to have a pleasant get away for food, and hearing that is not one of them. I'm not sure where we got a gift card for Cheddar's, we've never been and decided to use the card and try it out. At 6 pm on a Friday, the parking lot was packed, and when we left several dozen people were waiting outside for tables. As a party of two, we were seated pretty quickly. The atmosphere is comfortable​ and we liked the huge fish tank​ . We were seated in a booth toward the back near the kitchen; the booths had plenty of space which​ is nice. It took quite a while for a server to approach the table when he did, we ordered soft drinks but needed a minute to look at the menu. They definitely​ have comfort food, although they did have a few lighter items. We ordered a Homemade Onion Rings ($5.99) we received​ a huge tower of stacked onion rings. They were crispy and light but were very bland. They came with two dipping sauces, the ranch was only OK, but the Cajun​ had a lot​ of flavor. We purposely did not order our entrees when we ordered our appetizer, for one we were still narrowing down the choice​ and we didn't​ want them coming out too fast. While eating out onion rings, we ordered entrees and were barely finished when the entrees came out. My husband ordered a Half Rack of Ribs and Fried Shrimp ($15.99) his shrimp were fried, crunchy and not greasy, the ribs were fall off the bone tender but probably took too far. They fell apart into a big pile of pork and bones. The fries were well prepared and they broccoli casserole was OK. I had the Chicken Pot Pie ($8.49) the crust was beautiful crisp, buttery and golden brown. The gravy was bland, the chicken inside was a little dry and for "scratch made" the frozen peas and diced carrot mix was kind of lacking. I came with a side salad which​ was practically a meal. The server did ask if I was ok with eggs, cheese, ​and croutons but there seemed to be a ton. I'm not a fan of the croissant​ with honey butter drizzle, it was just blah. The biggest disappointment had to be the service. Coming from a food and beverage background, I understand​ the food runner concept. But at some point,​​ the server needs to check in. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a Cheddars and I keep wishing my hometown in Tallahassee will get one of these. The service and the food were both fantastic. Wednesday evening at 7pm, when my party of 4 asked how long it would be for a table the hostess said 1hr. I was flabbergasted and said "What!" A huge party of over 20 was in the center of the dining room. A business that doesn't have the means to serve a private party and take care of the rest of the customers should not accommodate such a large party. We were seated 30 minutes after initial arrival. My families and I tend to go there, for later dinners, sometimes lunch. I ordered their pasta many times, and I dont care for their Alfredo sauce, runny like water. Every time I order it, I'm thinking, that the last time was a mistake. But it's not. They watered down their Sauces. Other than that, their food is great, some of their servers are nice. Last time a girl with a nasty cold served us, who kept wiping her nose with her hands while serving us. We had to cut it short and throw away our food. A towering plateful that was definitely overkill but I do love onion rings. He ordered the soup and sandwich combo with a monte cristo. His soup was cold. This place is a great bang for your buck without compromising on comfort and cleanliness. Affordable "fine" dining, as in this is not fast food quality atmosphere. I appreciate this restaurant as an option for families on a budget that want a nice meal. The parking lot is decent size although they are usually always busy so you might have to drive around for a spot. I have never had a rude waiter or waitress here so the staff is always friendly. The drinks are delicious as well as affordable. My fav is the Maui margarita which comes with a shot of cactus juice on the side to pour in. Mmmm. The food is always delicious as well. Some of my favorites include: the Dijon chicken with mushrooms, buffalo chicken wrap, Caesar pasta salad, chicken pot pie and can't forget their amazing honey butter croissants!!! My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch yesterday and had a wonderful experience. Our server Alyson was very attentive and friendly. We started with onion rings. We had forgotten how good they are. Not too much batter and cooked to perfection. We then each had the chicken pecan salad. All this time Alyson kept our drinks topped off and we shared a few laughs. A bunch of us came here for lunch on a weekday and the setting is very cool with the "island" feel to me. I liked it so far. We sat down in I guess was the larger dining room towards the middle so it was nice and bright and roomy. I got a chicken sandwich (don't remember what its called) and just about everyone else got either a burger or sandwich. I would have to say that my sandwich was really dry. Not that bad but its also made a little messy so when I took a bite, the middle of the sandwich started squeezing out the back. I would say the food is only OK. We did share onion rings but they seemed to be a bit heavy on the bread part and not all that tasty. I think the waiter was a little overwhelmed because he never really came by when we wanted some refills. On top of all this, I would have to disagree with some other reviews on here. I think the prices are kind of high for what you get. Maybe the price is also a reflection of what ambiance is inside the restaurant. Overall I would say this place is OK. Our first time at Cheddars and we were both impressed with their staff, service and the food! We had a group of 22 to be served. They weren't told of our arriving by early shift, but had an area set up quickly for us. The wait was minimal and the servers were great! The drink orders were quick to arrive, and the food orders were taken fast. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp over rice with bourbon sauce, and a loaded baked potato which was superb! My wife had the Better than Moms meatloaf, could it ever be? Mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. She loved it all and that shocked me. If you knew her you would understand my statement(picky)shhhhh! First time back in in months, went in expecting a good dinner but was sadly disappointed. At first server was great, took drink orders fast and apps. But over time she was able to check on us less, seeming overwhelmed by too many tables, leaving us without refils for a while, she also was too overworked to check on us after the food arrived for almost 10 minutes What upset me was the food, I'm used to their chicken tenders being amazing and their steaks well seasoned. Today the tenders were bone dry and tasted powdery and gross not the normal seasoning at all, the steak paired with it came out undercooked and had to be corrected only the waitress finally was able to walk by when it was cold. My dinner companion ordered a side of broccoli and it was half the size of my side which seemed unfair. Lastly, I heard employees treating eachother like trash as they walk past the table, some man was yelling at a woman employee saying "youu better not" mixed with some profanity, which this is not my first time encountering that issue in the past I've seen employees sit on their phones and make fun of employees working, not professional at all. Dear Cheddar's, Who hurt you? You used to be so good, but now your food tastes like you're trying to get revenge on someone. Our server, Brittany, tried, she really did. She is the only reason I'm giving you two stars. She was kind and attentive, and everything was great...until the food arrived. Was it something we said? My pasta tasted like disrespect. The sauce was made of pure, salty hatred. Seriously, the sauce was so salty it hurt. The spinach dip had a skin on it and the chips that came with it were dark brown and shiny with oil. The bread on my wife's chicken sandwich, was,... well, ...crispy. Not the chicken. The bread. The bread hurt my wife's teeth. My friends ribs were crunchy. I will repeat that. The meat...on my friends barbecued ribs...was crunchy. The free honey butter croissants were... Pretty good actually. I don't even know what to write because I'm not even mad about the service I received tonight I'm more so disappointed. My server was the absolute worst! I come here all the time and today was just horrible. Here's a list of all that went to hell: - server forgot to bring us straws so we sat there for 15 mins having to track down another server to get some. - we had to remind him THREE times about our drinks we were missing. - never brought napkins or clean dishes to our table after we told me our dishes were dirty. - one of the meals that were order was missing their salad and fries in which they never received EVEN after they told the server it was missing he never brought it. - he never brought us the refills we asked for so went the entire last 20 mins without drinks. - when he brought us our checks he just dropped them off and never told us bye. What a horrible dinner, and to think we brought drinks, appetizers and entrees and were still treated as if we ordered nothing but water all night.
