It's like a town center (upscale) Applebees, and I don't mean that in a negative manner, but it's just the best way to describe it. After reviewing the menu, it was honestly the croissants that drew us in. I couldn't resist a warm honey butter croissant, and they didn't disappoint. Honestly, it was my fav part of the meal! We ordered the cheese fries as an appetizer, and New Orleans pasta and the ribeye for entrees. The pasta was good, but the shrimp and chicken were kind of over seasoned and extremely salty. The ribeye was good and what you would expect considering the price, but nothing to write home about. Aside from the croissants, I would say the whole experience was mediocre. Service was ok. Food was ok. We were never dissatisfied with anything, but not really impressed either. Possibly the worse restaurant we have been to in the Town Center area. The GM is not paying attention to anything much less the business. They serve a croissant drizzled with icing shortly after your arrival. Sorta like bread that other places serve. They were so undercooked and gooey that we had to ask for some that were cooked. They were so bad with little to no golden brown look to them. I don't know if their corporate chef knows what a croissant is. How do you screw up the first impression? The salmon was eatable but it and the rice were soaked in their bourbon sauce. The baby carrots were cold and tasted like they were candied. Gross! The ice tea couldn't be drunk because it tasted as if there was a pound of granulated sugar in each of our glasses. My fries were served cold too and the rice and beans had a dry look to the top of it as though it had sat under a heat lamp in the kitchen for sometime. The ribs were over cooked and had a grey look to the meat. Had a terrible taste. The only thing that we felt was palatable was the broccoli and cheese. We came today around 3pm and sat down, the place was pretty empty. The waiter was very nice, his name was CJ. unfortunately when I received my steak it tasted like a bleach/cleaning solution, I had my husband taste it and he totally said it was spoiled meat. Once we cut into it more it smelled sooooo bad. The waiter apologized and had the manager over. She said she checked the temperature for the meats and it was just fine. She offered us another meal on the menu and I said no, just take it off the bill. The rest of the food was edible but didn't taste great (thankfully not spoiled) Just kind of unfortunate since this is my second time here and meeting the manager made it seem like she didn't believe us regarding the steak. I had not been to a Cheddars in a few years and went today in Town Center. We were sat by a very pleasant hostess in the bar area at a booth. Our server was attentive and took care of us. She had several tables in the bar area and seemed to take care of everyone. She was very nice and efficient. She immediately brought us some delicious crescent rolls and took our order. I had the grilled whitefish lunch special and my daughter had the Buffalo chicken wrappers. My fish was grilled to perfection and my broccoli was steamed deliciously and was seasoned great. My daughter's chicken wrap was as good as she remembered. In the past, I might have rated Cheddars a 2-3 star where I am from. However, this was my first time eating at the Jacksonville Town Center Cheddars and it was a 5 star for lunch today! We had a very nice lunch here. read more

Cheddar's for lunch. We have a credit card that gives gift cards at restaurants- so had one for Cheddar's. Moved to FL from TX where Cheddar's started so very familiar with this restaurant. Over the years have seen the menu change and with supply chain issues seen some of the portions sizes shrink a bit. I had their blackened white fish served over rice. For sides - coleslaw and broccoli cheese casserole. Everything was excellent. Food perfectly prepared- came out really hot (yep like it should be). Great experience- good food - good prices (even better with that gift card) - clean restaurant and bathroom- great service (Melissa was great) plenty of parking. It's a 5! read more

After about a year, tonight we went to Cheddar's and had a great meal! The bone-in ribeye was delicious and perfectly cooked. The broccoli cheddar casserole was great too. We also had half a rack of ribs added for $10 and they were delicious. Our friend had a full rack of ribs and he was very satisfied. The chocolate cake was humongous and very rich and the ice cream was high quality and flavorful as well. Overall it was a great meal! The service was excellent and the place was spotless. I decided to redo my review on cheddar last time I gave them a 4/5 stars but after yesterday it should definitely be a 3/5. Came to cheddars for dinner cause my fiancé love the carrot cake they have so we went there for dinner. We arrived around 8:20pm got sat pretty quickly. Absolutely no wait time there then it took about 20-25 mins almost 30 mins to have someone even acknowledge us and get our drinks. The section we were in wasn't in busy at all that's the weird part to me how is that side pretty much empty with just 2 other tables have a 30 mins slot for the waitress to come to the table and get our drink order. By the time we got waited by our waitress, we already knew what we wanted cause if we do an appetizer how long will it take for our waitress to come back to grab our order. We order the chicken Caesar pasta salad, baked potato soup, 8oz sirloin with battered shrimp. When our food arrived we were a bit confuse on what happen to the soup thought okay maybe they're still working on it, almost finish the meal when our waitress stopped by and check how we're doing that's when we asked for the soup, she went back there and check on it which when she came back to our table inform us that the kitchen forgot to inform they weren't doing soup today which is kinda bull to me as why have it on the menu if you are gonna do it on specific days. We got our carrot cake like 15-20 mins after we order it the receipt said two spoon should have came with the carrot cake but we didn't get any of that our waitress gave us take out spoon. As well when we wanted a to go box for our carrot cake we waited 15mins for our waitress to come back so we can asked for a box to go but no sign so we had to asked the front desk for one. But overall I'll say the food was okay the chicken Caesar salad was a 8/10 the chicken wasn't the best for the salad. I went here for the first time today for lunch. My neighbor recommended this restaurant to me. The food here is great. I decided to have a few tacos today. They were very good. The service here is really good as well. I also decided to have their fresh guacamole. That, too, was very good as well. For dessert, I decided to have their strawberry shortcake. That was very delicious and moist as well. The ambiance of this restaurant is good, and I really like their retro collection of hubcaps on one of their ceilings. The bathrooms here were very clean. I came in and placed an order to go. First up the service was impeccable! Joshua was so patient with me. This was my first time at a Cheddar's. He impressed me with his service. The food was great. I got cornmeal whitefish, fries and the house salad. Chicken tenders & fried shrimp, a salad, sweet baby carrots and a baked potato. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. For a chain Cheddar's is decent. I really wanted veggies for lunch and I knew that Cheddars had a Veggie Platter on their menu. When I was pregnant that is all I craved. So my sin and I had a lunch date there. We were seated right away and our server was super friendly. She took our order and I got the carrots, green beans, corn off the cob, broccoli casserole, and side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. She came out with the honey butter croissants (so delicious and well baked). The salad came out first. Then the rest. The carrots were steamed perfectly ( not too soft but not undercooked), corn was sweet and buttery, i always love the broccoli casserole, and the green beans were okay a little tough but edible. I like that you can pay the check at the tablet thing on the table, but then we had to wait a pretty long time for a to go box. If your okay with chains this Cheddar l's location is good. read more

The food was amazing! And our waiter was even better. I think his name was Ken(reminded me of an RnB singer). He was funny and made the visit an experience. He should definitely be in upper management because he knew exactly what to do. It was packed inside due to a track meet in town. He was super nice to our kids and shared stories and words of positive encouragement. Tried this place for the 1st time. We ordered the Wisconsin cheese bites, which were delicious. Light, crispy, super yummy. My husband and I both ordered the Pain Killer drink. So good. I can see why they limit 2 per customer!! Be careful they are sneaky!! I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, which was freaking AMAZING!!!! I am a pot pie snob and this was recommended to us to try. It does NOT disappoint. The crust was light and flaky the innards were scrumptious. I would have loved to give 5 stars but my husband ordered the Texas T-Bone, medium and it was over cooked. It was more than well done in most areas except near the bone. He said it wasn't seasoned much either. They serve croissants with a honey or sweet glaze. Very disappointed with our experience tonight. 1st we got seated in the bar area, i think they were short staff. Which was ok, bar tender was very nice and knowledgeable but service was slow because there were lots of patrons in this area. We got bread which was delicious and ordered fried cheese bites that were good. But everything went downhill after this. My daughter ordered a salad and half way through it finds a fly in it. I had the chicken tenders that were not good and barely edible and the honey mustard sauce was horrible. My son in law got the buffalo chicken wrap and he liked it and had plenty leftover to take home. We did tell the bartender after the fly and she took that off our bill. I've been to many other Cheddar's locations on business travel, so I've been meaning to stop in at this location since moving to Jacksonville. There was a short wait, which is expected on a Saturday afternoon so no big deal there. Once we were sat, our server was.....odd. It was one of those "I really don't want to be here" type of tones being used. On top of that, they kept telling us about things they'd screwed up for other customers through the day. It was kind of like "Oh ok, thanks for telling us that? I guess?". They did screw up one thing for us. They put in cheese fries instead of cheese curds for our appetizer. I understand mistakes happen but we had that feeling like "I guess this will go on the list of things they've screwed up today". The really weird thing was they came to tell us about it, then showed us how they made the mistake in the computer. We were just kind of like "Ok? Can we have the cheese curds though"? lol. People have off days, so that's fine. The speed with which our drinks and food were delivered were great. We both liked our entrees and I've always loved the atmosphere at Cheddar's. So overall, it's a 4 star visit that would've been a 5 without the odd ball attitude. read more

The manager and GM were extremely pleasant and made sure everything was perfect with my meal. They are amazing!!! However, the waitress with black hair and ponytails dropped half of our onion rings on the floor. so, we had to wait for new ones to come out. The table was dirty with salt on it. She wiped it off onto the seat and onto my lap. I had new clothes on for today which was Mother's Day. We was seated at a booth to the door. The server didn't even bring us our food. Two other people did. That was disappointing. She gave horrible service. She didn't even refill our drinks. Then, asked us if we wanted to go drinks. Overall, food, manager, and GM were fantastic!!! We got seated pretty quickly for a party of 3 and our server was super nice and fast. Now onto the food review: - Honey Butter Croissants: 10/10 so delicious, warm, crispy, and buttery! It came as a complimentary appetizer but would definitely pay for more next time! - Classic Burger: 8/10 very loaded burger but the only thing I wished was the onions were a bit more cooked but I'm not a big onion fan but you get one choice of side and my cousin went with fries - Country Fried Chicken: 7.5/10 juicy chicken but it was pretty basic, toast tasted good, classic southern gravy, nothing out of the ordinary but a good staple - Chicken Tender Platter: 8/10 classic chicken tenders but crispy and juicy at the same time, I got the hot honey sauce on the side and it's sweet with a nice kick to it - Fries: 7/10 I'm not a fan of thick cut wedge fries but they give you a huge amount so it's filling! - Broccoli Cheddar Casserole: 10/10 so cheesy and delicious, doesn't seem like a lot in the tiny bowl but it's still a good amount read more

Had a couple of snags with our first visit to Cheddar's, but overall it was pretty good. We were quoted a 30-40 min wait, and since we were sans kids decided to wait. Closer to an hour later, we were seated. Tangi took good care of us despite how busy they were. The kitchen was a bit slammed and our order came out entrees first, appetizer second. Not really a big deal. We got the appetizer trio: queso (good), Santa Fe spinach dip (decent) and chicken tenders (weak link - a touch bland and slightly overcooked but some ranch helped with that). Probably unnecessary when our entrees were on the table, and thankfully Tangi comped it. My sirloin tasted good but the sides weren't great. Broccoli rice casserole was a bit dry and green beans were obviously cooked with sugar, not my favorite. I also got some of the bacon wrapped shrimp with the bourbon sauce - they were the best thing I tasted! Hubs got the New Orleans Pasta, which given the parm on top had more of an Italian flavor to me. I did, however, think it was good. So I previously went to here on Saturday and asked for a medium steak and when I cut into it I could tell immediately that it was waaayyyyy too red and it was bloody. My server tried to tell me that that's the color it should and said I wanted medium well but I knew better and asked for it to be cooked more. When he brought it back I could see where the bone was, there was still red seeping through. The portion I had previously cut was obviously cooked better because it had direct heat so I ate that then just continued the night with some drinks and my sides. I took it to go because my husband and I were done for the evening and I was tired. I had a busy next few days so I never got to go back to my leftovers. Now I'm here today trying to eat it for my lunch and it's just raw. So if you ever come here for a steak, it'll taste good, but it won't be cooked properly. read more

Chris was AMAZING!! So polite and attentive to our table without being overbearing or feeling like an interruption, and was always ahead of us on drinks, ready when we got low. Handled us great even while having a huge party at the same time. Answered questions we didn't even think to ask, clearly knows the restaurant and menu well and made sure everything was great! Knowing what requests to ask clarification for (ie extra barbecue sauce being a different flavor than what comes on the ribs, something we never would've thought of but very good to know, both sauces are great but definitely different, likely shocking if you aren't expecting it haha). Our dessert was GORGEOUS, I don't know if that was him but it was amazing. Food was good as well but we left the restaurant talking about how much we loved his service. I and my friends will be returning often even though the location is out of our way just to request him, that's how much he exceeded my expectations. I've had good dining experiences at Cheddars before but he was outstanding. We were there pretty late on a weeknight so it was relatively quick, staff is efficient and inobtrusive but helpful.
