The drinks however are still reasonably priced but not so cheap. The last time i came here I got the scorpion bowl and two shots -- blue balls and blow job. WHY did i do that to myself? Even though I shared the bowl, it still took a toll on me.. The shots were made well and so was the bowl. there was just enough alcohol in it. The atmosphere is very musty and unwelcoming even though they do have a pool table but this is one of those places where you pre-game and leave! The last time I was here was over 2 years ago. Last night I finally went back and we all had a great time. It's a nice place to go if your just looking for something to do. The music was good for the type of crowd that was there. The drinks specials are always good , I opened a tap for the night and didn't even spend much. YAY! First to review! This spot gets 3.5 stars. I can't give it 4 since they were disorganized for a friends birthday bash, which was supposed to be taken care of in advanced. Good casual, "close to home", or "second to last resort" kind of place. If you're going out and don't feel like getting trendy for the night, and heading out to the city, or spending a lot of cash on some drinks, this is your dig. Decent sized bar, though the bartenders can be spotty. They also have DJ's, nightly specials, and booths to sit and chill at. One thing I really like about this spot is the diversity of the crowd, 30's upper 20's, whatever! Everyone is bumping to the same music, and enjoying the night. I duno why this bar was said to be "low class" like an earlier yelper said, but I like this bar. It's low key for the most part but it has a DJ spinnin on the weekends and can bring more of a lounge feel. I went there with 2 of my friends and I guess because we looked young, we were treated differently. I waved my hand so the bartender can see me and the white bartender had an attitude talking about give her a second because shes busy and after making a few drinks I saw her laughing with a guy saying shes not serving us. Then theres a short black bartender that goes around doing the "dick shots" that ignored me because she was talking to another guy then laughed and said "oh I was looking over there sorry." The only nice one was the spanish bartender, she was so sweet that I decided to tip her because she knew what they were doing was wrong. Why can't we get served? Our server/ bartender is too busy ignoring and eating her break food. I asked for a beer but was told she'd asked already and I ignored HER? I don't know who pissed in her Cheerios, but her attitude is not business friendly. It took 20 minutes to get a food order in! This place is usually nice on Sunday NFL nights!! Cheap Shots the name says it all. Well I intended to write this review along time ago. So I am not too sure if they have made any changes. This is my first choice for a dive bar in Queens. I went about on a Tuesday afternoon. It was fun the bartender was kind, nice and cheerful. She explained to us about the pricing on different dates. They actually spill alittle in your glass. They have the most funny names for the drinks. Most of the St. Johns College student may roam here and that kinda give you a back to school feeling .. not that its a bad feeling. You can definitely dance and shot some pool and relax. Problems, with the bar is that it can stand to b a little more cleaner and less sticky. Well then again it is a dive bar. This place has ok Bartenders, but the bouncers are very sketchy. When I went there, one of the security guards asked for I.D and then another one looked at me and told me there was a 20 cover. Meanwhile the other security looked confused. I didn't give him a 20 since he didn't ask anyone else. He told me I had to pay a cover because I didn't come in with a female. No live party nothing, I sat at the bar and ordered some drinks then rudely got asked to move because supposedly the seats were held for someone. This place has been nothing but trouble to the neighborhood since these new owners bought out the former Galloping Green. Last spring, as I was waiting for my food from Peter's Kitchen next door I overheard one of the workers/owners installing the awning bragging to an older local woman who had asked what was on the awning*. "It's picture of a lady (a silhouette actually) passed out. What do you think?" As if it was some work of art that belonged at the MoMA. I knew these people were LOW CLASS. *The awning has since been taken down. This place attracts people from the wrong side of the tracks. Week after week especially during the weekends there are several police cruisers that have to come and break up fights and disperse the mobs of thugs. These people clearly have no respect for the law or themselves. I live on the top floor of an apartment half way down the street and I STILL can hear them LOUD AND CLEAR. It's like I'm watching an episode of Maury at 4am. Yo I like Gang-starr, Biggie Smalls, DRE like anyone else.. just not at 5am in the morning from your sh~tty ass hoopty sound system. I'm new to the neighborhood and have been here several times in the past few weeks. Love it! The bartenders are friendly and attentive, they play Netflix and/or sports on the tv's, it's never too crowded, and a pint of Guinness only runs me $2.50. They don't serve food, but have no issue with you bringing in something from outside. They'll even provide you with local take-out menus and order it for you! cool queens dive bar.... this place is bigger than i expected. nice size bar area, small pool table area, nice size dancing area (it wasnt that packed when i went), and a few booths for seating. I went on a saturday day, dj was good playing hip hop, reggae, reggaetton, and bruno mars/chris brown stuff....nice mix! Funky lights, cool crowd (mostly st.johns university peeps). We sat at a booth, waitress was great! drinks are good.....6 bucks ish. they have fun names and mixes. they also have fun shots.....like cum shot and blow job. Our group had a round of the blow jobs...they were great!....my friends had long island ice teas, and were very happy to say the least!...lol the place: this place is straight bar status...nothing fancy! like its a chill nite spot or a pre-game spot (drinks are super cheap). This is definitely a bar for the younger crowd. I came here this past Saturday with a friend, and while it was empty when we first came in we didn't mind. The music was great, we loved the DJ. The drinks were great, they were very strong but we enjoyed them immensely. It started to get crowded with younger people later on in the night which I loved, the music stayed great and bounced between current stuff and reggae. I've been to many dive bars in the city. Frankly this one has no justification for charging a 10 dollar cover when it's in the middle of queens when there's not really much going on.
