My husband and I decided to come back here again after bad service and try it out. Well I am so sorry we did. We got sat quickly enough and received our salads and soup. We finished those and waited for our main course, two steaks. They came out and asked us to cut into the steaks. They were not even close to what we ordered. So we sent them back. We waited another 20 minutes (almost and hour by now in a non busy restaurant) and when the kitchen manager came out with the steaks he asked for us to cut into them. Mine was still mooing. I had blood running all over the plate looking as if they had killed the cow right on my plate. That was very unappetizing. I asked to speak to the manager and we waited again. I thought from the corner of my eye I saw the meat move as if it was still alive. We had to ask 4 different people before the manager nonchalantly walked over to our table. Now by this time you think she would have some sense of urgency, but she didn't seem to care. I showed her my steak and said this was ordered medium. She took one look at it and stated "That's not medium. I can barely look at that." Uh duh, what gave it away the bloody pool that had congealed on the plate, mixing with the onion straws to make it look like intestines? She told us she was sorry and that she was willing to cook the steaks herself. I told her third time isn't the charm, and to just take it back. She then proceeded to tell us that she could make the steak in 10 minutes and if she was able to do that then she would have had the kitchen so that when it came back the first time. She stated she took care of our bill (Yes because the soup and salad and water was going to bankrupt you), and we left. I see the stars and positive reviews for the restaurant, but that was not our experience either time we have been here. If you are part vampire or for some reason like blood this is your place. If you want a good meal that comes out the way it is supposed to with great service... go somewhere else. read more

My husband and I normally try to stay away from chain restaurants because I do a lot of reviews for online sites that don't allow reviews of chains and because we believe in helping out the small business owners in whatever area we are visiting. But, when Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen came to the area and I heard people commenting on the quality of food, I had to check it out for myself. So, we went on a crazy Saturday night when you would expect the wait to be ridiculous and we only waited seconds before being seated. The menu was extensive with a wide variety of choices. I opted to stay with something light and healthy whereas my husband picked something fried and maybe not so healthy. It only took a short while before the food was delivered and it was delicious. A person that eats out enough can tell a big difference between frozen, pre-packaged foods (like Applebees) but this food was neither. My salad was fresh and light, the rice was cooked to perfection (most places serve it still a little crunchy- which I hate- and the chicken was moist and the shrimp was plump and perfectly grilled - no microwaving involved. Cheddar's is known for its "made from scratch" which will go a long way with people that love a home cooked meal. The only downfall I noticed was the noise and the busy atmosphere. If someone is looking for quiet and intimate - this is not the place. Especially when the people seating next to you think the whole restaurant should be interested in what they are saying and are shouting. I wanted to say - no one cares about your new kitchen, so tone it down. But, all-in-all, I find myself craving it and wanting to go back. Might break-down and do that soon. read more

Worst combination of food and service I've had in a very long time. Ordered a couple of beers first, that took a while to get, in their mean time our server came back and asked for our order. Where's the drinks??? Dunno; anyway ordered food got it, by that time I'd drank my beer. Someone else brought our food so had to wait till we could flag someone down to get something to drink. My wife got her meal a ribeye that was spoiled. Of course she gave me a bite of it right up front, had to toss it around in my mouth for a few moments before I ejected it from my mouth. Normally loveeee this place. Sadly last time we came was not as good as experience as past times have been. Our server was great very professional and made sure our table had everything we needed. The manager that came up to us on the other hand was not as nice or friendly. Our nachos which we always get when we come this time was extremely Spicy hot and never has been before and the manager( mark) came out of the kitchen with an attitude and argumentative about the nachos. The dish I would recommend when coming to this restaurant would be the chicken Caesar salad pasta. The salad is light while the noodles add to it with their salt and the chicken on top helps bring protein to your meal. And the croissants that they bring as an appetizers are to die for. They have honey and sugar melted on the hot croissant which they also add to some of their drinks. Food is good and prices are OK but the carry out is ridiculously bad no one ever answers your call I have three separate times where I've been on the phone for 10 minutes waiting for the bartenders to take my order. They need to set up someone to handle carry out orders NOT the bartenders. I always tip the bartender for carry out orders, but I don't think a lot of people do and so they have zero interest in handling your order promptly and correctly it is a major issue and it's very annoying to try to order carry out in it take 10 minutes on hold and eight people answering the phone telling you hold on a minute hold on a minute. The other day when I was there someone else came and complained about the "carry out specialist" hung up on them after I airing 10 minutes. Which has also happened to me. The management needs to hire a specific person to handle carry out at least for the busy hours during dinner or lunch. read more

Always order catfish when I come there and I can't ever get it fresh or on time w the other meals so definitely no excuse if it's taking longer the food should be at least warm. Also for the wait I wouldn't recommend because there's a reason loosely service and seems like the servers are spread out or just not aware of were the food most be going too. I think we just got lucky we arrived right before they started to get busy.....so, I think the wait could be longer than ours...I'm not super excited or impressed about it. It's average, which is what I would expect from a chain restaurant. If you don't know what to get when you go, then you should just order their chicken strips. One order can easily be shared with two people. The batter of the chicken strips was pretty light, the chicken strips were huge!!! I went as a party of 8 for my daughters sweet 16 birthday and we were seated in great time. The hostess and the staff were so accommodating. The place was clean and perfect for the dinner I planned. My waitress was the best waitress anyone could have asked for, while the kids were busy eating their appetizers which btw are amazing, I pulled the waitress to the side and asked if they had any special cake or something for my daughter along with a candle. She was upset to find out that we didn't have any candles and that give her a moment while she arranged something. I obviously thought I would get the same ol " sorry no we do not" instead at the end of our wonderful tasty dinner she brings out not one but 2 chocolate cakes with ice cream and candles that she went and got herself from a store, that people is going above and beyond and for that reason I will continue to go to cheddars! Even worse everyone inside is wearing coats and then you ask them to turn the air off and they look at you stupid. Why do they not notice the customers are cold. I was surprised with how busy everywhere including Cheddar's was on Black Friday, not really surprised of the business , but for how fast we had a table and a service and drinks in front of us. The server was awesome recommend the perfect drink and had an amazing attention to detail and had the menu down! Any question she had an answer the made it sound even more impressive then the menu itself. Kylee took care of us and management stopped by to make sure everything was above standard.
