Fish and vegetables.

We recently had a gift card so off to Cheddar's we went. Although we were seated immediately and our server was extremely friendly and attentive the food was average at best. My fish was just OK and the broccoli with cheeses was mostly bread crumbs. My wife opted for a veggie platter and thought te green beans were rather sweet and also thought the broccoli with cheese was mostly bread crumbs. The star of the meal was the warm croissants that they offer you prior to getting your meal.

Personally, I really like Cheddar's. It's very similar to O'Charley's but the chicken tenders and mustard are better at O'Charley's. They do have a lot more options on the menu though. We were going to go to Texas Roadhouse across the street but they were slammed! Almost a 45min wait! Prob cuz the holidays draws a lot of families to eat out. Parking was easy at Cheddars with almost no wait. But there were tons of people waiting when we left. We both got sweet tea. Delicious! I got the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. My friend got grilled salmon with baked potato and green beans. Yum! We both enjoyed our meals. Although I still felt hungry. LOL probably because we ate at 4:30 and I don't usually eat until 6 or 7. Service was good. Our server did a great job checking in. Food came out quickly too. Prob cuz the kitchen wasn't busy. I won't mind coming back! Parking is a lot better at this location than the one in the East end.

Came to celebrate my daughters 8th grade promotion. As usual, the ambiance was nice. I always love the decor and semi low lights. My waitress was amazing. She was attentive, friendly and interacted with us a lot. I must say it was impressive as the table across from us were giving her a very hard time. I ordered the lemon pepper chicken with broccoli cheese casserole, my partner got the New Orleans Pasta , daughter got ribs and shrimp and son got a kids burger meal. Everything was delicious and as usual, a great serving size!

Service was ok. Would rather eat dog food or roadkill. Just go to Texas Roadhouse. There was no wait to sit down and I know why.

For a Friday night, we were able to get in with no wait. It was pretty full in the restaurant. We got a large table top for 6 in main Dining Area. Our waiter came over and quickly introduced himself. My son was ready so took his order and then came back. The food came out fairly quickly as did the drinks. Ok so the drinks, my aunt and dad liked the sweet tea. My son said The Resolution special drink was good. I had the smoked winter old fashioned. I could not tell it had been smoked. The drink was just okay. I would not order it again. I expected more in Bourbon country but alas. My son loved his bbq bacon burger and fried. My aunt said the slides and salad was good. She loved the side salad. I enjoyed my fish sliders and fries. The fries were really good. The waiter needed to be more attentive. The other staff was helpful in his absence. I am thinking he was new. They have an assorted menu with many options. It's a decent sports bar.

Other group has their Togo boxes and we're still waiting on any movement of food to our table. It's a shame better mgmt and planning didnt go into our visit to your restaurant. The food was good and hot. Burgers ok, fish big, loved the broccoli salad, nice entree salad, delish chicken salad. Not a fan of the pasty, overly cheesy grits. Birthday cookie given, looked delish, hard as a rock....overwarmed I guess!! And of course, 20% added for our group. We always overtip for good service. And we did this time also. She did the best she knew how. By herself. Although interaction and communication would have helped. Some of us drove 30, 40 miles to eat here. We go out every month. This was an unusual disappointment.

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

I was going to a UofL women's basketball game and I FINALLY was able to make it here. I went a little overboard on the food, but everything sounded so good! I really loved the pork belly slider and the duck tacos. Mac and cheese balls always slap. Then there are the famous duck fat fries. The portion is substantial, I was thrilled with that. Flavor wise they did not change my life like I was hoping they would. Still ate them all. The locale is super unassuming from the street, but inside it is really cool, divey, and broody. The staff was super sweet and helped me get in and out efficiently so I could make it to the game. Would absolutely recommend, would absolutely come back, and would absolutely bring friends here.

I learned that this place is pretty close to where I sometimes work, and that is a dangerous piece of information for me. I got their #2 burger week special, adding fries to it (best decision). The burger had some spicy notes by way of jalapeño, chipotle, and pepper jack. The burger, even with the additions, was so simple and yet so beautifully executed. Truly cannot find a flaw with it. The fries awesome and crispy too. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but I mean this in the best way. Upon entry of their recently expanded parking lot, you'll notice that you'll almost always be parking in the very back row due to this Texas Roadhouse being one of the most unusually crowded locations I've ever seen. Which is all due to the fact that this is one of the few and most popular steakhouses in the area. For locals who want to do it up big on a Friday evening, but don't quite want to break the bank or go farther to Louisville, this is the place to go. Due to this being THE steakhouse in the area, if you're stopping in on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you should definitely call ahead because wait times can be in excess of 2-3 hours. And if you have a large party, you should always call ahead regardless of what day of the week it is. If you'll be stopping in with a pickup truck and trailer, parking will be a struggle. Unless you catch one of the nearby hotel parking lots vacant enough for you to park in. In the case that you DO have a trailer, happen to be headed south on I-65 and aren't starving to death, I would highly recommend driving the extra hour and a half to the bowling green Texas Roadhouse. Parking is much more trailer-friendly there. As far as the service goes, I have to say that you'll always have a friendly server. The only issue I have noticed is that the servers seem to have too large of a work load, and sometimes don't get you refills in a timely manner. Which for some, is a major issue. My policy has always been to base the server's tip off whether or not my table runs out of drinks. As long as no one runs out of something to drink for very long, I'll always tip good. As far as the food goes at this location, it's pretty hit or miss and seems to be heavily dependent on who's cooking. Which is extremely random and something you have no control over. Therefore, dining here can be risky. And with the high prices of filets, it can be very aggravating to wait in line and pay the high price for a mediocre steak. All in all, it's pretty good when it's good, but annoying when you get a cold, undercooked steak or an overcooked and burnt one. If you're on I-65 headed south, and aren't starving to death, I would drive the hour and a half to the bowling green location. Definitely less crowded, better parking (especially with a trailer) and way better food!
