Spectrum is the most unreliable company you can ever do business with! I am sure that Charter is playing a games, but why. We have had spotty internet for the last 3 months. 8 techs & 2 supervisors have come out with very little IT understanding or education. They can't get the internet that has been work for 13 years of reliable service to work. I understand they are merging with Comcast and changing there infrastructure but why do I have to pay for what i don't have. The problem is that if the internet is suppose to be 60MPs, but what good is that is it can't stay up fro more than 15 minutes. Charter has terrible tech service. read more

Not sure where to start I've called them about 5 times in the last 3 weeks every time I have a representative every single one gives me a different story different ticket numbers different reasons no supervisors available and pretty much fed up Initially came out and it service left the cable line that ran right over my grass now a my grass has grown over and I need a have it corrected given me dates and nobody's called me nobody's follow through and nobody's showing up I am so called in escalated job. If they were to do their job correctly as instructed where the 6" to 12" depth for the cable to be ran this would not be an issue. They expect for you sit around for 8 to 12 hours on a day the so call give you to not show up. Once you call nobody has a clue or yet they oh the ticket was just created give them 7 days someone will be out. Was told I would get a call back as of yet still haven't heard anything lets see how long it takes them....... read more

I've had zero problems with charter, the service is fast and the associates in store, over the phone and online have been nothing but helpful and informative. Spectrum's business practices are disappointing. I am an educator, who got Charter for the reason that all classes were moving online due to COVID19--2 days before they offered the promotion of 2mo free service for new customers. They will not honor the promotion (because I am no longer a new customer, I had service for 2 days)--WHICH I UNDERSTOOD somewhat because of the system you'd have to input the information of start date too, etc.--- but also wouldn't offer a credit, until I said, you provide old customers with good will credits even, but a new one, you'd rather start them upset?? when I have no contract? and could just cancel once the school year would end?--The very reason they offered the 2 mo free for new customers in academia this promotion was for a financial break for 2 months ($120) due to the unforeseen circumstances of having to go online--I was still that customer; it was the reason that I had signed up--I did not have Charter before. I understand if I had service for a month or 2 before and saw this and said, oh hey--give me 2 months free or credit. I signed up days (not weeks/months) earlier because we were told by administration we would be moving online. It was to prepare for the shift. They said they could give $10 credit at the most. In signing up before, I had the installation fee ($50) and to get the lower rate, agree to get a VOIP number too. So that is $200 dollars starting that I am paying for the 2 months, getting the service a couple of days earlier to prepare, and they want to offer $10. How does that help the financial stress? It makes no sense. It's disheartening that the intent and situation is bound to the literal definition of "new" and the purpose. It would also be different, if I was an accountant and was told I'd have to work at home and I got service 2 days before. It wouldn't be aligned with their program and what they were trying to do. I'm SO DISAPPOINTED in this, especially at this time, in the midst of all this. I still think it's a good deed they are doing for students and educators, but now it is marred by this, and I will never see them the same. I will be cancelling when this is over. If we have to stay online, I will choose anyone over them. If I can give them a negative I would. This company is absolutely horrible. When I started with them their internet was $24.99 and I am paying $39.99 until the end of this month. Every year they want to increase your rate but yet the internet service has more interruptions then before. I work from home a lot and it is so frustrating. They just told me they are increasing my bill for internet only to $64.99 a month. That is insane...technology is getting cheaper and cheaper everyday and this is going backwards. In some countries internet is already free for all...Their customer service is so rude when I called to asked them why. Well, they say you really don't understand how bad a company is till you run into problems. That day would be today. I decided to upgrade my service because it was very slow for the amount of bandwidth I was using. In order to do that I had to return my old modem. To get the new one. Understood....so let me paraphrase in saying today was not the day for me to be without service. But upon coming and replacing my perfectly good modem to get my faster speeds my speed went from a whopping 60mbs to .53 mbs. Not even one mb. It was frusterating and being that I just dropped the modem off 20minutee ago I thought I would be able to get it back and back to my speeds. Unfortunately that was not the case. Wither it be policy or what they said even though I'm rendered with no internet service stuck waiting for an tech to come out to fix the issue. My guess being I am a Tech is most likely faulty equipment. Look Christopher was friendly and did what he could but honestly I felt he gave me biolerplate repsonse to a rather tough situation. There were no calls made to see if my old modem could be returned. Nothing...just sorry nothing we can do. I felt sort of left out in the cold but with a smile. Additionally he tried to tell me it's the equipment and yes I understood that so that's why I wanted my old modem back. He said once they scrubbed that's it. I'm like does he know who he is talking to. Either way I see now why people are frusterating with Charter Spectrum. When things go wrong they really are not good about making you feel like they care. This frusterating me for the day and since I cannot deliver today on any projects because I am without internet and all my projects reside on a rather large cumbersome super computer that I can't just tote over to Starbucks I could easily loose this deal and whole lotta money in the process. I added nhl center ice for the promotional price of 49.98. Nice! Paid in full in 1 month. I added internet and phone bundle. Was told my monthly bill would be $151 for everything and gold package. Received my bill, $257...... What? They double billed me the nhl package, charged me for turning on the nhl package, charged me installation of internet and phone which they said they would waive. They told me 3 times they corrected the problem. NOT! I battled with them for over 2 months. No more. Cancelled them today and got the same package with direct tv for $100.81 Good bye spectrum, you lost a good customer. Funny thing is when I cancelled they said I will still owe them 104 dollars. I'm digging charter so far. The Netflix streaming quality on the iPad is quick and sharp. The one thing I had a problem with was when they would call about signing up for their cable. The future is in mobile streaming. Eventually people will realize they are constantly being manipulated through main stream media this includes faux news and msnbc. I love Rachel but only her. I do wish they would cover the entire perspective on topics. Till then, the internet has that advantage. Thus, I must respect the power of google search. I have only have been dealing with charter for the last couple of months. Had to get a new router but it works really well. The modem needs a reset every other month. Everyone I spoke to online was being very helpful trying to help me solve my internet issues. They wrote a note in my account to go into the office and change out the router for a different model. Explaining that the one I had was an older version. I went in pretty happy with how the company was handling the issue until the guy that was at the office (Edgar) was so rude it completely changed my view on the company. He looked miserable being there and the way he speaks to customers is unacceptable if you are working customer service. Comes out with the same model I just returned. O explained the rep added notes that I was to get the new model, he straight out says well this is what I have. Do you want it or not? Had time warner which is now spectrum. Our bill went up $10 a month. I called to cancel our service after seeing an offer for $50 a month with Verizon Fios. After talking to the customer service rep for ten minutes that we really only wanted to keep basic Internet and not add any sports or cable, she agreed we could keep out rate of $59 per month instead of $69. I clarified with her several times that we only wanted the services we had before (basic Internet- no more, no less). She assured me that the bill would be updated and we'd be back to $59 per month for all the SAME Internet we'd been getting. Two hours later I hear from my boyfriend that our internet is out. I call customer service at spectrum. When I finally get through, I let the tech rep know I'd called earlier and about the change in the bill. He assured me there was no change to our services, reset everything remotely and assured me it should be working when I got home. Hours later we still had no internet and I called again- only to be told our WIFI HAD BEEN CANCELED when our bill was put back to the original amount. I was then told I was being transferred to a sales rep, only to have the call disconnected after an automated message that the office was closed. Because of this outage we were unable to register for classes that filled up during the outage. I am very disappointed that I was reportedly assured there would be no change to service, only to find out it was essentially dropped. AND all of this when I called to cancel and replace the overpriced service to begin with. read more

I've had Charter's services for about 10 years now. Bradley Walker was my area rep and he is fantastic! Great customer service and a really funny guy! I work in apartments and I have dealt with a lot of different service providers over the years! I can tell you that from what I have seen Charter gives a great product and service for a great price! In 10 years I have only ever had minor outages and when I had an issue with my older modem and an older dvr they swapped them out for me with no hassle. read more

A total waste of time calling this company just to inquire if the city we're moving is covered by their company. My issue was I don't want to give their my phone number bcoz I know they will start calling me once I gave them my contact number. Their reason was so if the call got disconnected they will call back. It doesn't even take 5 mins to find out what I was asking. Also when I called this company 5 months ago about international channel price and how many channels they have, wanted to visit our house. What the heck! Hey everyone! just want to let everyone know that Charter Communications is a HORRIBLE JOKE! i canceled my services with charter in May 2009 and i had a balance of -80.00 that they OWED me since i overpaid them for the last month i was in Rancho Cucamonga. They told me that i will have a refund check in 2-3 weeks.... guess what guys... its January 15 2010 and i still haven't revived my refund check! its not like they don't know that they owe me money trust me.. I've been calling the charter corporate office 1-3 times a month to get my account settled... 0oh and by the way they did send me something last week, they send me a F'n COLLECTION NOTICE saying that i OWE THEM 50 dollars! i called them and they told me that it was a mistake. messing up my credit is not just a slap on the wrist. every time i wanted to talk to a manager he seems to be "busy" must be busy trying to slither out another mistake that they did! I would like to give zero stars - or even give a negative rating, but those are not an option. Charter has without a doubt the worse customer service I've experienced. They are a nightmare. I'm currently using them for high speed Internet, because I know of no other option for high-speed out here. No ATT UVerse. No Verizon high-speed. The apartment complex has "deal" with Charter that uses a specific customer service rep. The "deal" is higher priced than what Charter offers on the Internet. This rep got my initial order wrong, and getting this corrected has been impossible. Charter is now insisting that I'm "upgrading my service to a higher speed" and therefore I'm not eligible for their advertised high speed rates. It's not an upgrade when the order wasn't recorded correctly by their customer service department. The tech who came out and did my installation demanded $40 in cash or he would not install my service. Apparently this is standard operating procedure for Charter, but I wasn't told in advance. The tech gets $30 in cash for each service he installs - so if you get 2 services (cable and internet), he gets $60 + whatever installation fee Charter tacks onto it all. It became immediately obvious that the tech had my order incorrect. Instead of trying to resolved the situation and provide what I requested, he argued with me about what I ordered. He said he could only install "what the customer asked for." Hello!!!??? I'm the f-ing customer idiot! Also, he refused to call his office to correct the order. I had to make the call. He did not properly clean up when he was done with his work. During the installation of my high speed Internet, he did not know how to respond to windows from Webroot Internet Security Suite stating that there had been a change in the IP address. He'd never seen Webroot - a very popular PC security program. Moron! After he left, I contacted the rep who got my order wrong - never got a call back. I also called Charter's customer service. They promised to refund me their cut on the $40 installation fee ($10) ... but, they didn't do it. I just got off the phone with them and I was told by the customer service supervisor that more than likely the refund was not approved. I said, so just to be clear, it is common practice at Charter for a customer service person to promise a courtesy credit and for the company to not deliver that credit. The supervisor said "yes." I sh-t you not. Also - the reason I called customer service, someone "corrected" my Internet order dialed my speed back down to the original incorrect order. So just to be clear - despite having a pile of notes on file where it is very clear that they screwed up my order, and the hell they put me through to get it correct, someone ignored all of that data and changed me back to the wrong speed. Charter is like the gang that can't shoot straight. I've never seen a company that is this incompetent. And their cable channel selection sucks! They don't even offer the NFL Network. read more

They truly are a nightmare and i am certain all of us will receive some sort of notice informing us of a class action law suit. Don't waste your time dealing with these crooks unless you want to be on the phone EVERY month disputing unreasonable charges. Since then, I've had more problems than I can count. Worse than the technical issues is the service. Today's issue is with the cable. It's been out all day. No one at Charter can give me an estimate as to when it will be back up. They actually had the nerve to tell me that it could be up to 24 hours and that this is a normal time period for an outage for an utility. Normal time period my a$$!!!! Disgrace of a company and customer service. I attempted to deal with them again, and the operator was just so difficult. I kept telling her that I wanted her to tell me what the basic internet package was. In order for her to give me such "secretive" information, she had to go through a LIST of sale pitch questions. No matter how many times I told her I am not interested in nothing else. She would tell me she "cant" give me the pricing until she goes through her whole questionnaire. She would just go back to asking sales pitch questions, and Id keep asking for price. Several times I asked to talk to suprervisor and she just kept telling me there is nobody to talk to, but her. After the 4th or 5th time, she went to get a supervisor. When she got back on the line, then she was able to skip her sales pitch, and tell me the price. Waste of 30 mins. read more

So I've had Charter Communications internet and cable in my home just about 2 months ago my cable started flickering and had not been rebooted so I decided to call and explain to me as many times as I called he was going to take off the monthly bill regarding the cable today I received the bill with no deduction on my amount as I call the rep explains to me that there was no call log or no information from the rep that I spoke to you last night as well as they were only going to refund me $25 of the now 116 $combine 2 months that have not been used regarding my cable service due to system failure. To put in mind that they actually had you on hold for about 50 minutes as you're being told that you will be helped in a moment I have to say out of me being 33 years old I've never gotten Cable in my own home and it literally is a slave Junction with customer service with this company what they do is they take your money and give unreliable expensive horrible customer service. Worst customer service of any business I've ever felt with! You call them... They just transfer you multiple times hoping you'll just hang. You ask for a supervisor, they say one will call you back. Someone calls back, (Supervisor?). They won't say! I'm sorry your device was interrupted at no fault of yours, we will fix the problem and restore service within 15 minutes. Anything else we can help you with? You wait and you wait, No service! The next day you call and again go through 6 people, ask for a supervisor.... Again same thing... And again the next day... After 5 days of this... They say... There must be something wrong with your phone. You can call local but no long distance, they say we'll send someone out to your home, it can take up to 5 days. If we find its your phone system, there will be a charge. You tell them, it's not your phone system... It's something they did internally. Just remove the hold on long distance. They say.... I'll need to transfer you to someone who can help you... A revolving door of internal BS! read more

I moved and as such needed to turn my modem, box and remote in. I was instructed by calling the 800 number to take it to this store and they will receive my equipment and I could also make my final payment. Before I could even set the equipment on the counter the lady asks me "What's this"..." Ummmmmmmmm it's my shoes lady".."what do you think it is"? Ok, I didn't say that, but she was kind of snarky about it. Granted this equipment is about 11 months old. I told her I called and Spectrum gave me this address so I could hand this in and pay my final bill. Her response was, "We don't do that here". "Ok, you don't take equipment nor payments, so what is it you actually do here", I asked. "We do customer service", she says. She said if I want to turn in equipment then I need to go to another store. After politely arguing with her she agreed to take the equipment with a "handwritten" receipt and told me it might take a while for this to show up in the system. She would not take a payment so again I don't know the purpose of this building. After inquiring at another store, I was told the people at this store JUST DON'T LIKE TO ENTER IT AS IT HAS TO BE DONE MANUALLY. Awesome service Spectrum. Add htis to my review posted 6/20/14 Considering Charter was screwed up before going all digital this week, they have surpassed that level of irritation with the recent changes made to their channel line up. Channel have been moved from their prior locations or disappeared entirely and I have many channels of "SLATE". What the hell "Slate" is I have no idea; it just seems to be a message screen telling me to look elsewhere. Charter likes to pat itself on the back regarding how many cannels it has, if they would eliminate the duplication of channels and the ones NOBODY watches the number would shrink considerably.
