After four years in college, I discovered this place a few weeks before graduation. 18 months later and was finally able to come back. We started with the ttuk kko chi which were rice cakes covered in a gochujang sauce. The cakes were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The sauce it was in was amazing, balancing the heat from the gochujang with some sweetness. Next, we got the Korean fried chicken (they were out of KFC wings). I remember the sauce being a little more red last time, but it was still good. Super crispy exterior and no excess batter so we just tasted the juicy chicken. The two entrees we got were the spicy chicken and jaeyuk. The spicy chicken was flavorful and tender. Along with the chicken, the veggies were stir fried nicely and coated in the broth. The jaeyuk was a little better with the pork having a great marinade and also being super tender. On top of the food we ordered, we were given a salad, soup, and rice which were all nice accompaniments. This was the meal I was looking forward to the most in my return and it did not disappoint. Do Asian Fusion is not a bad restaurant by any means, but it certainly isn't authentic. It's very westernized, and what I mean by that is the options for food you find here are often not found over in South Korea. For instance, this restaurant may add ingredients into some Korean food that would not be added in South Korea. The interior is quite cozy and gives off vibes of a Korean restaurant in Seoul off the street. Cool! I will say though, that while the service is friendly, I've had more than one occasion here where the service has been a bit on the slow side. I went to Do on Valentine's Day for the first time and was shocked that I had never been there before. The place itself was smaller and had neon lights, trendy Korean posters, and K-pop playing, all creating a very modern vibe that I loved. Their Korean fried chicken (KFC) was like nothing I've ever had before (and it's 20% off right now!). Chasing with a sip of Milkis after a massive bite of KFC was the best culinary experience I've had in Bloomington. The bulgogi was one of the better ones that I've had; it was a match made in heaven when combined with their kimchi. For V-day, they had a special for a free honey bread dessert that was very light and mildly sweet. Overall, this place blew my mind and I will be returning very often. After looking at the pictures on their picture menu I decided that I'd have the JapChe Rice with beef and stir-fry vegetables. My guest had the chicken fried rice. Once we'd given the waitress our order, the took the picture menu away. There's a reason for this. They don't want you to see that picture and do any kind of comparison. Because it's going to be very different from what you get in the dining room. The photo of the dish had a nice portion of beef next to the noodles and the rice. However, what was brought to me had about a tablespoon of beef in it. And the vegetables were buried under the noodles, probably 3 pieces of red pepper, a few pieces of scallion and a few mushrooms and exactly 4 pieces of carrot. That was it. Most of the dish was noodles and rice. The flavor was good and the waitress was nice and efficient, she did a great job. But when a guy wants a beef dish and pays over 12 bucks for it, he would really like to get what was in the picture: BEEF. read more

They also have a korean beer, Terra, which is amazing and green grape soju! So normally, I really enjoy this place. It's got a nice atmosphere, is open late, has a unique menu, and is one of the few places where you can get soju and umeshu. The -2 stars is because they don't let you eat outside during the pandemic, even though they have a few tables outside and the restaurant is narrow and crowded. They insisted on replacing the Nagasaki Ramen with fresh, but that was way to much to allow. The broth was incredible and you could tell the work and craftsmanship that went into it. We got the Nagasaki seafood ramen and the chicken udon noodles. It was quite good! Definitely recommend ordering sides of the spicy sauce as the broth was not spicy at all. If you like heat you definitely need the sauce to kick it up a notch. Wifey got the seafood ramen and she said it was above average to great. I tried this restaurant for the first time at dinner before Lotus Festival. The appetizers are great and the food looked good, but I didn't like my entree. For appetizers, we had koroke and vegetable tempura. Both were good. The nice server then brought us miso soup and corn salad. The latter was especially good. i ordered Nagasaki ramen and was not impressed. It was essentially a bowl of broth and noodles with precious little of anything that could be called seafood. The mussels were the tough and tasteless type that belong in cheap Chinese buffets floating in water. The squid (that's what i think it was) was like chewing rubber. The service was good. Out of all the Korean restaurants in town, I would say that Do is among the topic my "to go" places. There's always a lively atmosphere and the feel is cozy. Although, it's hard to get seating during dinner service because the space is small and it's usually packed. The great thing about this place is that it's open late too so coming here to eat and drink is always fun for socials. I am very picky about where I eat due to my dietary restrictions. My son who shares the same concern told me there were items in the menu that could be adjusted (no meat/ no dairy). We ordered the sautéed vegetables, rice, pot stickers (tofu), and potatoes cakes! If I'm saying the items correctly. The lady was VERY helpful and understanding about our concerns and made great suggestions. The pricing was more than fair and we had large servings. I was sad to learn business decreased due to Covid, so I'm making sure to tell everyone about this delicious place in Bloomington. Awesome because its open late, and service is always good, but the food quality has never been great. The Nagasaki Ramen here is the best in town, unfortunately, in Bloomington that doesn't really mean much. At that 15$+ it puts itself into the price range of legendary shops like Totto and Orenchi, but in the end it doesn't really match up to the 6$ ramen you get at the food court of a Mitsuwa. On the other hand, their Kimchi jigae is pretty good, as is their soondubu. They call themselves Asian Fusion, but Korean is definitely their forte. I was pretty dissapointed by their korean cold noodles though, the ingredients were stingy, and their sauce wasn't very spicy, but worst of all instead of the noodles you'd typically expect, they used the Chinese style ones you could get a bag of for 1.99$ at a Chinese supermarket. I seem to keep coming back and comparing Do to supermarkets, and sad to say it doesn't really do better. Now that I think about it, the food courts in front of H-Mart have better soondubu than Do does. The food is satisfying enough. But today, Do was obviously dealing from the bottom of the deck. The satisfying taste that lunch left on the tongue spoiled quickly at payment time. After we handed over our cards, each in our five-person party then received non-itemized bills. Pens were not brought along because our tips had been added for us and there was apparently no need for us to authorize that. An automatic gratuity charge is silly for a party of just five. Do could work on quality if they want their customers to tip up to their expectation. Alternatively, Do could increase the menu prices (a practice not unfamiliar to this establishment).
