Caesar Salad was just ok and the Meatballs were yummy
    Evelyn M.

This place has always been a 10 out of 10 for me! I found out that they will be re-branding soon and it will be known as a high end steak restaurant known as Mastros Steakhouse so I visited with my daughter we sat at the bar and ordered a couple of appetizers started with the best Kimchi Calamari in town. We also tried the meatballs and it was delicious we were not too crazy about the ceasar salad the dressing was missing something but the bowl was made of cheese which was a nice surprise being a cheese lover and all lol the crab cake was good but way too pricey for just one crab cake. Ambiance and service is always on point. Looking forward to visit the new restaurant with the new menu

5/5 Chart House - Weehawken, NJ One of the most beautiful dining experiences I've had in NJ -- the view of the Manhattan skyline is absolutely breathtaking, especially at night. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, perfect for a romantic dinner or celebration. We started with the crispy calamari, which was golden and perfectly fried -- crunchy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor. For entrees, we had the Miso Glazed Salmon and Filet Mignon with Crab Fried Rice. Both were cooked perfectly -- the salmon had that beautiful glaze with just the right sweetness, and the filet was tender and flavorful. On another visit, I tried the Twin Lobster Tails with Garlic Mashed Potatoes -- rich, buttery, and cooked perfectly. The lobster was tender and paired so well with the sides. For drinks, I had the Berry Mojito and a Tropical Pineapple Cocktail, both refreshing and balanced. The cocktails here are well-made and match the upscale vibe. Dessert was a standout -- the Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream was heavenly. Warm, rich, and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Service was great, very attentive without being overbearing. Everything arrived fresh and timed perfectly. Tip: Try to book your reservation right before sunset -- you'll get the best of both worlds, the daylight view and the night skyline glow Overall, Chart House is a must-visit for anyone who wants fine dining with an unforgettable view. Everything from the food to the atmosphere is top-tier.

Went to the Chart House for a wedding and it was a pleasant experience. The unobstructed views of midtown Manhattan are beautiful and added to the enjoyment of the celebration. The service throughout the wedding was impeccable. At every turn, we were treated like royalty and it was very much appreciated. Each course was well presented and my portion of the salmon was large and flavorful. I also enjoyed their outdoor patio, as well. In between wedding halls, this patio allows attendees to enjoy the beautiful views, take memorable photos, and/or enjoy a drink on high stool tables. Whether to enjoy a meal or a special celebration, the Chart House is a recommended event space .

Came here a few years ago and couldn't even finish the food. Was super disappointed. Then a friend convinced me to give it a second chance, a couple months ago. Glad she did. We went for Happy Hour (great deals!) and all the food was delicious. Cocktails were good too and service was alright. They get pretty busy around 5pm but it's understandable. Have already been back since then. It's become a neighborhood favorite for me. Glad they fixed whatever was wrong back then. Bravo. Ps. The Kim Chee Calamari are so good!

We had the best experience there tonight! Brandon was an excellent waiter, personable and efficient. I am SO glad we went and the NYC views were spectacular. The calamari had a light, excellent sauce and I think I ate 80% of it. My husband said the chef's selection of black cod was wonderful. If I'm honest, the grilled salmon and risotto were just ok. But the molten lava cake was amazing. So get out of the city and head to New Jersey!

Let me start by saying the views are absolutely incredible! Big windows as well as an outdoor patio to really enjoy the view of the NY skyline. The restaurant is huge so it was sometimes difficult to get a hold of our server, but we were able to get others. Our host was great and made great recommendations! The food was good, nothing over the top. The steak was cooked well but needed the mushroom truffle butter for me to enjoy it. If the priority is a view, this is a great place to dine.

Absolutely amazing and beautiful place to enjoy a family/friend celebration and even a simple meal!! The view of NYC, especially, at night is one in a million! There is also like a little outside deck lounge for pictures and a little hangout area. We had a celebration with family and friends and everyone said they enjoyed it! The staff were all very welcoming, polite and always on the go! The definitely helped make the experience a lot more smoother and pleasant! The food was great and especially the lobster tail and lobster soup! Their filet mignon was good but there were a lot of people saying it was more on the dry side. Maybe if you bring it to the waiter attention they can adjust to your liking. It gets pretty packed so it's best to always reserve! Parking is available. But not too sure if there is a valet section where there is a fee so I would call and double check on that, if that's important to you and your guests! Overall, it was a beautiful experience and would definitely do it again! Highly recommended!

Delicious, delightful dinner with a great window view of the NY skyline. We were lucky enough to snag a table without a reservation on Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Our server was so polite and just the right amount of attentive. The cocktails were great and the food was tasty. The hummus appetizer is. Healthy serving and comes with 3 different types of hummus. Filet mignon was cooked correctly and comes with creamy mashed potatoes. The halibut dinner was very good but the sauce was spicy ! The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the pita for the hummus appetizer was a little stale and the coconut rice with my halibut dinner missed the mark and was sitting in a very spice sauce. Otherwise we had a wonderful dinner and can't wait to go back soon!

The food was delicious and tasteful. The service was great and the server was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was stunning. Being able to see nyc both sunset and night time was breathtaking.

Looking to have a beautiful lunch or dinner with epic views of New York City skyline?! This resturant has it all! Serving amazing dishes and delicious cocktails. One of my favorite spots to go for a good meal and great service. The servers definitely love their job and cater to all guests with smiles. Even the restrooms are beautiful with modern art and marbled walls/flooring. Eat: Salmon, Steak, Salad , Mixed Veggies, and more. Drink: Assortment frozen or on the rocks cocktails & mocktails ( non alcohol ) $$$. Reservations suggested. Dress smart casual elegant. Parking lot available / valet.

I went to Charthouse to celebrate my birthday. Although I went primarily for the views and atmosphere, the food was surprisingly good (I had low expectations after seeing these reviews...) FOOD -- 4.3/5 MUST ORDER: the kimchi calamari! The portion is a huge shareable platter and the sauce they batter this in is unique and works great with the calamari. We also ordered the coconut shrimp and the middle (coconut milk sauce?) is so good, we asked for another cup of it! BE AWARE the prime rib is kind of fatty... I ate a whole chunk of fat in one bite and had to spit it out. I got the NY strip and the steak was seasoned well (I prefer saltier foods). 3 potato mash was also really good. I heard their drinks are also sweeter so I got the strawberry lemon drop with a double shot and it was definitely pretty strong. EXPERIENCE -- 5/5 If you're looking to book a window table, the hostess let me know over the phone that they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You might have to wait anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour but there is a bar area where most patrons wait at. Our server was super sweet and attentive. If you tell them you're there for a birthday celebration, they print out a little slogan on your menu ahead of time!

We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday at Chart House, and it was an experience to remember. The ambiance was elegant and relaxing, with beautiful indoor and outdoor seating area right by the water. The view of the Manhattan skyline added a magical touch to the evening--absolutely breathtaking. The fine dining experience lived up to expectations for the most part. I ordered a steak that had an unusual color--I was expecting a nice sear or crust--but despite its appearance, it was cooked well, the paired sauces added a nice flavor. I only had a glass of wine, but judging by the bar setup and the menu, I imagine the cocktails are excellent too. The layout of the restaurant is spacious; tables aren't crowded together, which made the atmosphere feel comfortable and private. Parking was easy with an option for valet, a rare perk in the area. The staff was friendly and attentive, and it was clear they worked well as a team--their communication and coordination stood out. All in all, Chart House offers a lovely setting for special night out, especially if you're looking to enjoy great food with an even better view.

This restaurant is really about the trillion dollar view of the Manhattan skyline from the Weehawken NJ side. Food is good, service is cordial and they try their best to make everyone feel special. Little bumps in service attributed to the fact that there are a lot of special events held here, mostly birthdays. Everything went well except that the appetizers weren't cleared before the entrees arrived and we stacked up all the used plates ourselves and put them on one side of the table. All good, it was a large table with a perfect view and all can be forgiven under those circumstances. We weren't rushed, our drinks were refilled and the server took our group photos with the spectacular NYC skyline. We had the kimchi calamari, meatball and coconut shrimp appetizers. All fresh, all good. 2 orders of the Chilean seabass - risotto, 1 large prime rib that was gray, and the Australian lobster tail. 2 cappuccinos, 2 double espresso. No wine tonight, as we didn't have a designated driver back to NY. About $500 for 4 people, not terrible considering the absolutely gorgeous view. All about the view.

    I don't see a lunch menu?

It was nearly a month ago that I dined there. I definitely don't recall any lunch specials even though a friend and I sat down a few minutes after 2. The best part of our dining experience was definitely not the food; it was sitting by the window in…

Do you do Sunday buffet brunches?

Hello, there is no buffets offered on Sunday.

Did anyone host a wedding in this place? I have almost 200 guesses for my kids wedding and I was considered to call them.

I believe they were hosting a wedding on their second floor the evening we visited.

Do they do anything special for birthdays?

Yes they do a lot. They give you a special take home menu with name in it they also write the name in chocolate in the plate.…

Hello! My family and I are planning on coming here for my mother's 60th birthday. I know your dress code is business casual, I just wanted to know; she has a beautiful pink pantsuit with a tulle skirt attachment, would this be appropriate attire?

Absolutely appropriate. I've been to chart house for celebrations and just to hang. I've gone in jeans (dressed up of course and not ripped) and never had a problem. Think semi formal, business casual for guests.

Hi, I saw that you have 3 party room. Can you tell me the approx. number of people they accommodate for a luncheon (no dancing)? Thank you!

Hi Lisa, thank you for your interest in our private space. We can accommodate from 30 – 300 guests. Please reach out to our private events department at (201) 348-6401 for more information.

How strict is the dress code ? I'm from Miami where as long as you have money you dress how you want

Hello, our dress code is business casual. Thank you.

Do they have private rooms for small dinner parties maybe 20-25 people?

    Yes! Yes they do

We are visiting in town do we need to be vaccinated to dine here?

    Nope 😉

Do you need to be COVID vaccinated to eat in chart house at weehawken?

No, they didn't ask for any vaccine but I would call to double ck

Do they give anything for birthday/anniversary? free or charged?

Not free but they put a birthday/anniversary congrats on it.

Are nice cargo/golf type shorts allowed?

Allowed - yes. Preferred - no.

Is this place suitable for a 1 year old and 2 year old to come?

Absolutely Chart House is suitable for 1 and 2 year olds, we are very child and baby friendly with our ambiance

    Is there any vegetarian options?

Definitely more vegetarian flexibility with the pasta dishes than vegan, hard to be a vegan here

I'm not seeing a filet mignon & lobster tail combination on the menu, is that still available?

To be honest I have no idea- but go there the food is really delicious. I was kindly surprised.

No one is answering the phone for reservations and online there is nothing open until the end of this month. Is it possible to see if I could get a reservation for this Saturday Jan. 23rd?

    I'm pretty sure you will.

For Christmas Eve dinner is this place closing at 10:00 pm as usual?

Chart House Weehawken will be seating until 9pm on Christmas Eve, please give us a call for your reservation at (201) 348-6628. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Is the valet parking required or optional?

No it's not required. It's optional.

Does the Weehawken location offer the table side drinks?

You can get a table for cocktails only if you like.

Is brunch menu still going on for weekends?Or is it just dinner menu?

    Brunch is still on

Throughout the cooking, we also interacted with the chefs, asking them about the dishes, and also getting some samples of the dishes before they were served. We arrived for Sunday dinner reservation right on time. It was small space with about 20 spots. BYOB place, no cork fee. Half of the seat were around the kitchen. There was a scoring sheet for each guest with names of both chefs, the ingredients of the day and the rules. The chefs got 45 minutes for preparing their appetizers, 35 minutes for entree and 20 minutes for desserts. It was impressive to see both chefs were precise with their timing. The dishes prepared by both chefs were so masterful, had intricacy of combining the ingredients and coming up with some sumptuous flavors. Salmon and steaks were cooked perfectly. It was extremely difficult to score the chefs on barest of margins and pick a winner. But per the rules I did pick Chef Ryan Beegel over Chef Alexis Sicklick. The host was also super nice and funny. She did a super job of explaining all aspects of the dinner, cleaning out plates after each round and serving all the drinks. Truly it was one of a kind TV Show like experience for us.

1 Star -- Extremely Disappointing for a $500+ Per Night Hotel…read more I recently stayed at the W Hoboken, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing--especially considering the $500+ per night price point. The location is excellent, but the service, facilities, and overall level of hospitality simply did not match what I would expect from a W Hotel at this price. The service throughout my stay was very inconsistent. The restaurant was disappointing. The only server who stood out positively was Destiny, who was friendly, attentive, professional, and actually seemed to understand what good hospitality looks like. She was the exception. Unfortunately, most of the other restaurant staff appeared very young and inexperienced, and I did not get the impression that they had received adequate server or hospitality training. Basic requests, such as condiments, involved surprisingly long wait times. There was also very little warmth or engagement from the staff. Destiny was essentially the only person who consistently smiled and made an effort to provide genuine customer service. The front desk experience was also disappointing. Staff frequently did not maintain eye contact and at times appeared nervous, uncomfortable, or unsure when interacting with guests. Again, this is simply not the level of confidence, professionalism, and hospitality I expect from a hotel charging $500+ per night. For a hotel at this price point, I expect a substantially higher standard of service, attention to detail, professionalism, and hospitality. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States and around the world and have stayed at many luxury hotels. In my experience, the W Hoboken was the worst value I have encountered in the $500+ per night hotel category. The price creates an expectation of a certain level of luxury and service, and the actual experience fell far short of that expectation. The W Hoboken could learn a great deal from luxury brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Waldorf Astoria, particularly when it comes to hotel management, employee training, customer service, and restaurant operations. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. The property has a great location and could be a much better luxury experience, but at $500+ per night, the service needs to be dramatically improved to justify the price.

I've recommended at least one friend to get married here (and they are) and as far as event spaces go this one is damn fine with a max capacity of about 200 people. Mutli room all with beautiful wood floors, dark leather couches, dim lighting, brick walls. Wow. Definitely Prague in the 1940's. Definitely one of the hipper locations I've been in Hoboken. The cocktail list is extensive and is of the "mixologist" type. They are pricey $11-$13 or so but, that's how much fancy cocktails cost these days. Womp womp. I really can't talk about ambiance on a regular night since I've never been but for an event space, this place is truly dark, romantic and a super cool spot in Hoboken definitely a must stop and see when planning a special event, wedding, bday, fundraiser. Got the steak medium and it was cooked just right. I recommend the handmade ravioli with bologna…read moresauce, it was super delicious!! The Brussels sprouts with bacon were good, not too salty, not bland. The corn creme brûlée was amazing! super smooth with a perfect texture. We ordered oysters and they were fresh. The lava cake was okay. Overall, I really enjoyed both the food and the vibe. Service was great, very accommodating

My girlfriend's birthday dinner…read more It took one hour to even get drinks and I am not exaggerating. We had 3 or 4 different servers throughout our dinner, didn't get a single name. Can't even say it felt like we were forgotten about because we never really had a server to begin with. I think our server was supposed to be the old lady who took our our drink/food order but never brought anything to the table. Had to grab another waiter just to get our drinks (yes, one hour in). The table next to us sat down 15 minutes after us and already was eating dinner after we had been waiting over an hour and just gotten drinks. I spoke with the hostess and they assured us drinks, coffee and dessert would be comped, food on the way. They apologized for being slammed. Appetizers came out staggered. Was weird. Burrata first then 20 minutes later the salad and shrimp came out. We didn't get our dinner until we were about 2 hours in. Got the bill without ordering dessert/coffee because we just wanted to get out of there and THEY DIDN'T EVEN COMP THE DRINKS! They said they would. I've never had a more poor dining experience. $230 dinner with no server, empty promises, and mediocre food arriving at our table 2 hours in. The entire experience ran almost 2 and a half hours. Just terrible, especially on my girlfriend's special day. Unfortunately we will not be back.
