Very disappointing dining experience on graduation day. Limited and extremely overpriced menu. Food took over 45 minutes to come out after ordering. $48 salmon and accompanying pasta was dry for everyone who ordered it. $12 side of broccoli was rock hard. Best dish was the Truffle Fries. We went for dinner. Cesar salad, minestrone soup, lasagna bolognese and risotto with jumbo shrimp. A cannoli for dessert. Sadly, only the coffee was decent. This is pretty standard fare at any Italian restaurant and should be a home run every time. The risotto was gummy, indicating it was sitting around for a long time. The shrimp was overcooked, lasagna was overly bright with tomato, indicating a bolognese with no depth and the salad dressing was a paste. The soup was a pasta meal. Minestrone should have little pasta and be all about the vegetables. I asked what dessert was made in-house and was told the cannoli. It too was sub par, oddly flavored with almost fudge like marscapone filling. It's a small menu, so one would think it would be easy to accomplish well. Our server forgot drinks, brought soup out at the same time as the meal, and messed up our check. Also, after she removed our plates, instead of asking us if we would like any dessert or coffee, just said, "Are you ready for your check?" What the heck! No - we wanted dessert and coffee. Che Bello was a great dining experience. We sat at the bar and were wowed by well known mixologist, Logan and his team. The food was outstanding, and the attentive service matched well. The mushroom appetizer was fantastic. I had the pork tenderloin which was a creative twist on a chicken parm. The mrs. had Chicken Liguria and she enjoyed that immensely. Wrapped up with the Canoli, which definitely did not disappoint. The work that the team did on this space, is also outstanding. So embarrassingly awful it's almost humorous, except for the $300 bill. Went her this evening for our parents annual Christmas dinner. Every other thing we ordered the poor waitress had to come back and tell us they were out of, even simple, common things: steak sauce, artichoke dip appetizer, Crown Royal (?), and even more than that. We ordered from whatever they had left and all plates were a huge disappointment. I ordered the shrimp scampi which was (no exaggeration whatsoever) some generic white spaghetti, uncooked broccoli, and a few shrimp that were barely touched by the green pesto sauce that was described. There's no way the chef, or whoever was preparing the meals, sent my scampi out with a straight face. I could have pulled together whatever I could find in my pantry and whip something up significantly better than what I paid $22 or so dollars for here. The waitress apologized and was able to get our appetizers taken off our bill without us asking. Kudos to her for that, but this place should legitimately be embarrassed. It's unfortunate this is where we chose for our annual holiday dinner.
