Cheddars is back!!! Years ago we regularly ate cheddars until time after time we would be disappointed. Bland, cold food, long wait times, watered down drinks, smelling weird. Despite many times refusing to go back, I was convinced to go again today. I'm impressed! Restaurant smelled great walking in. We sat immediately and got a drink within 5 minutes of ordering. That's a first. A great drink at that! We all got flavorful warm food withing a timely manner. Service was great! I'm happy to say cheddars is back! The best part, complimentary honey butter croissants!! Last time we were so bummed when we paid for little dry shriveled croissants. These were buttery and flaky just like old times. Service was not super great. My server Elise was preoccupied and seemed swamped though she only had 2 other tables. The food was cold and she forgot some stuff but brought it quickly after I reminded her. The food was amazing and made up for the service I received. I'm not a huge fan of their entrees so I had a few sides. The potato soup, croissants, and broccoli casserole. My son had the Mac and cheese kids meal and a side of mashed potatoes. I can vouch for every single one of those as being absolutely delicious. I will say though that my son wasn't a huge fan of the Mac and cheese, being a 4 year old he is pretty picky about the texture and it was amazing but not a traditional texture. Those croissants were to die for. Perfect texture and delicious sweet butter on top. And dang they make great mashed potatoes. I had a skinny margarita. About $5 and was pretty great. Usually a skinny means a small drink but that thing was huge. Will definitely be back. 45 minutes to an hour wait. On a typical visit that might have worked for us. That said, when I'm going to have a baby any minute and the ONE THING my stir crazy husband can talk me off the couch for is a philly and broccoli from this place, that wait is not going to work. And let's just say that had I been asked by a giant, swollen pregnant woman who obviously was putting a lot of effort into walking if you might possibly JUST this once be able to make an exception to the no call ahead/no reservation rule, I say YES. ImI was a little nervous reading reviews but I really wanted Cheddars. After my experience, I was shocked at the reviews. Maybe new management and employees, I don't know but I'm very satisfied. It's a casual café with casual service and ok food, from my experience. It's ALWAYS packed when we drive by, so we figured that maybe this location was the 'good one'. We arrived around 2:30-3:00 on a Saturday and waited maybe 5 minutes to be seated. Our hostess was very friendly and our waiter(s) were nice enough. One was We had a difficult time flagging people down to get refills and take our order, then eventually get our bill. Food is still ok...it does the job and it was served hot, but it felt very prepackaged and heated up in a microwave. However I did notice that the mashed potatoes I was served still had skins on them, so those may have been fresh made. Price to quantity of food ratio is really good here. You can expect to eat and take a portion home for about $10-$15pp. The food really isn't bad, and would probably warrant three stars on its own if the serving sizes weren't so generous. I used to LOVE Cheddars, making it a weekly event to grab dinner there with friends. It's reasonably cheap- which is amazing in my book of being a college student, and the portions are always leaving me with a to go box. However, as of late, their service as been slacking. Not even busy, just servers not bothering to check in on us. Last time I went(Monday night), it took twenty minutes for our server to get our drink order. The time before that visit, I waited an HOUR for my mudslide and our server kept telling me "it's at the bar, I'll get it in a minute", as I sat there with nothing to drink. I eventually just told her I didn't want it anymore and waited another five minutes for a water. Apart from the service, the food is slowly getting bland with each visit. Nothing new on their menus and nothing that makes me remember what I loved to get again. I'll be giving Cheddars a few more trys, but I'll also be looking for a different weekly spot. read more

This location is horrible. The service was very horrible as well. We were seated and a waiter did not come and greet us. I had to get up and ask who was our waiter. They were alot of waiters standing around and watching the football games that were on and not paying attention to the customers in the restaurant. I feel this location has alot of young people working here who does not know to service customers or know the first thing about great customer service. I been to this location on more than one occasion to see if the service would change and because it's close to our house. I rather drive to the cheddars on I 10 bc it's a totally different feel and vibe. read more

My quick opinion: unless you really like Cheddar's, this restaurant will likely give you a headache from bad service. I have been to this Cheddar's twice. The first time I ordered the chicken fingers at the suggestion of a friend. They were some of the best I have ever had. The second time I ordered a steak. It was late in the night, and aside from being cooked medium well instead of medium(not too big of a deal) it came out covered with the black char from every steak they fired that night before mine. It was so bad I sent it back. The cook came out to discuss the problem and informed me that the char is where the flavor comes from. We were unable to convince him that proper charring did not flake off the steak. I asked him to refute the steak in a pan. It came out ridiculously well done and tough. Food aside, this Cheddar's has some of the most inconsistent service I have ever seen. Our salads came out late, someone's order always comes out wrong, and I have never, never had a manager come by to apologize or more generally ask us how our experience was. These problems are unique to this restaurant and not the entire chain. I have been to another Cheddar's and it had great service. read more

People who think Red Lobster is the cheap date place have clearly never been to a Cheddar's. Whenever my sister and I would crave inexpensive American food that wasn't across town, we would settle for this because not only were prices excellent (I mean, you could literally come here with a $20 bill and leave with change for two people!) but the food was usually pretty good --or at the very least, edible. I can't count how many times we've gone here and ordered our usual spinach artichoke dip appetizer and whatever entrees we fancy for the evening with no problems at all, but it only takes one experience to ruin everything. It happened about six months ago. We started off with our usual appetizer and while she was happily munching along, I dipped into the red salsa that accompanied the dip and lo and behold.... a receipt. Not just any receipt, like it just fell into the salsa on accident, but one that had been sitting in the salsa container for so long that most of the words on the paper were barely legible and one of the few words that we could make out was "RECEIPT." The paper practically took on a new form of life as it was shriveled to almost a half-dollar size (ha, remember those?), soaked red, and 100% masked by the tomato chunks on top of it. Ew. We immediately informed the manager, who so kindly gave us a new thing of salsa (really?), comped our appetizer and hoped that we'll "come back soon!" Lol... lolololol... needless to say, we haven't been back since. PS: On the bright side, food is probably still cheap here and our waitress that night was super nice! After a while we had a server that told us this is not my area but I take your drinks order. I asked to speak with the manager to let him know about the service. Bartenders Sean & Brent were on top of everything even though they were busy they made sure to always ask if we were ok. I don't frequent Cheddar's often but tonight we decided to. The reason I gave it 2 stars was because the mac and cheese along with the white rice we ordered were perfectly cooked. Service however was beyond disappointing! We saw our waitress when we ordered drinks, and placed our order. After that she went MIA for the rest of the night. Despite us trying to flag her down when she passed besides our table it was impossible. We needed our drinks refilled. After minutes and minutes of waiting I asked a different waitress to please find our waitress for us. This different waitress was extremely friendly and even apologized on her behalf. I forgot her name, I apologize. She came back saying she had looked for her but couldn't find her and asked what it was we needed and that she would be happy to get it for us. We thanked her and asked for tea. We were done with our dinner and like I mentioned before, we never saw our waitress. It wasn't until we were ready to pay and leave that once again I asked the different waitress to please help us check out as we were ready to leave. She once again apologized as she could not check us out as the tab was under our waitress' log in. My former review stated that I would not be back, but I did go back. My second visit inspired me to change my review! As the service is still pretty awful, the food was excellent! Let's get started on the service breakdown though. My server's name was Dalon or Damien or something like that. He was nice, but he either seemed inexperienced or lazy. His tables were all flagging him down constantly. He would disappear for ten minutes at a time. The hostess wasn't at the podium when we came in, so we waited patiently. After about ten minutes, a server asked how long we'd been waiting and said "oh, okay." And walked off to clean some tables with out seating us. I was not the only one dissatisfied with the service. Each table in this section was complaining about it. I might be back again though, hoping to get better service. The food though, is too good to walk away from. read more
