    Portuguese Restaurant

I have been in this location and order from Uber Eats . It's an authentic Portuguese and Spanish Restaurant that's newer the Van Wyck expressway . The service was excellent . It reminds me of old Spanish Restaurants you would find in Spain . Comfy and cozy . There is also a bar . The dish I come here for is Paehla Marinheira (sp) and it's generally made for 2 . It's expensive but it comes with lobster , crab and mussels . I've also had the linguine with seafood which is flavorful with clams , mussels and shrimp over linguine . You can order both dishes online as well . The calamari is good ! The dish I love is the shrimp piri-piri . They take credit cards and before I forget try the Peach Sangria! They are open for lunch and dinner .

I had a great time at the bar area. The calamari and drink were great! I ended up staying for hours and they did not rush us out of the place.

Food was excellent! Been here once before and was not disappointed but this time around everything was delicious. It does get very busy and loud on weekends. Don't leave without trying the bolo de chocolate. It's the best I've ever had!

Old Portuguese place in Jamaica. Small parking lot. Good sangria, strong and fruity. Got the seafood paella. It was ok, but nothing to write home about. Patrons looked old school and locals, popular place. Bar on other side of restaurant. Maybe I needed to try other dishes.

Eh , We came by because I was craving paella and so I found this "authentic Portugal and Spain restaurant so we decided why not .... Its a neighborhood restaurant so you'll probably only find people who work or live nearby dining here so its never really crowded and I see why . its looked like a traditional restaurant, wood, bright lights, red napkins .... You know , traditional- that I didnt mind . The service wasn't bad , actually service was great. The hostess /waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable and accommodating. We ordered cod fish cakes (where in my opinion you can totally skip) and peri peri shrimp (tasty home made dish, great to dip some garlic bread with) and of course my paella . Let's just say they need learn how to execute flavors in that rice dish better . I had to go home and add so many things that were missing (from the saffron to the simple garlic) the food was bland . And worse yet, rhetorical lobster wasn't cleaned so we bit into ... YUCK. Its probably my fault, who craves paella and expect to find a good one super random in NYC (obviously me/ especially since we ARE IN THE MELTING POT CITY) Over all however it was 3 stars . The drinks at the bar weren't bad . They serviced with a smile and it's a great no frills restaurant to bring a larger party . Sadly I wont be back .

First time, have yo say the staff was very welcoming. Had a reservation so was seated right away, ordered drinks which wasn't all that, that's why I'm giving them a 4star. Could have done better on the drinks. Our food didn't take very long to come, but boy oh boy. The food was definitely delicious. The seafood dish, was great, just needed some more flavor. Then we went to the bar section which we had an amazing time! Loved when the rang the bell when it's a birthday. We were able to request our own songs! Great place, vibes were nice.

Another amazing dinner at O Lavador! The service was fantastic. The food was amazing. The crème brûlée was perfect. The restaurant is always clean and never too loud, which is great for an intimate dinner.

The broad Bronzino is excellent. We found the staff to be very friendly in the general vibe at the bar was also festive. We also had the paella that has a combination of meat and seafood. While attractive represented, it was a little short on flavor. We needed to add salt and pepper sauce to spike it up.

    Crisp, juicy wings to go.

I highly recommend the all-you-can-eat rodizio and the branzino, but honestly everything there is delicious. And don't even get me started on the desserts--Heavenly Whites... OMG!! Simply incredible.

The most…read morewell known chain for this spot is Nando's with a few in DC but there's none of them here. There's a a couple of these spots with the original one being in Middle Village (in queens) but there's also a few other locations as well. I went here with one of my less common groups to sample some of the tasty food here. The head was ordering for us as he had a mild/moderate spice tolerance so we stuck with the less heat focused options but it was still tasty. The service was alright being pretty friendly but not with the best English. I presume the guy spoke Portuguese or something similar. The drink selection has a good soda fountain with more unique options than most. We started with the hummus listed as hummus with a drizzle of peri peri sauce and served with nachos or pita bread. We got it with pita and it was fine. The hummus had a fun spice kick from the peri peri but had some of the creaminess you'd associate with a hummus. I presume they don't make in house but the peri peri was a nice touch. We got two of the Whole Grilled Chickens, Lamb Chops, and the Beef Bites as the main. The former was with a mix of mild and the garlic and herb. The chicken was pretty sauce and quite tasty. A bit of heat but not much as expected but they did have some sauces on the table which helped kicked it up a bit. The lamb chops we got with mango and lime. You couldn't taste the lamb much from the sweet sauce but it was tender and tasty. Pretty solid but tiny chops for the price. If you're looking for something more substantial based on price, the beef bites with flame grilled bite size beef served with rice & salad or fries was probably the most filling. We got the lemon & herb for the beef and the beef could have been a bit more tender but it still had a tasty sauce. For sides, the Grilled Cauliflower was probably the best of the group also having some peri peri on it. The Seasoned Fries were also very tasty with a tiny kick. The Coleslaw was luckily not that watery but lacked a bit of flavor and the Spicy Rice wasn't that spiced and the salad was standard with a creamy dressing. It's hard to rate this spot. The chicken was solid and the food overall was pretty tasty but I find the prices a tad high for just about everything with especially the sides being overpriced for the sizes. Still solid though and I can see why it's liked by a lot of people. Mid 3?

I still get the mixed kebab because the all you can eat is way too much for me. Don't sleep on the collard greens. I would order an extra serving so you can mix them with eggs in the morning. Did we wait an hour for our table? Yes, but it was well worth it. There was a spot at the bar where we can chill and all catch up with the peeps we hadn't seen in a min. It was nice to have that time because there was silence when we sat and got our food. We were hungry. One thing I will say, they took away the bowls of olives. I mean I was probably the only one that looked forward to them, so I get it. But holla at me if you feel the same way. Until next year Carvalhos

They do not take reservations on the weekends so be prepared to wait 35-40 minutes for a table since it tends to get packed in the evening. They do have a big bar to have a drink and wait in the meantime. The staff is very friendly and attentive which I loved, they made sure our table was clean and our drinks were filled. Now the food, their appetizers that they bring to the table were just ok; the sweet plantains, rice and beans were pretty good. The French fries were undercooked which no one at the table touched. The salad could have used a little more color but the dressing was really good. The meats themselves were good but could better. I really enjoyed their picanha; it was cooked a perfectly medium. It was juicy and flavorful. The chicken legs and turkey wrapped in bacon were so delicious and well seasoned. When it came to the skirt steak, short ribs and other cuts of meat, I felt like they were on the drier side and not as tasty. They never asked how we liked it cooked (medium or well done) so we just got whichever temperature they were served. I was also disappointed they didn't have chicken hearts since I always look forward to those when I go to a rodizio. Each person rodizio is $54 which is definitely on the higher end and the prices on their website are outdated. I would probably not return; there are more affordable rodizio with higher end cuts.
