The employees seemed friendly, and it seemed like a nice placeto. After waiting for the new screen to arrive, installation was fast but the cost was well above the quote. When I brought it hom, I learned that the battery was completely unplugged, and had to return for the part to be fixe. I returned once more because it wasn't turning on- this was, according to them, a pre existing issue with the OS that they fixed for free. About a week after the screen was repaired, it stopped functioning. Black and unresponsive. They quoted me an additional fee to fix the screen they said they would fix. I'm being double charged for something that isn't my fault. Tomlin was slower, more expensive, and less able to fix my issues than the competitors I ignored because they were too expensive. The first one, could not tell you who, told me the fan was built-in to the hard drive and could not be replaced. Bummer! The second to call was Erik from Pikesville PC. He wanted me to drop my computer off. He works out of he home. At first it was a little awkward (don't know why because I also work out of my home) but it turned out to be a good call. He replaced my fan, as well as did some extra clean up to make my computer work better. Apparently he's been doing this for quite some time because my computer is working great! The honest diagnosis and quick time for this were invaluable to me - he even did not charge me a fee for his time to diagnose and attempt a simple fix for my laptop. I also brought in another laptop for memory upgrade which he was able to do while I waited in the shop. His prices were most fair and even beat those on ebay too. I also was pleasantly surprised to find that he had refurbished laptops for sale at reasonable prices. Bottom line for me is that for any PC or laptop issues me, family, or friends may have - it's going to be Doctor Polo's for sure. The shop is in Owings Mills off Gwynns Mills Court and he keeps late hours during the week and most weekends too.
