I decided to stop by Chatime for drinks after getting lunch. To say the least, I was not impressed with the service. Ordered QQ grapefruit juice and jasmine jade milk tea with pearls. The sugar and ice level requests are seen in the photos. Pro: Drinks were made quickly Con: - the staff that took my order was impatient. I made one order and she quickly asked, "is that it?". - the jade jasmine milk tea was was supposed to come with sago. She told me that it was discontinued. When I asled her what other toppings there are - she impatiently said, it's right there (sign on the plexi glass) or up there (pointing to the electronic menu) - jasmine jade milk tea: 30% sugar tasted like no sugar, might as well have ordered 0% sugar - pearls: really hard for both drinks - we politely asked for a bag when we got our drinks. Great location with lovely staff! Service is always very quick and staff are always very nice. Even with the Wonderland after-hours rush, staff were able to pump out orders very efficiently. We tried using SPC here by just showing the barcode, but there are specific rules that all Chatime locations are subject to when it comes to accepting SPC, and this was not allowed. 2019-02-18. Chatime is a franchise with several locations in Toronto and the GTA. I've been to both locations on Hwy 7 (Richmond Hill & the other Vaughan location in Famous Plaza, where the UFO looking movie theater is), so they're not new to me. We stopped in the plaza for coffee at Starbucks. The kids spotted this Chatime location across the plaza, so psychologically they suddenly had a craving for bubble tea (the power of conscious advertising). Normally we visit the Famous Plaza location at Weston Rd and Hwy 7, but what can I say, "No you can't have a bubble tea while I get myself a coffee"? So after I get my cup of Joe, across the plaza we went. The plaza I speak of is around the perimeter of Vaughan Mills shopping center. Being in s plaza there plenty of free parking. The place is small and modern inside. Wooden tables and plastic chairs. The walls are painted and there are flat panel TV's throughout. The place is long and narrow, a counter with a small refrigerated section houses macarons and slices of cake. The kids ordered their usual, a lychee tea with lychee jelly. While Chatime is not my Bubble Tea place of choice, it'll do in a pinch. As crazy as it sounds, my kids too can taste the difference with their drinks; but they also know when not to complain, something is better than nothing... Funny thing though, either the drink was not made consistently from location to location, or I just remember it as tasting better. This time around the drink was less flavourful, and I can't recommend a passing grade for this particular drink. 2,4 stars. I need to apologize for the lack of photos I'll be posting. I came back with my mom on a weekday when it was quieter. I got the matcha red bean slush with tapioca/pearls. I love the matcha green tea flavour in just about anything, so when I saw that it was one of their top 10 drinks...bingo! The service was good and I received the drink quickly. I really liked the drink and will be coming back soon given this hot weather! By the way, you have the option of choosing your sweetness level which I've never seen before in other bubble tea shops. 3.5 stars... a step up above an average BBT place I can get the hate/love for Chatime ... I've only been to most Chatimes during the slow times and I've never had too much issue with service. This spot has better parking than others but I can see this spot being overwhelmed easily. Consistency is what brings me to Chatime over others. Their drinks are not the best but I know I will get a good Black Pearl milk tea each and every time. The stores itself are hit and miss... this one is medium sized with about 10 tables available. The cleanliness is not the best but it's certainly not the worst like the one at UofT where it's just like student housing. The menu provides a lot of options... I do appreciate how they show you their top 10 so if you're ever stuck, you can't go too wrong with any of those choices. So you like slushies... lots of options. Milk teas... have them all and they're actually tea based. Juices... they're good but they're really not juice. And they have many others. Service today was quick as there was only 1 person before me. To get the drink wasn't so bad... only maybe 5 minutes which is reasonable. Black Pearl Milk Tea - Good tea flavour and the usual that Chatime is known for. I like how this place uses real tea. At half sweet, this was enough to give you that nostalgic Bubble Tea memory without the sugar crash. The pearls was soft but not overcooked. We came here on our last day in Toronto. We ordered drinks which were not unlike the ones my wife and I had before in Woodbury. The only downside is that they didn't honor our Chatime punch card. the bubble tea is average and the roasted milk tea at this company will always be my favourite versus all other franchises. However, this particular location, staff was quite rude. We ordered 3 drinks and then realized to make one drink to be less sugar less ice, the staff said the drink is already made. Um... but lady, we didnt even finish ordering. Wtf? We continued and ordered 4 drinks and got them free using our vicinity points.We paid the 1.05$ for the two upsize drinks (55 cent to upsize large) and asked her to remake that drink less ice less sugar because that's not what we wanted. She rolled her eyes, made a deal of throwing the made drink in the garbage and huffed and puffed at us until it was remade. First of all, you are stupid to have made the drinks before we even finished ordering (who does that?). Should have said oh never mind we dont want any of the drinks and walked out. Updated Sept 1st, 2018. This Chatime location needs to get ON TOP of what the rest of the franchise is offering. I originally purchased the special glass bottles at the Colossus location and was told that if I bring the bottles I will receive $1.00 off any drink on the menu. Now, the reason I purchased the bottles in the first place is because I waste a lot of plastic cups/straws on a weekly basis. This was my conscious way of trying to make a difference. After waiting 10 minutes in line at this location, we were told that they can only offer the Shimmer drink series and the Roasted Milk Tea as part of the special. The ENTIRE purpose of introducing the glass bottles was to become environmentally conscious and reduce waste, while also providing loyal customers with a discount. I am extremely disappointed in this location and I will never be returning. The Colossus location has only been open for several weeks and their service is about 10000000 times better. It was a rocky start when this Chatime first opened, but now that they have everything down to the T, it's my preferred location. There's usually some empty seats and the wait time is never long. Staff are also super nice and friendly. Sometimes I'll come here to study on a weeknight - thank goodness for free wifi! This Chatime may be one of the Chatime stores that doesn't have a long line up. It's near my house so I always come here for bubble tea. The menu is the same with other Chatime but the taste isn't consistent. Sometimes it's too sweet, sometimes just way too bland. Some with too much ice, some just wishy washy...(even tho I always order mine with regular ice). The staffs in the morning are nice and friendly and quick. But those work during night shifts are just inattentive and they always talk too each other. Plus, they have the music on extremely loud. Even tho the line isn't long, you may experience some impolite people who love to cut line and don't care much about your feeling. You may also have to experience some eye-staring from other customers if you're asian and you walk in with a white friend/boyfriend/group of friends. Just ignore it and enjoy the drink. The decoration is the same with other chatime: purple wall, and purple straws (which I love). I love to come to this place in the morning since the staffs are friendlier and it's not very busy. I can have my drink in less than 5 minutes, and the staffs know what I want and how I like my drink. You should try their Taiwan Plum Lemon Iced Tea (it's pretty good, take my word for it!). But just don't try their new Thai Iced Milk Tea. It tastes like Vitamin C supplement drink (eww!) But since it's near my house, and good thing is they open late and during holiday, so I always stop by to satisfy my bubble tea craving lol Not the best place for bubble tea, but definitely the best around Vaughan Mill mall. read more

I come here very often, probably once a week. Depending on who's working, the service can pretty good or needs improvement. I always order grass jelly milk tea with less ice and sugar and 40% of the time the cashier would punch in roasted milk tea while the other 60% of the time, the cashier would clarify if I wanted regular milk tea or roasted milk tea. While I don't mind the taste of roasted milk tea, I would much prefer the regular milk tea instead. Lineups vary depending on the time. It tends to get busy later in the day but once your order is placed, the drinks are made pretty quick. read more

It sucks that I have to bite the bullet and take back my previous review. The worst chatime location! Poor customer service. Brought the promo for 2 mugs with 2 vouchers for $20. It was for a Christmas gift, but before I was able to even gift it I realized they had the mug already. I went to another chatime location and they were happy to process the refund for me but because I did not purchase it at their location I was not able to. I came back here today and the employees were super confused and said they had to ask their manager. The employe comes back and say because the promo is over, they can't do the refund. (The promo is not over).. After 3 phone calls, they kept says bf no and I asked to speak to the manager myself. The employee said I will have to come back on Tuesday. (I don't live in the area. I already had to come back here to do the refund) I finally got to speak to the manger on the phone, she was super unprofessional. Not once did she apologize, she was extremely rude and said she can't do a refund until speaking to head office. Which is odd because colossus was able to do it without speaking to head office. She gave me some bullshit excuse that they have never had to do refunds before. But you would think that a store that sells merchandise, would have some type of return policy?? She tells me that I can't hear back till after new year before the head office is closed. I guess no one works at HQ? It amazes me how 1 simple issue can be so difficult for them to solve. They rather upset a customer to save $40. I never had issues at this location before, but after personally dealing with the person who manage this location, I will not be returning. I am an avid Chatime fan and have been to several locations across Ontario, but I have to say this has consistently been the worst one. I've been here around 4-5 times scattered over a 3 year period, each one resulting in a stomach ache, a drink that's too watery or too milky(fail to taste the jasmine aspect of the "jasmine green milk tea" or some other flavoured tea), hard tapioca, or some other mishap. I find that the drink quality is inconsistent with that of all other chatime locations I've been to, and this has been the case for a few years now! Nice treat after shopping at Vaughan Mills. Service was fast and efficient. Exact same menu as any other Chatime locations. I tried the drink of the month (for September its Wintermelon mousse). I like the mousse they offered at Chatime, creamy and delish. Previously I tried Matcha mousse and liked it; it has the bitterness of green tea but in a good way. I had to wait around 5 mins which is not bad at all when the average wait time in Ottawa is 15 mins on a good day. The tea at Chatime is great as always. Okay, this place is in a strip mall right across from vaughn mills..their selection of drinks is pretty substantial compared to some of its competitors and dare I say there are at least two other stores in the same Plaza offering bubble tea as well. I got Red bean tea with reduced sugar and ice and I enjoyed it very much. It did wait for about 15 minutes to get to the register to place my order and then another 5 to receive my tea. I took one Star away because I think it's rather too busy and the lineup was quite long and this particular location doesn't have a lot of room to stand comfortably either unless you're fine with lining up next to the bathroom, in a corner, almost smooshed against the wall. This place is great. Open late! No matter how busy, the service is always fast and always right. Surprisingly have not messed up our orders even with all the personalizing that we do. The drinks are fresh and well priced! Large selection in flavours. Everyone speaks good English and is good at what they do. Recently became a regular and will be back for more very soon.
