Went in on a Thursday night, pretty busy. Waited about 3 minutes to be seated for 2. Waitress, Jennifer was amazing. Spinach dip was AMAZEBALLS and great portion for 2. I had the streak and shrimp with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Steak was a little over marinated. I asked for white gravy on the size and had to get another side order because they drenched the mashed potatoes with the white gravy I ASKED to be put on the side. The pain killer drink was really good. Tasted like a coquito with pineapple. Would return just off service. read more

Chicken pot pie had 2 pieces of chicken in it along with carrots and peas. Green beans that came with the lemon pepper chicken were canned, not fresh. Cole slaw was not home made. Where do I begin....I thought you can't have nice deco and then have crappy food, but apparently you can with this place. The decor makes you think you're at a nice restaurant but with everyone being so loud it's just ridiculous to even try to get a conversation in. Plus our waiter had to ask "what? Menu looked like they had delicious options but I was grossed out by the fact that ALL the menus were sticky, the table was sticky plus food left on the table , and the booth we sat at had left over food on it. ....so gross. But I endured because we have been in Omaha and have yet to try this place, so on we went with my sanitizer in tow. I got the chicken fried chicken husband got the Louisiana pasta thing. Our appetizer was the trio of fried stuff(potatoes with cheese and bacon, fried cheese, and chicken fingers) clearly everything was from a prepackaged frozen box. You guys call yourself the scratch kitchen? As in scratch making everything home made? The Louisiana pasta lacked the beautiful flavors of the rich beautiful culture for which this plays of food for its name. So depressing. The chicken fried chicken looked great! Tons of food awesome you think, but then you look at your sad little vegetable they give you and it's clearly from a can because it just dissolved in my mouth because it war over cooked. The taste was sweet and the after taste was gross. The potatoes looked appealing, so dogs the chicken, lacked flavor that would want you to keep eating. I ate 4 bites in total of the meal. Took it home to make it into delicious food with actually flavor. Oh and I didn't mention that they messed up my strawberry lemonade....too sweet and tart had to dilute with my water to get a flavor that was actually decent. Can't believe our bill was $55ish Ugh so not worth it! Stay away from this place if you actually love comfort food. The price for the quality of food is NOT worth it. I have never left Cheddar's unhappy. The food is really good and reasonably priced. The ambiance is nice and the restaurant is always clean. There is always at least a 20 minute wait but they do a good job of getting you a table as fast as possible. I would put Cheddar's in the same category as Applebee's and Chili's but it's much better! They give quality food for a great price, in a great atmosphere. I have yet to try something that I don't like there. The butter croissants are a must-try. The fish is always flaky and well seasoned. Had to be the worst food I've had at a sit down in a long time. Had the chicken fried steak it was obviously a frozen processed patty. The meat slid out of the breading. My friend had a hamburger patty again frozen McDonalds quality patty. Frozen processed skimpy. She ordered it without the bun and the truth of their burger is revealed. As soon as I moved to Nebraska, I was taken to dinner here. And oh my was it delicious! The first time I came I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger, something ordinary. And for something as simple as a burger, this was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. If I don't get the burger I usually get the Cornmeal Catfish. I will tell you that the lunch portion is for smaller appetites and the dinner portion, well be ready to take some home with you! The customer service, the wait time for food, and the deliciousness has all been top notch. Don't expect your food to come out right away when it's a busy Saturday night, but don't run away because it's busy. In my opinion, this place is always worth the wait! read more

We have visited the Cheddars in St. Joe, MO and loved it, so we were excited to see it coming to Omaha. We visited today for the first time and were a little disappointed,there are definitely some kinks that need to be worked out. For a restaurant crowded with wait staff, service was poor. We ordered an appetizer to start, which never arrived and our main waiter never seemed to get the message from the person who brought us our food. Timing is also a major issue, one of the things I hate the most is getting your salad two minutes before your meal. The message sent is that the restaurant cares more about quick table turnover rather than taking time for each customer. On a positive note, the food we tried was great! Finally stopped in here on a Sunday evening to see what the buzz is all about with this place since every other time I've attempted to eat here it was way too packed. Even on a Sunday night there was a 15 minute wait. Service: This was fast...we were probably in and out in about 40 minutes so I'll give the wait staff and kitchen props for getting food out quickly. The napkins were secured with tape...very annoying trying to undo them and then my wife's napkin was dirty. Food: The portions are large, but the taste was lacking. I ordered the lemon chicken. The plate arrived with two large chicken breasts sitting on rice...didn't look very appetizing. Chicken tasted like it had been marinated in a bag of lemon juice for two weeks....the flavoring was way too strong. Almost didn't want to eat it. Mashed potatoes were good. My wife ordered something, took a few bites and brought the rest home because she thought it was way too spicy. The beer was cheap...my coke was almost the same price! Atmosphere: Nice restaurant inside, but it is very noisy and pulls in a quite a few people that look like they were sitting at the bus station downtown. Reminds me of Wal-Mart. I've eaten at Cheddars in other states so I knew exactly what to expect. What I didn't know was if this location would fall short of my expectations or meet them. Needless to say, my expectations were met with fast and friendly service from the waiter Evan. The food arrived fast and piping hot and the drinks were constantly topped off. I am a self proclaimed grill master which by default makes me a rib connoisseur. Their signature ribs were heavily advertised throughout the restaurant so I gave in and ordered a full slab. To my dismay they were not seasoned, lacked a smoky flavor (or smoke ring), and the bbq sauce was entirely too sweet. For tenderness they get an A+ but overall rib execution earned them a solid B-. Still this was a highly enjoyable visit and since bbq is personal to the cook, I give the overall experience a solid 4 stars! read more

My family from out of town and I dined at Cheddars on Saturday March 31st. I'm a big fan of Cheddars and I do take in consideration they were extremely crowded but I was very disappointed. I always get the Tilapia and Shrimp with Mango Salsa. The rice was very under cooked. My family member had the Glazed Pork Chop and her broccoli was under cooked. My husband had the Country Fried Steak and he said it was not good. On the positive side the waitress we had was good. I will continue to be a fan I'll just give it some time before I return. This restaurant gets 2 stars for pricing. It's very inexpensive to eat here and they give you lots of food. Hence, it is filled with an older crowd most of the day. I ordered the lunch special which was a half of a sandwich with a salad and a baked potato. The waiter got the order wrong and brought out my chicken wrap without the buffalo sauce. I didn't bother to ask him to fix it because I knew upon looking at it that once I tasted it I wouldn't like it. The highlight of the meal was the salad. Remember to ask for the dressing on the side so you can add the amount you like. We went here for supper tonight. The menu is pretty standard bar food. The price was about the same as bar food. The service was poor. The food was awful. The place was messy. We received our menues pretty fast, but from there it went down hill fast. We ordered our drinks, husband had a beer, i had water. Took over 10 minutes to get that. We ordered a philly and a bacon mushroom chicken sandwich both with the famous mac and cheese. We also ordered an appetizer of onion rings. My sandwich was some processed beef with a couple finly chopped green peppers, maybe a TBS. No onions and saltiest canned mushroom i have ever had. The cheese was not even melted and the bun was dried out like it had been microwaved. I ate half and did not want any more ever. The mac and cheese was poor. The noodles were over cooked and the cheese product had a funky celary flavor. Could not eat it. Husbands sandwich was ok. Tiny piece of chicken. We had no silverware. Had to ask twice for them. The onion rings came out 10 minutes after our meal. They were fine, but we were both still hungry due to the fact we couldn't gag down our food. Server asked if everything was ok. I told her mine was awful. It was cold and bread was hard. She did appologize. Then quickly walked away They did comp our onion rings.. should have sent manager over after I suggested that the food was awful.. I have never written a review with a 1 star.. this was the worst meal I have ever paid for. Don't waist your time or money. Go to Denny's or Perkins if you want this kind of food. That is what it reminded me of.. except, the food quality is way better at Perkins or Denny's. Ignore the full parking lot. Must have been 25 servers. Huge cheap drinks and yummy food! I have never had a bad experience at Cheddars. The only thing that surprises me every time I go is how many people are there waiting for a seat. The wait usually isn't long though, in my experience. Let's talk drinks! They have yummy drinks that come in a huge glass for under $6! Sold! My favorite is the margarita, which comes with a side shot. Also- the painkiller is delicious! What should you order? A great value is the lunch special, which you are able to order at any time of the day. Any of the entrees that come with two sides are a good value as well. One of my favorite meals is the tilapia with shrimp. Whatever you order, be sure to get the side caesar salad, if you're not counting calories that is. It comes with a croissant drizzled in a yummy sauce. Overall, Cheddars is a great value for the amount of food and drink you get for your buck. It's a nice atmosphere. It actually appears more upscale on the inside than it actually is. The food is good. Just don't expect to be seated right away. read more

I reviewed this place in the past and it was horrible. I had a $20 gift card to use, so I went back to use it with a friend. This time, my experience was much better. I wonder if it was because I didn't see any of the same staff from the last time I was there. The wait was about 10-15 min. Got a nice table, food was good. We both ordered the country fried chicken and a salad to start. Both were very good, except if I go back and order the same, I would tell them to only put 1/2 the gravy as it was swimming in it. The first time I went here they left out the main course of the meal. So they sent me a coupon to make up for there mistake. The second time I went here the messed up my order again and took 15mins to remake and told me to keep the coupon since there is nothing else that could do. I called the corporate office and left am message no respond. A week later I call and and spoke with someone who stated the machine is currently broken so no one is able to retrieve the voicemails. I advised the rep of the dissatisfaction and she stated someone will be reaching back out to me. It has been three weeks and still no one has contacted me. Is this the type of service and treatment is to be expected. Also I guess customer complaints are taken very lightly as well. Maybe this one voice is not loud enough to care about. I always go here with my whole family and it has never been a bad experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is not loud at all. The decorations are lovely and seats are comfortable. I have never had a problem with waiting too long, but from other reviews, it seems that some other people have. The wait for me has never been over 15 min and honestly that's really not a bad wait time considering. They have a bar where you can order drinks and a fish tank with tons of fish in it to keep the kiddos entertained. The food is always amazing. I usually get the lemon pepper chicken and I have never been disappointed with it. You get a choice of 2 sides with it and I always leave full. The drinks are good too, and they never skimp on the alcohol. Waiters and waitresses are nice, friendly and do their job well. The only time I have ever not experienced that was when they were training a new waitress, but that is totally understandable. Bottom line, it's worth the wait if you go on a weekend. read more

Celebrated my daughter's Bday on Jan 31. Ordered drinks in the bar while waiting for a table and the rest of our party and took 20 min to get these. 3 drinks, one was a beer draw. Saw staff at the bar texting. Almost told the waiter to forget it. Our server at the table was awesome. She was so sweet and kind to our family. Took pics for us to celebrate. Not bad. Depending on your server, they're slow or fast-paced. I've been there several times. First time I was there with my husband and parents-in-law, I had a fast-paced, respectful and cheerful server for our table. Her service made me challenge her by ordering something else other than main dish. I didn't have a dessert but a drink which I asked her if they had or could make rum punch, which is a little bit of rum with some peach juice mixed in a glass. She or whoever made it really did a good job. I increased tips for her not because she made my drink excellent, but she said she would take the drink back if the drink I ordered didn't taste the way it should. I appreciated the offer/kindness. However, when I went back there another time when it was my husband and my 2nd wedding anniversary, we had a server who was slow. My husband had his main dish come first before he got his drink. He waited minutes for my food to be served but it took too long for him to wait and his food wasn't warm any longer. My food finally came after 45 mins when my husband was done with his food which made me feel a little bit uncomfortable because by seeing the empty plate of my husband hurried and made me feel like I kept him waiting even though he said "take your time." We waited for the water refills and check out after waiting for our meals... It's been 6 months since we ate there... We don't even know if we go back there again. read more

We went here today because my husband wanted to try it out. I wanted to dislike it from the beginning but only people who know me know why. Our server did a good job taking our drink orders and appetizer orders. The Coke tasted a little light on the syrup but I'm guessing that's how their machine is calibrated (maximum profit). We had the Texas Cheese Fries as our appetizer. They were pretty good, the shining moment of the appetizer was in the ranch dressing. It was delicious. I had the Monte Cristo which was also very good. The batter was slightly thicker than I'd prefer, but the meat and cheese on the inside, as well as the raspberry preserves were great. My husband had the chicken fried steak which was chewy, rubbery and over cooked. The corn tasted frozen as well. We asked our server if the chicken fried steak was hand breaded to which he replied that everything is homemade. Let's be honest, it's almost impossible for everything in a restaurant like that to be homemade. The bleu cheese dressing clearly came directly from a jug and was TERRIBLE! I did see a lady who I decided was the most likely to be the manager walking around but she wasn't doing any table touches. It's their second week open and there are still way too many servers walking around. Maybe in a couple of weeks they will start cutting back. I might go back again. We shall see. On a side note: One thing I did not like was the binder/booklet they had on the table showing all of their cocktails and liquor selections. We went to Cheddars while we were in town visiting family and they've talked about this place all the time so I was excited to try it. The prices are cheap but so is the quality of food. I ordered my 1 year old daughter's food of Monte Dogs and a side order of steamed veggies. The breading on the dogs had no flavor just flour- and the steamed veggies were still raw. My sister and I ordered Top Sirloin Steak and they of course mixed ours up and I had a well done and she had a medium well. The steak it was just bland and no taste- I've never had steak sauce but begged for it just to be able to eat something. The loaded baked potatoes where hard and not fully cooked, - the only thing that was actually good was the Broccoli Cheese Casserole. I hope if we do decide to give it another chance we wont be disappointed again. read more

I took my elderly mother to this restaurant and neither one of us was impressed. As I was assisting my mother (who walks with a walker) to the bathroom, I received dirty looks from the customers, who were obviously put off by having to get out of the way. As we were waiting for a table, I had to ask for a chair for her to sit in, and they put it in the foyer. Really? You think it's acceptable to put a woman on a walker in the foyer in this heat? After being seated, we had to track down the waitress to order. We ordered the steak, and it was overcooked, flavorless, and tasteless, and had to track down the waitress again to order dessert. The bill was over $50 bucks! Extremely loud dining experience. Good location - it would be a good place to put a "comfort food" restaurant. Don't waste your money on this place. Usually like Cheddars but this location could use some customer service skills. My chicken was undercooked so I asked for it to be cooked. They took it back to the kitchen put my piece back on the grill after I had eaten a portion of it and cooked it a bit longer. Ick, not sure how the health dept. Feels about that....After cooking it more It was so rubbery I couldn't eat it. Waitress said it was fresh and she didn't know why I didn't like it but she hoped I liked the cocktails we ordered. I mentioned she might want to let mgmt know the chicken wasn't edible. She laughed, said he was over by the door and walked away instead of letting the mgr. know.
