This is the WORST dining experience I've had in the last 15 years. I ordered a salad and asked for onions , the ramacan was dirty and there was something black in the onions so they replaced the onions. I went to unwrap the silverware and it already had a meal on it from the previous user. I asked for plasticware and was about to eat my salad when I realized the bowl was dirty with crusted cheese stuck to it. I asked for the manager and received several "I'm sorries" but by that time my appetite was lost. He gave us 50% off but I didn't want anything else from Cheddar's at that point. read more

I'm not a huge fan of cheddars mainly because their menu is a mix of everything. And they don't specialize in one thing which usually means you sacrifice the quality. But I got the chicken Parmesan spaghetti and it was really good. The chicken was fried and it still had that fresh crispy taste instead of being soggy from the spaghetti sauce which made it stand out. It was nice having that crunch factor. It took us a long time to get our food for a Tuesday night and just being 2 of us. But we don't mind that too much because we are there to enjoy each other's company. So for other people being in a hurry that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Based solely on how slow it took us to get our food. Anyone else may have given a harsher rating. read more

I don't understand the draw to chain restaurants like this. The food was nothing special. The mac and cheese was a disappointment, it didn't even taste like it had cheese in it. The only thing that gave the burger any flavor was the piece of bacon on it. They didn't have the Monte Christo that was listed on the menu, so I settled for a club. Honestly, out of all the things we ordered, the best item was the chicken tenders, which were obviously deep fried from frozen. I'd much rather support a local restaurant that actually makes their own food. Not sure what "scratch kitchen" is actually referring to in their name. The staff was friendly, but there was a lot of trash scattered throughout the parking lot. read more

Service was slow and had to be asked repeatedly for things. We had a party of 5 and we only had to wait 15 min. We sat down at 6:31 to be exact! The table got their food at 7:30 but my plate was wrong so I had to wait till about 7:45 before I got my food. By then 2 people were done eating and the others were almost done too. OMG how bad of an experience...I don't know where to begin. 1 hr wait after being told 20 min. Stuck back in the corner where no one else was. 2 servers took our order for drinks, took an hour to get our food and it was wrong. Ordered steak and ribs, but it took 20 min. for them to tell us that they were out of it. Burnt toast served to a kid, strawberries served to my mom who has a strawberry allergy, the manager set it right for us, thus they got 2 stars versus 1. We had to wait for our table and noticed lots of people going in without masks, masks in their hand, or worn under their nose or chin. Those with no masks were told they could not be seated. Others had to put them on. Lots were leaving the restaurant without their masks back on though, passing through those of us waiting. Not the restaurant's fault. However, we were seated and our server approached the table with her mask under her nose. I asked her to pull it up and she did but told me it wouldn't stay up. She made the effort to pull it up coming to our table from that point on, however, she served other tables with it down including one with a highchair baby. She stood right over that child breathing down on it's head through her uncovered nose. Not only that, every time she spoke, she pulled the mask away from her face or back down. The other server in the section also had her mask under her nose the entire time we were there. Back to the couple with the baby. They were seated at a table that had not been wiped down. B the time, someone came to clean the table, that baby had been banging on the dirty table top and had put the wrapped silverware that had been laying on the table in her mouth. While her parents seemed oblivious, I was cringing inside. When our server brought bread to the table it was drizzled with something. I asked what it was and was told honey butter. I am allergic to honey and told her I couldn't eat it. She did not offer to replace it with plain rolls. My son ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. I ordered a small steak with broccoli and carrots. When the food arrived our sides were switched. We had to scrape stuff off one plate and on to the other and my vegetables had white gravy all over which I do not like. I took one bite off my carrots and asked the server if they were sweetened with honey. She didn't know. Had to go ask. And, of course, they were despite my having told her I was allergic. Honey was not mentioned on the menu description. My son's mashed potatoes were refrigerator cold and inedible. The actual fried chicken, my sirloin, the cole slaw, and my broccoli were ok. I spoke to Kevin, a manager, who took quite a bit of time to appear after my request to speak to someone. His excuse was, "I thought the other manager was coming out." As I was explaining my concerns, especially about the cleanliness of the tables and the servers wearing masks inappropriately, his own mask kept sliding down under his nose. I had to ask him to pull his up as he was explaining how seriously they took the mask mandate. His mask was one layer of stretchy polyester that rolls if your face moves. Not an appropriate effective barrier in a food setting. Ultimately, he provided a $10 gift certificate as a result of my concerns.(I did not request any compensation. Just expressed my concerns and disappointment) As if I will go back anytime in the foreseeable future. read more

This visit was a carry out order around 2:00 p.m. on a Friday so I called and was placed on hold for over 4 minutes. I hung up waited another 10 minutes and called back and placed on hold again. Jumped in my car and drove the 12 minutes there on hold. Hung up walked into the fairly empty restaurant and on into the bar where there was no bartender. But I was seen and passed by at least 3 other employees but I was never acknowledged. I went up to the empty host stand. A few moments later the host returned and I said I was trying to place a to go order. He points to the bar and I told him I had already been there for several minutes. He went and got the bartender and she quickly took my order. It was sad to be placed on hold like that for what seems to be no reason. They were not busy at all. read more

Cheddars is one of the few restaurants where I'm actually willing to try new foods. Personally, I'm not a fan of their alcohol selection after a few nasty drinks, but the food is out of this world. The prices can get high depending what you order and how many people are in your party, but for the amount of food you receive (lunch portions are bigger obviously), it's well worth it! I always have leftovers to look forward to for my next meal. However, lately, the service has not been as good as it once was. The last few times I've been there(and I haven't been there in a while because of it), service has been rude and slow. I'll have to go back soon and eat there to see if things have gotten any better. read more

For some reason, people here find it weird that I've never been to a Cheddar's. But honestly, I only heard about it maybe a month before I moved to Louisville and hadn't had to the time to visit. Nevertheless, I'm glad I finally did. Went in on a Saturday afternoon following a very long business meeting. We had a group of 10 people and did not have a reservation. Fortunately, they were very accommodating and had us seated within 10 minutes. Our servers name was Trae and he was very nice. He greeted us quickly and made sure we had complimentary chips and salsa with our beverages very soon after our arrival. He also made sure our lunch came out as soon as it was ready and even substituted two side orders for us without complaint. Great customer service skills! As for the food, it was okay. I ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and the blackened salmon (lunch portion) as my main meal. The salmon was slightly overcooked but the seasoning was right on target. The sides I ordered were green beans and the broccoli casserole. The casserole was quite tasty. However, the green beans were sweet and turned me off immediately. However, as I mentioned earlier... I expressed that to Trae and he replaced it immediately. Overall, this was a decent experience. I would, however, like to try a different meal the next time I visit to see if it's worth any additional stars. read more

I'm a fan of this chain in general. Very tasty food offered up at prices a couple bucks less than it's chain competitors (though, there's no freebies here like chips or rolls... so maybe it evens out). I enjoy their chicken tenders. They don't have as much flavor compared to others, but the large portion size, the large size of each piece, and the awesome crust more than makes up for it. A dip in the great honey-mustard adds plenty of flavor. My partner tried a "New Orleans Pasta" dish. I grabbed a bite and it was great... I'll try it next. Wait time was about an hour. This place is still crowded like it just opened. Most people don't seem to mind waiting an hour. Because of this, the tiny waiting area is tight... I was literally pressed up against other people while I waited. People were waiting in the dining areas too... standing over other people as they ate... now that's crowded. I mentioned prices that seem a little less than competitors. In my opinion, the look of this place is a notch or two better... making it an overall good value. I love the incorporated stone and copper details. I didn't have good service this nice. Not bad... just dry. In the end, I still like this place. read more

My roommate is obsessed with Cheddar's. Granted, she worked at one in Illinois for several years and I'm sure much of her love has to do with fond memories as much as it has to do with food, drink, and decor - I still felt the need to try this magical place because of her passion for it. Last night was my second time at Cheddar's, and I know I will definitely be back. Highs: - You can combine any of the special flavors for either their lemonades or teas (and presumably you could combine a flavored lemonade with a flavored tea and make a Phil Mickelson...which is what I'm now calling an eccentric Arnold Palmer). I tried the peach/raspberry tea and it was delicious! - Huge portions. I got the Dijon Chicken & Mushrooms ($9.49)...and brought 3/4 of it home in a box. It came with 2 chicken breasts, mushrooms, rice, and 2 sides (plus I had already drank like 5 glasses of delicious tea). - Classy and clean looking restaurant. Yes, the restaurant may be packed with UK fans. Yes, one patron was an adult wearing a coonskin hat. Yes, all of the lightposts in the parking lot are armed with cameras. This is my second time coming here. My first was so horrible it took me 2 years to give this place another try and it's a 2 minute drive from my house. We had a gift card so decided to use it. We were immediately seated which was nice since the parking lot made it seem packed. I already knew what we were going to order before getting there so our server was happy about that. First we ordered the honey croissants for 2.99. They came out hot and fresh and my 19 month old loved them! For dinner I ordered my husband the 8oz sirloin steak with a baked potato and corn. The steak was dry and the potato he said was lacking butter and salt. He didnt really care for his food at all. I ordered the chicken tender platter for my 8yr old Son. He loved it. It came with mac n cheese and fries. He didnt care for the mac but loved the chicken tenders and said hed eat them again. I ordered the dinner size country fried chicken. It was huge!! I've never seen so much food on a plate. It was really good especially the gravy. I had mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole and both were nice. My little one had a kids meal for $4.99 which was grilled chicken and rice with mac n cheese. Overall I would come back again if I was short on money and wanted a lot of food for less. read more

Called at 4:18 today to ask if they take reservations since I was bringing a large party and the young lady that answered the phone told me they don't take reservations. Not a big deal. As I was halfway through asking her if I could give her the heads up that a large party was coming she hung up on me. So in less than two hours from our dinner we changed the venue to Texas Roadhouse across the street because they do call ahead seating and the lady that answered was very polite and courteous. read more

I think her name was Michelle, wasn't quite sure if she was just stoned or just a huge airhead. If you want really great food this is a great spot. It has been a while since I had been to Cheddars and it used to be one of my favorite chain restaurants. I ordered swear tea, the croissants, and the buffalo chicken tender platter. The croissants were very good but they seem smaller than they used to be, the chicken was good but not quite as good as a remember them. Our waitress was very good, she was attentive and gave us plenty of refills. Overall the experience was fine. read more
