It was pretty empty, and the service was pleasant and fast. My companions enjoyed a steady flow of coffee, and the food was good all around. Nothing fancy, but good, basic home cooking. This comment regards the Bob Evans at 5525 Wilmington Pike, Centerville. Our server, It was around 6:00p on Saturday, January 3rd when we decided to try out a Bob Evans we had never been to before. Alexis was our server. She tended to takito ng my wife and my order in a timely manner, however, even though the restaurant was barely half filled with customers, it took _more than 20 minutes_ to be served a turkey dinner and bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. When the meals were presented, _the turkey dinner was room temperature. The dinner had obviously been sitting on the counter cooling off which also explains the slow service. There was no effort to bring cream after she asked if I wanted some. I had to ask another server to bring the cream. I will check out YELP in the future before thinking of coming to this Bob Evans or any other Bob Evans due to their poor ratings. I feel I wasted my money ($34 plus tip) for such lousy service. When I commented to the manager passing by our table that my food was cold, she asked if I wanted her to heat it up. At that point I had eaten half of the meal, but told her if she'd bring me some mashed potatoes to replace the cold ones, she complied. She walked by our table and cavalierly slid the small plate onto the table and walked away all in the same motion - with no conversation. I took a small bite and burned my tongue! She should have warned me the mashed potatoes were extraordinarily hot, but she also should have stopped at our table and apologized for the cold food. After dining here with my wife, we understand why the BE restaurants are 2.5 and even lower. Save your hard earned money and get a much better dining experience at the many other optional restaurants in the Dayton and surrounding area. read more

We ordered the Thanksgiving meal this year the one that feeds 8-10 it was all amazing everyone was very happy with everything. I didn't get pictures but it was so easy had directions on how to warm everything up. Plus if you figured up the price of food & time you do it it was worth it. I highly recommend doing it we were able to spend time with each other & not be in the kitchen for hours. Very happy with our thanksgiving meal gonna definitely do it again so worth it. What is the deal with this location? The last two times we've gone we went and had a great experience. Our waitress (Kenley) was awesome! Super friendly and quick with the orders/refills... today we had Abby. No smile , barely spoke. We waited 45 minutes and still hadn't received our food! People coming in after us by 20 minutes were eating as we left! The manager (Gabby) didn't have much in the way of excuses as we left. Sad. We left and went to the Bob Evans on Far Hills. They were also rude to PaPaw Who is an elderly individual. He clearly does not know how to use computers too well and when he was prompted for a tip The waiter seemed very agitated that he did not know how to use a computer. Like. Seriously. Get over yourself. Can't complain about the food except for the fact that PaPaw received day old biscuits. Also what type of restaurant charges $12.50 for candles? I mean they smell good but so do Walmart's, and those are only five dollars. Bacon was crispy. Bread was fluffy. Biscuits not so much. Think all Bob Evans restaurants are alike? Think again. My husband's grandfather preferred this one to all others. He drove here most days for breakfast even though there was another Bob Evans much closer to his home. The waitresses all knew him and called him "Mr. Ed" and whenever we visited we were treated like celebrities. Shortly after my husband and I got married was my first visit to this Bob Evans and as soon as we sat down at the table one of the waitresses said, "and you must be DeDe, Nick's new wife!" Remarkable. While I am not a Bob Evans connoisseur, the food here always came second to the company. But I have to say I always enjoyed my pancakes and/or eggs with bacon and grits. The coffee is free flowing and the waitresses always do a good job of remembering who has decaf and who has regular. Nick's grandfather passed away last month and it's unlikely we'll have many occasions to go back to his favorite Bob Evans. But if you ever drop in, make sure you tell them that "Mr. Ed's" family enjoyed our meals here and appreciated the special attention we always received. read more

So I was torn between 2-3 but it was closer to a two so that's what I'll go with I took my son here for breakfast yesterday we were greeted and seated quickly but our server took ten minutes to say hello and take drink order she came back with our drinks we both ordered and she was very polite joked with my son for a second and took off it took 50 minutes to get our food!! Noticed after my food was gone that there was a hair on my plate. Men's bathroom was dirty and the tables were not getting cleared though it seemed like there was plenty of staff available but they were standing around talking. The issue was when I went in there they told everyone they just received an order for 133 people and it had to be done within an hour so it was prioritized ahead of everyone else who had been waiting. I witnessed 3+ people walk out because they were told it would be about a 30 minute wait for their carry out and they ended up waiting an hour or more. Then I, myself walked out after waiting about 20 minutes because I knew I would have been there an hour or more if waited. This location is really spotty as far as service and food quality. You are definitely rolling the dice; when it's an 'on' night, they can be a solid 3 / 5 stars. It's when it's an off night when you experience really poor service recovery. There's a lot of competing restaurants around this area, so you might consider one that is a bit more consistent. read more

Manager is terrible. I was their having breakfast with family and a customer right behind me was using a cell phone for face time talking very loud and the face time person was as well. Other people were looking at this person. I went and asked the manager if she could have the person go outside to face time and she said no . I asked her for a discount, she said no. This person was so loud it was difficult to talk with family at table. Manager waited until end of meal to ask if we wanted to move. I told manager that I was not a satisfied guest, she did not care at all. She should not be a manager. I will never eat here again. I emailed corporate they did not seem to care either.
