Come as soon as you can! Hot. Honey. Fried. Chicken. Taco. Yes that is the April 2025 taco of the month and it is perfection. My vote is this being added to the menu year round! ‍‍‍ The atmosphere is classic new fusion Mexican - and continently located in the square. (Bonus points for booth seats.) Service was so much faster than we anticipated! For a busy Saturday afternoon we got our food fresh and fast fast fast !!

Lunch "on the square" downtown B-town. Olivia my waitress is very prompt and on top of refills. I ordered the Korean bowl as a salad and also the guacamole and chips. They have excellent guacamole. The crunchiness of the fried chicken on the salad is perfect and all the crunchy vegetables to go along with it. Could've used a little more lettuce greens to make it a hearty salad. I wasn't sure about the fried egg, especially with the yolk running, but it really added another layer of flavor and uniqueness. The crunchiness of all the vegetables, the pickled carrots, the radishes, the cucumber adds a nice touch of crunch. If you're ever in Bloomington Indiana need to check this place out it's really good open till 11 AM Sunday through Thursday and 1 AM Friday and Saturday. I'm sure since it's a college town. The dining room is really nice decorated unique and sitting outside on the sidewalk and eating is an added treat. Great atmosphere. Fun and festive ‼

Took 15 mins to get waters. Red salsa tastes closer to tomato paste. Slowest service for a Thursday night. Strawberry marg tastes like Naturdays. The Cajun Shrimp and Crab taco has no crab.

I was in Bloomington this weekend and went here for a late lunch. The place was not full at all when we arrived at noon. It is big inside, open area with tons of seats. Our waiter was great and went through some of the items on the menu. We had the tacos, pork belly and ahi tuna. Both were decently portioned, filled me up, and tasted great. I would highly recommend trying this place out.

I was in town visiting my son and we went to Social Cantina for a late lunch. The entire place was empty, so we were the only customers. The staff were all friendly, the restaurant was very clean, and it had an interesting vibe. We ordered the chicken enchiladas, chips and queso, chicken verde bowl, the despacito bowl, shrimp bowl, fried avocado tacos, and shrimp and corn taco. Chips do not come complimentary, just an fyi. They did accidentally prepare two orders of chips and queso and did give us the second one for free. All of our meals were good but I wasn't blown away. I would, however, visit again and try more of their tacos.

Great drink menu with several types of margaritas. Be warned -- the Bee Sting is no joke! I love a spicy margarita, but it was almost too much for me (but still very good). The bartenders were fantastic -- terrific service, good drink recommendations, and even though they appeared to be pretty swamped (and barely old enough to be serving alcohol!), they kept their cool and were very friendly & professional the entire time. The food was delicious, and I had such a hard time deciding what to order because everything on the menu sounded so good. I was tempted by the tacos, but opted for the ahi tuna-stuffed avocado because it was something I've never seen on any other menu before. It was very good, but I do wish there had been a bit more tuna and less cream cheese. It seemed like more of a cream cheese-stuffed avocado than tuna-stuffed. I loved the ambiance of the bar and got a kick out of the 90s hip-hop music, even though it seemed a bit out of place for a Mexican restaurant. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Bloomington to try those tacos!

The second visit was okay. First, the best parts: the cocktails were delicious and I loved trying a few of the different spirits when our server brought us samples to try. Also, the patio atmosphere was lovely as the weather was perfect for both visits. The bingo was also a lot of fun! Overall, the food was good, but on our second visit the service was incredibly slow. Our server told us that the kitchen was running behind, but our friends were at the table next to us (with a different server) and they ordered when we did and had finished eating before our food even arrived - and I had to go find someone to inquire about it as our server never returned after dropping off drinks. She did apologize and take an item off the bill and hand us a few drink coupons which was appreciated, but the experience had put a damper on our enthusiasm (especially after we told the rest of our party how awesome the place was). Will I go back? Yes, but maybe with tempered expectations.

Without the patio open though, I can see it filling up easily. The atmosphere is fun (board games!) and bright but somewhat industrial with the distillery next door. The staff was friendly and very enthusiastic but just a little overbearing for me. The samples they brought around of two of their spirits (a gin and amaro) were very good and much appreciated. As appealing as the cocktails sounded, I didn't feel like drinking, so I got the Last Call mocktail. I couldn't pick up much 5 spice, but it was still a pleasant and refreshing light drink. I had a sip of my parents' old fashioned and Smokin' in the Girls' Room, and those were both really good - I was really into the lapsang souchong tea-infused rum in the Smokin' in the Girls' Room and would've ordered it for myself if I'd been drinking. To eat, I had a mushroom melt (the veganized version with vegan cheese) with the OMG fries. I really liked the sandwich; I loved the giardiniera and the jus, and you usually can't get that sort of thing in a vegetarian or vegan sandwich, so I was really happy to have it here and thought it was done well. The OMG fries were also really good. I don't like fries if they're plain, but these were heavily seasoned with a delicious spice blend. The vegan version of the fries omits the truffle aioli that they normally come with, but they were plenty flavorful with just ketchup. We shared a Thai tea creme brulee for dessert. I am crazy about Thai tea so I expected to like this, and it was everything I hoped for. The tea flavour was nice and strong, and the tapioca pearls were a nice little enhancement. They do an auto-gratuity of 20% no matter the party size, which I'm not completely opposed to, but I think if you're doing that you at least need to have a note on the menu rather than have the waiter tell you as they're giving you the bill, or better (in my opinion) to just raise the prices by 20% and sell yourself as a no-tipping restaurant. But it wasn't a huge deal in this situation; our waitress was good and we would've left a good tip anyway.

We loved the atmosphere though - the building is kind of interesting and the decoration was very classy. Maybe the main area was a little loud, but we ended up seated in a semi-private room with one other table, so we had relative quiet. It was dim but not in a bad way. All of the staff was very friendly. Our waiter was attentive and enthusiastic but didn't come across as trying to upsell us. Drinks were excellent. I usually just go for beer, but the cocktail menu looked really interesting, so I got a cocktail was very glad I did. I got the rye-based "boss fight", which was very strong with unique, complex flavours. I also had many sips of my dad's earl grey cocktail - also very interesting and delicious - and my mom's "problem child" with non-alcoholic gin. They have a really nice non-alcoholic drink menu with different NA spirits too. Food was equally excellent. We got the muhammara appetizer, I had the butternut agnolotti for my entreee, and we shared a chocolate and a vanilla-cranberry bread pudding for dessert. My dad said the muhammara was one of the best dips he's ever had. The middle eastern flavour was a little different from stuff you usually get at American restaurants, and it was presented very nicely with different garnishes. The blue cheese cream sauce on the agnolotti was also a little different and really complimented the flavour of the squash. The bread pudding may have been the best bread pudding I've had in a restaurant - it was very moist but wasn't too sweet or too rich. The chocolate cake was kind of like an oreo cake with the thick vanilla frosting and cookie crumbs - not your generic chocolate cake with white frosting, but conventional enough that I think it would make anyone happy. Maybe the portions of the entrees alone are a little small, but I think they were the right size to enjoy along with a shared appetizer and dessert. Considering that, the prices are okay for upscale dining.

When I order a $20+ hamburger I just expect more. But it's a beautiful location and the service is fine. If you like a few cocktails with your meal and are interested in the atmosphere likely as much as the food, it's probably a great option. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries and a coke. The coke was a bottle (if you follow me you know my thoughts on this) and my cheeseburger was cooked perfectly, though the amount of bacon was minimal at best. The fries were amazing. My wife ordered the chef's chicken special (sorry I'm not sure what it was called exactly) and she liked it but didn't love it. Our server was very nice but it did take a bit to get initial service and the pace of the meal seemed slow given it wasn't very crowded when we were there. All in all, it was a fine meal but not my favorite in town. If I want a burger there are better options at more reasonable price points.

I've enjoyed food, beverages, and a tour of the distillery at Cardinal Spirits before, so I jumped at the chance to sign up for the event. The bar/dining area served as the spot for Fuzzy Zoeller, Champion Pro Golfer, to speak about his line of Ultra Premium Vodka. He highlighted a few special moments in the history of his business and seemed excited to be bringing the production of the high end vodka to Indiana. He also introduced State Senator Ron Alting, a long time friend, who had worked with Fuzzy over the years to help bring opportunities to be involved around the state. After the introduction and chats, guests were treated to a free cocktail made with the vodka. I ordered a "Fuzzy's Mule" which adds lime and ginger beer to the spirit. Excellent! The fine folks at Cardinal Spirits also provided an assortment of delicious foods for us to snack on. There were meatballs, vegan sliders, Italian green salad, caprese skewers, and Deviled eggs with truffle oil. I need to make a point to bring friends here for dinner! I enjoyed the opportunity to attend the event and hope that the transition of production to Cardinal Spirits will go smoothly bringing the same high quality product but using Hoosier corn, and talent.
