Came here for breakfast Saturday morning. The wait wasn't actually that bad. Maybe 15 mins tops. Staff was friendly. Prices were very fair. I got the avocado egg sandwich with hash browns and a side of French toast. The French toast was good but the maple syrup tasted artificial/not real. The avocado egg sandwich was a 10/10. Highly recommended! Eggs were fluffy. Lots of avocado. Wheat bread was delicious. Hash browns were okay -5/10. The crispy parts were good but the overall potatoes lacked salt and any flavor. Well, it took me about 11 years to get back here, but I made it and it was because my daughter has been going quite regularly. We started with mimosas and then we each enjoyed breakfast. Very friendly service and big parking lot. I got a piece of quiche that was so tasty. My daughter's breakfast was cooked to order and she has a couple of special requests such as egg whites scrambled hard, bacon, soft, chocolate chip pancake - all requests met with no big upcharges. I should've read my previous review as I forgot. They have cakes and pie and did not look at the case. I drive past this establishment on 49th St. on the way to work every day. I noticed that on Saturday and Sunday mornings especially it's busy. They have a large parking lot. The facility is very good size. It would appear they go on long weights on the weekends, but the staff is quite efficient. I made my first visit on a Wednesday morning. I was promptly said it wasn't busy at all around 8:30 in the morning. The service was quick and the food delivery equal that. I ordered biscuits and gravy and a side of hashbrowns with eggs and cheese. All in all the food quality is pretty good. I would definitely come back to sample other items on the menu. Cheese stretched from every gentle pull from the omelette and it was surprisingly not very spicy. Wish we could have gotten better hashbrowns but i was not stressing the lil taters. Poor Service, Mediocre Food Sunday morning was busy at Parkside and we waited about 10 minutes to get a table. I'm sure the busyness contributed to the confused service. But if you can't handle the crowd, slow down the seating or reduce the number of tables. After a long wait at the table, several different servers came by trying to figure out if we had already ordered. Getting an empty plate, some jam, some syrup, coffee refills, a to-go box, etc all took a while. Most of those things should have happened automatically or, at least, offered. The young woman doing the bussing was the only one that seemed to have oomph in her step. The food was a mixed bag. Fine were the pancakes, bacon, eggs and biscuit. Not so good was the ham which seemed like a slice of pressed ham loaf--spongy with little taste. The grits had an OK consistency, but they were bland, bland, bland. Even the addition of lots of salt, pepper and butter didn't help. Those things must be cooked into the grits. The side of French toast never arrived, and I had to have it taken off the eventual check. The property rating should have been 2.5 stars, but I chose to round up. Nothing about breakfast here made me want to return. read more
