I walked here from campus on a rainy day and it was totally worth it. When you walk up you realize how tiny the place actually is and its kind of endearing. The place is really cozy, I decided to eat outside on the patio as it sprinkled. They also sell some snacks and frozen goods you would find at an Asian grocer. Firstly, the prices here are amazing. I spent a little under $20 dollars and I got a large bowl of Jjam-Ppong Ramen and Bugolgi Kimbap. It also came with a side of Kimchi and Macaroni Salad. The food came out relatively quick despite there being maybe one staff member there at the time. The Jjam-Ppong Ramen was great! The noodles had the perfect amount of chew and there was a decent amount of seafood in the dish considering it was only about $9. It was also the perfect amount of spice, I think even those who don't like spicy food could manage with this one. The Kimbap was also really good and had refreshing flavor with the pickles and veggies. The cheese was a nice addition. Overall I totally recommend this place. The quality for the price is amazing here, and the atmosphere is cute as well. One of my favorites in Bloomington.

I have great memories here! :) I really love getting the bulgogi kimbap, but any kimbap is great here! The owner works so hard and she is so kind! They also have a section for Korean snacks and products which is new and nice! The place is a bit small but there are tables to come and have food here. I would recommend anyone to come here to get food to go or come and eat here with friends! I will definitely come back for more kimbap!

First time having Toto's. The food was so comforting after a long day. Good portions, shared a spicy chicken kimbap. Though there isn't a lot of room in the restaurant, it was very cozy, and the service was very good! There is even a small shop in the restaurant.

I ordered the tofu bibimbap for take out and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent presentation, quantity of food, and delicious flavors. They even added the extra sides like kimchi and macaroni salad that often are offered when you dine in. This place is small and usually has only one person putting together the dishes, so if they're extra busy, there might be a bit of a wait. However, it only took about 15 minutes from waiting to order to receiving the food despite it being a one-person show. And I saw that multiple orders were being filled at once. That to me speaks efficiency! Even better, they're being COVID- cautious with masks and reduced indoor seating down to sanitized pens. I'd recommend this place time and time again.

Chicken teriyaki bowl bap. SO GOOD! Big enough to share but you won't want to.

Finally got around to trying out Toto's Uncle and it was good! Decided to check them out while most of the students are out of town for Winter break, since the interior has limited seating. Called first to make sure they were open, many Bloomington restaurants close during the holiday break. Not as difficult to find as some reviews mentioned. The location reminded us of C-3 Bar, basically it's in the middle of a big apartment/condo complex. Plenty of parking just outside the door. I ordered the chicken teriyaki cup bap (rice bowl) and my partner ordered the seafood udon with bonito broth. We also talked to the counter-person about a couple of the rice cake dishes. She was very friendly and extremely helpful. Our food came out within ten-fifteen minutes and was piping hot. We were pleased that the portions were large enough to share. The bowls they use are nice, no styrofoam or plastic. Even the silverware seemed to be a better quality than most small restaurants. It was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the teriyaki. The flavor was good and the chicken was high quality, no mystery meat. It had mushrooms in it which was unexpected and added to the flavor of the dish. My partner enjoyed her Udon very much. It was full of shrimp and scallops and very tasty. We bought a bottle of water before we realized that they have free water over by the condiment area, just fyi. We were too full to order dessert, but would love to go back and get one of those waffles that look delicious. Super happy we finally tried Toto's Uncle. Looking forward to eating there again.

I good choice for good, cheap Korean food in Bloomington. Especially for students. Not a fancy restaurant, bus your own dishes. Family run for efficiency. Nonetheless, I had a good meal here. You might wait a little while since there is a small kitchen and few employees. Overall a good authentic meal and worth the short drive from downtown and campus.

A Bloomington hidden gem! Toto's is tucked into a residential neighborhood, off the beaten path of the college students that go to some restaurants in droves. (Sorry for bringing that upon this place, but my friends and I love it!) It's still accessible via bus for anyone on campus wanting to go there. This place seems like it wouldn't work...a somewhat weird mashup of Korean food with fruit- and chocolate-covered waffles, and some Japanese stuff like ramen. It's not everywhere that you can go get a seafood ramen and a giant Belgian waffle. Somehow, it works. This place used to have bubble tea and coffee and stuff like that as well, but they stopped doing that part. Still a cute place even without that. The other great thing about Toto's is that it is SUPER CHEAP. You can eat a meal here for $6. Where else does that happen in Bloomington? The "cup bap" are plenty for lunch or dinner and can be a whole meal for just $5.95. I love the Japanese curry cup bap (just wish it had some pork or something in it). My friends love Toto's bibimbap and soups, as well as the waffles. You can make the waffle your meal if you're not super hungry, and can be a dessert for your other food if you are super hungry. Toto's food isn't spectacular, but it's really good compared to a lot of other places in B-town, especially for the price. It's definitely going to be one of our regular stops next semester.

Go. Here. Now. Try it all! Be patient and explore all that your taste buds have been missing out on! And do NOT forget the dessert!

I wasn't expecting to find a restaurant in the middle of apartments, but it was a pleasant surprise. They have plenty of seafood and vegetarian options. Delicious!

Excellent Thai restaurant with high marks for food, service, and atmosphere…read more I've tried the Thai fish cakes, sweet and sour saute, pad bus sa ra com, mango sticky rice, and Thai iced tea and coffee. The savoury dishes were all super flavourful, cooked well, and generously portioned. Maybe this has something to do with the dishes I got, but I think the flavours here are generally more intense than the other Thai restaurants I've tried in Bloomington, and their spice levels might be a little higher. I've been somewhat underwhelmed by level 3 (out of 5) at other places, so I tried level 4 the first time I ordered here, and it was a little too hot, so I went back to level 3 the next time, and it was just right. The Thai tea and coffee were both very good, especially the coffee. It almost tasted chocolatey. The service is consistently on top of it. I was there on Valentine's Day, and they were slammed but had enough staff on the floor for it; the food was quick as usual and everyone was still very friendly. I also love the atmosphere here. The building is one of the converted houses on 4th St, and there are different dining rooms, some with lots of windows, all filled with interesting decor, and there's also a very nice patio during the warmer seasons. The only problem here is, unless there's a back entrance I don't know about, I don't think the building is wheelchair accessible; you have to go up a few stairs to get to the main entrance.

All were great, fresh ingredients, served in concert, and quickly, too. This was a family meal, and all were delighted, including the children with chicken fingers and fries. We're trying to expand their horizons, but picky eaters are tough. The appetizers were especially good, and each has their own different sauce. My order was well-spiced, and there was enough taken home for a second delicious meal. This is perhaps the best and most consistent Thai food in Bloomington. There are rivals to this high throne, and we try them, too, but this is our go-to for no-compromise Thai, every order consistently great.

RHS bills itself as 'Vietnamese Fusion' and I have no idea what that might mean, but it was good. Very good. We went on a cold day, so eating on the outside deck wasn't an option. The interior is a basic strip mall location with a decent number of tables and plenty of seating, albeit a bit cramped. It's counter service, so it pays to take a look at the menu in advance and know what you want before you arrive. Paid at the counter, and they came to our table with the food very quickly. I had the 'Be Kind to Each Other' Chicken Pho which came with the usual sides of sprouts, basil, lime and noodles. You could upgrade your noodles if you wanted. I also added an order of cajun fries, which doesn't really seem like a 'Vietnamese Fusion' choice, but I love cajun fries so who was I to question them? The Pho was terrific. Loved it. The fries were very very good, though maybe a bit generous on the cajun. Still very good, and I definitely will return for this meal again. Friend ordered the Spam Banh Mi. Seriously???? Well, he did. And he said it was very good. You actually pay $0.50 extra for spam. Again, not sure what world you pay extra for the Spam but he did it. He selected the Fire Engine Tim sauce, which was to be spicy. When I pressed him for more details on the quality he said it could be spicier even with that sauce, but otherwise it was very good. He said to point out on Yelp that "That Diet Coke was clutch" - he may have been making fun of my questioning :) All in all a very good experience and I'll definitely return. I don't find much good pho in Bloomington, so it's nice to have a place for that. I won't be eating Spam anytime soon. I'm giving 4 stars only because the seating was a bit cramped and it was busy inside. I would go 4.5 if it weren't in a strip mall and pretty 'basic' ambiance. And that canned Diet Coke is clutch!

There's a lot of choices on the menu and many entrees are customizable with your choice of protein and/or sauce. The place is very vegan/vegetarian-friendly; they have a handful of vegan protein options and most sauces are vegan, if you do try to order a non-vegan sauce with a vegan protein, they'll check to make sure that's okay, vegannaise is available for banh mi, and they will also remove the egg from the entrees containing egg AND take off the price of the egg. Their food may not be totally traditional but I really enjoy it. The level of "authenticity" will vary depending on what you order and which sauces you get in the customizable entrees. Their banh mi bread is different from the banh mi bread I'm used to but I actually like it a lot more. It's crustier and more tender than the usual banh mi bread, closer to a French-style baguette. They stack on lots of fresh veggies. The tofu is thinly-sliced and fried for tenderness that gives it a somewhat similar texture to deli meat. You can also get any banh mi combo as a wrap with the same ingredients, and while the wrap is good for a change of pace, I have to say I prefer the banh mi because the bread is so good. Their other entrees are also delicious and come in hefty portions. Their mapo tofu is the best vegetarian mapo tofu I've ever had. I usually get a Thai iced tea when I come here. It's strong and just the right amount of sweet. I appreciate the oat milk option! I recently tried the Thai iced coffee and that was also really good. Lastly, the staff who work here are very friendly! It seems like a small operation but they work efficiently so I've never had to wait too long for my order! The only thing that's left to be desired here is that everything is served in takeaway containers and they only have plastic cutlery (except spoons for some reason), but I don't know what they're dealing with in terms of capacity to use actual dining ware, so I am not letting that affect my rating.

It's also good if you're vegetarian because you can customize any dish to have tofu as the protein or no protein. My favorite dish so far was the roasted garlic cream tortelloni. On the other end of the spectrum, I didn't care for the chili garlic ramen. The sauce was too oily, plus the noodles were clumpy and the veggies were lazily cut. Maybe the kitchen was just lazy on that day, because every other dish I've ordered, the pasta has been fine and the general presentation has been better. There hasn't really been a pattern to the dishes I really enjoyed vs those I didn't (some of the other "Asian" stuff has been pretty good, like the Indonesian chicken saute, and some of the pasta dishes have been underwhelming).
