This is my second time going to Cheddar's and I must say - the honey butter croissants steal the show every time! Maybe this is sad to say but it's always hands down the best part of my meal here. I eat too much before the actual food comes! But this time I got the cornmeal white fish platter with baked potato and green beans. Can't go wrong with baked potato and the green beans were actually pretty well seasoned. As far as the cornmeal white fish, that's really all it was, so I guess I can't complain lol. It tasted like just plain cornmeal. No real seasoning to it. The tartar sauce wasn't bad though. Our server checked in quite a bit and a manager came by and checked in as well, so there's good service here. Ambiance is what you would expect at a family meal restaurant. Fans were a nice touch. Tonight was great. All across the board...service and food. I haven't visited in years due to a bad experience but I'm very happy I decided to give it another try. The hostess ( so sorry for not remembering her name) and our server Gage were so friendly and welcoming. We tried a good bit of everything from spinach dip, ribs and pasta. It's cute chic and has a great quick get in and out menu or stay awhile and eat some home country cooking The drinks are seriously like 6 bucks Cute daiquiris and margaritas and the bartender is adorable. Her name is Olivia. She makes cute. Perfect little drinks that look just like the menu pictures. You can't go wrong. I see lots of kids go here after the prom or before the prom. Evelyn was great today. She was very prompt, professional & equally polite. My 7 oz filet was horrible. I usually come to the location closer to my house in westchase, and I never have any problems. We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express in the same parking lot so for convenience, this was awesome. (Our first choice was Olive Garden but they had a 40 min wait). At Cheddar's we were seated immediately. Ambiance was ok, background noise was pretty loud. (Hard to hear server and he had trouble hearing us.) We waited quite awhile after being seated for our server to come. When he did, he said, "I'm sorry about the long wait, I was in the bathroom." Ummmm... TMI??? 100% sure that is what you should NOT say when you greet a table. My husband said he immediately picked up on what was said and first thought was, "I hope we don't get sick." Put in our drinks orders: 3 kids sodas and 2 waters. Then we looked at the menu. Decided on: kids burger, kids tenders, our oldest went with a 1/2lb burger, the lemon pepper chicken and the steak and ribs combo. Upon reviewing the check, I noticed that we had a $2.99 drink charge. I asked about it since my husband and I had water. The server said that since our one child ordered a regular burger, the drink wasn't included and he had to charge us for it. Ok... I get it, but let's get real. The kids meal was $5.99. She ordered a $9.99 meal, already $4 more. You added on a $3 drink but she got a tiny kids size and didn't get a refill. So we were charged $3 for a tiny kid's soda? And what if one of our kids wanted a refill?? That would have been free right? So wouldn't a decent human just have included the tiny kid's drink as a courtesy? She planned on getting a kid's meal but got a bigger meal. So we paid an extra $7 for her. She should have just ordered 2 kids meals for LESS money. Doesn't make ANY sense. For was just ok. Wasn't anything to write home about. Lemon pepper chicken was a bit over cooked. Side note: There were issues with the table seated across from us. Upon checking on them after they had their meals delivered, the husband said that they never got their appetizer AND he never got his Caesar salad. Honestly, we came here out of convenience to our hotel but I wouldn't have sought it out and probably won't in the future. We had a party of 15 seniors set to go to dinner at Cheddar's in Katy. We are a group that goes out 2-3 times a week. I was told by the manager and hostess that they changed their split check policy and one person would need to pay for the whole table. The manager told me the managing partner will be at this location on Wednesday. How does that help a situation on Monday? We've been coming here for years but today, they wouldn't accommodate our large party with spilt checks. The seniors come here with their families regularly. They really wanted Cheddar's. I tried to reach out to guest relations and sent a message on Facebook. They didn't reach back out to me. I called the Westpark location and told Abel, the manager about the situation. He said they haven't changed their split check policy. He welcomed our group for dinner and said we could get split checks. He saved the day!!! Unfortunately, it was too far for the additional 4 seniors that wanted to go. We had two 90 year old senior citizens make the trip by driving themselves. This is a big disappointment for the Katy Foodie Groups and especially for the Katy senior living communities. We will continue to go out and support other local businesses, that take care of seniors and Veterans. read more

My first visit to Cheddar's in Texas. The decision was based on a Christmas gift card. For some unknown reason my phone internet didn't work. I called the restaurant while in the parking lot. The young lady that answered was friendly and quickly understood my dilemma as she assisted me with placing my order. The turnaround time was fast. I ordered the 5 piece chicken tender meal with a loaded potato, red beans and rice. The tender potion was larger than expected but okay. The sides were terrible. My potato was burnt and tasted old or reheated. The rice was nonexistent and red beans didn't look appealing. The broccoli was good, the steak was average but seasoned well. Needless to say, this will be my first and last visit to Cheddar's. Wishing them all the best going forward read more

This place is terrible. The service was sub par we got there an no server came to us. We had to flag down someone to take our order. She took our drink order and appetizer order along with the main order. We had to ask for napkins and plates. We got the appetizers and those r were excellent. We received our main meal and still had no silverware. My wife ordered nachos and received chips and queso. We told the lady it was wrong and she said that's how the nachos come and proceeded to ask if we wanted her to pour the cheese on top . She ended up asking my wife if she wanted a comp salad. It's a pretty much a family place to take your kids. It's basically comfort food. Nothing fancy. Our waitress Taylor, did a very good job making sure our party was taken care of. They were late on the croissants and that's because they were being made. As much as people talk about the rolls at Texas Roadhouse, I'm surprised the croissants at this place don't get much discussion. I got the meatloaf and it kinda tasted like a Salisbury steak. We had called and made a reservation for 23 they said okay, we came they sat us in two booths and a table of ten.An hour into the party the manger had came and took away three chairs? for another party that have called. if you say you have room for the party you can't just take away our chairs? Not so great! I typically don't order from Cheddar's but I had the White Fish at the other location about a week ago, but totally not the same! First, I ordered for lunch and it said it would be ready at 12:30, but it wasn't. I hadn't received an email or text message. I proceed to head to the restaurant, on my lunch break, which was about 16 mins away. I called the restaurant and the lady said she was packing my bag that was at 1:00, 30 minutes after it was supposed to be ready! I preordered a family meal at 2 PM for a 5 PM pickup. I received a text at 4:45 confirming it would be ready at 5. I checked in at the restaurant and waited almost an hour with no apology. We went the morning of at make sure that everything was set up but it wasn't when we were told it was. Also the manager very rude when we were trying to ask a question. Food was amazing! Customer service was outstanding! I dined in today with my toddler and my sister in law and it was pouring outside when we finished our meal. We waited in the front for a few minutes trying to wait out the rain when who I believe was the manager offered to walk us to our car with his umbrella. So grateful people like him exist! We really enjoy most of the food here. This is the first time that we have been here at 8 PM at night.. It's really a family night here.. that means it's packed with families with kids and not all of them are well-behaved. Super noisy with crying and yelling children. We are happy that families have children and putting up with the noise is part of it . However, I can avoid it I will. From here on, I will make a point of coming here for lunch and go somewhere else for dinner.. Taking a break from my diet and my daughter wanted to go here. There was a 20 minute wait to be seated on a Friday evening. First thing wrong, the table was sticky. Our server quickly addressed it and took our order. Wife ordered some wine and daughter some sangria, our appetizers arrived before the drinks. The food: Onion rings were good. The steaks were small, properly cooked, but not very tender. The carrots tasted as though sugar was added. My burger tasted like institutional food. When you get a burger plain w/o all the condiments, you can actually taste the flavor of the meat. Underwhelming it was. Fries ranged from lukewarm to cold. On the way out, a quick visit to the restroom, it was dirty. Four people, about $100 plus tip. I've been to other Cheddar's that were better, but this chain isn't that impressive. My family dined here on Sunday night and as always, the experience was great. We were able to get seated in the 15 or 20 minutes as promised, even though they were super busy. We ordered online for curbside at the Katy, TX Cheddars and arrived at the time they said. We waited 10 extra minutes and called the restaurant - they said it would be a few minutes. Other cars were also waiting for their food. After 15 minutes longer I went inside and they said it would be right out, they were behind. After 45 minutes of sitting at curbside, I went in again and asked and told them I was waiting for 45 minutes. They went and got the food right away without apologizing, then I got home and everything was cold and there were no croissants even though they showed on the receipt. I love this Cheddars location. Whenever I go, it's after work when I'm mentally tired or on the weekends when I've been lounging home or running errands. When I sit in the bar, I enjoy the friendly bartenders there, Ishell, Yuri, and Madison. They are all so attentive, offer new things for me to try and remember me when I come in knowing exactly what I want to order(seeing as I order the same thing lol). I appreciate their service and attention to their customers. My food is always hot, seasoned and in great proportions. Even when my food has come not to my liking, they are all quick to remedy the situation to my liking. The GM Kevin is so kind , warm and inviting. He easily comes around the restaurant greeting customers with his mannerable smile, approach and handshake(he's easy on the eyes as well ). The service managers, Frank and Paula are always polite and friendly as well. Mrs. Paula remembers me everytime I walk in and she's standing at the Hostess stand and says, "I know where you're going!" I truly like this casual Cheddars location as it is a casual restaurant. A couple of years ago was my first time at Cheddars and I enjoyed my experience that I wanted to come back so when I past by the Cheddars in Katy i stopped by. unfortunately this experience wasn't as good - the restaurant needed to be updated, the service was average, but the food was still decent as we sat down we were offered croissants - it's good we didn't need to ask for them but unlike the first time i went, these croissants were not hot but warm and there was way too much butter. for the meal we started with chips and queso - it says homemade but tasted like it came from a can but still decent; the grilled chicken pecan salad which was huge in portion and was really good; the hamburger which was not good at all in terms of flavor nor taste, the french fries were good though; and the kids grilled cheese + carrots which was also good and a big portion size considering it was for a kid. overall a bit disappointed in my cheddars experience - decent/average food but poor overall experience read more

Took almost 30 minutes for a server to even take our drink order, after already alerting the seating host we had been unattended for over 15 minutes. 3 out of the 4 orders placed were incorrect. First and last time we will do business at a Cheddar's. Unfortunately Kevin Land does not seem to run a tight ship. The cheddars on I 10 and West Green there is a manager there his name is Francisco. He is absolutely the most awful I have ever encountered twice. He had the nerve to tell me to leave because I complained about the rice, not being cooked under the salmon. He yelled at me and was very disrespectful all because I wasn't unhappy customer. I come to this cheddars at least once a week for the past seven years I am so upset with this manager and him wearing the hat a little too hard trying to look big and tough in front of his employees to gain respect rather than trying to help the customer. I will never go there again and he needs to be fired and retrained. Also, obviously the cooks in the back need to be retrained because serving crunchy white rice under the bourbon salmon unless you tell them to please make sure it's cooked all the way and the chicken strips are always cold. If you ask for them to be buffalo sauce, which they keep in the refrigerator and then put on your hot fried chicken strips just to cool them off I think that's crazy. How about you put the sauce to be warmed before you put them on the hot chicken strips just makes sense. Also, the bathroom at the green cheddars is disgusting. It smells like sewer every time I go in there. This is why I always to not sit in the bar area because you can smell feces coming out of there for the past five years it's disgusting. I have never had a problem with any of the other managers there. I normally like this cheddars because I live close to it, but it is really going downhill with management when Francisco is there.. passive aggressive, rude intimidating and will not let you tell anything to him because it's already pass judgment on you. So I did see alot of bad reviews and I can't speak for others but a lot was people being picky as if this is a 4 star restaurant. It's a chain restaurant and for me and my fellow guest the food was solid. Steak,ribs, loaded potato, and coleslaw for 20$ is pretty good considering a double whopper meal comes out to 13$ The waitresses Brittney F, was super cool and did everything a person should do when taking care of a customer.
