The restaurant was extremely busy, so we did have to wait a little for our reservation, but honestly the food and overall atmosphere made it worth it. We ordered everything family style, which made the experience even more fun. We had the gnocchi with hand-rolled pasta, spicy vodka sauce, and local ricotta, truffle French fries, octopus with lemon potatoes and kalamata olive emulsion, calamari with cherry peppers, crispy lemon, saffron aioli, and sweet tomato, plus the lobster mac & cheese with lobster béchamel and white cheddar. We also shared a steak that was absolutely delicious, even though I can't remember exactly which cut it was. Every dish we ordered was flavorful, rich, and beautifully prepared. The ambiance here definitely gives upscale and elegant vibes while still feeling lively and fun. Gave Blu on the Hudson 4 stars. Went for my mom's birthday and had a really nice time. We sat outside, the ambiance was beautiful and just set the vibe for the night. Service was great our waiter Giovanni was on point the whole time, super attentive and his recommendations were actually really good. For appetizers we had the fried calamari, spicy shrimp, Caesar salad, and the tuna on crispy rice everything came out fresh and flavorful. For our entrées we ordered the skirt steak, lamb chops, chicken parmigiana, cacio e pepe pasta, and pasta bolognese. No complaints, everyone enjoyed their food. Flew in from Miami to try this spot and it did not disappoint! I made my reservation 2 weeks in advance after reading the reviews. My girl and I arrived at 6:55 for our 7:00 and were seated almost right away. The hostess initially attempted to seat is down this long hallway near the service area with no windows. I wasn't impressed and asked her if she could move us to a better table which she promptly obliged. After we sat down at our new table man oh man! Talk about a sexy, sophisticated ambiance! The place had a fun, electric energy to it which I really appreciated! Everyone was dressed superbly! The DJ was amazing too! Definitely set the tone for the night. My friend and I ordered a few glasses of prosecco and she had the lamb chops while I tried the chopped salad and the lobster Diavolo. Both were superb! Out waiter Dylan explained that it was seasoned a little on the spicier side so I asked if they could prepare it a little milder for me if it wasn't too much trouble. They did and it was absolutely amazing. A nice touch was when Jake, the Hospitality Lead stopped by our table to check on us and gave us an even warmer welcome when he heard we were from out of town! It felt like the staff was purposely ignoring our table. They would ask other tables how they were doing and skip our table and ask others how they were doing. It's nice to be acknowledged, especially if it's regarding a negative thing. They could've offered a complimentary drink? Something? Bread? Anything?!!! Such a beautiful restaurant yet the food/service was extremely disappointing. I went to dinner with my daughter and granddaughter who is 7 years old. The decor and feel of the restaurant is gorgeous and sexy - perfect for a date night. The first disappointment was they do not offer a kids menu (despite there being several kids at the restaurant at the time we were there). In my opinion if they are not going to offer specific menu items for kids, at least their appetizers could be more "kid friendly". They do offer chicken parm as an entree (more about that later) and it would seem like that cutlet could be sliced to make chicken tenders. When I asked my waiter (I didn't get his name), he said they don't offer anything for kids and asked if we wanted to order shrimps for her which was a no go as she is allergic. At that point I asked for a bread basket which we were told they don't offer that either. Ok we were off to a great start (not). I started with the "Don't Be Shy" alcoholic drink - it was a good if you wanted a glass of juice as I don't believe there was an ounce of liquor in that drink. My daughter ordered a Sidecar which she said was good. For apps we had the east oysters and I ordered the spicy tuna sushi rolls. The oysters were beautifully presented, however they were so small and for a dozen oysters we only got one slice of lemon to share between the two of us. The sushi roll was good. For entree I ordered the lobster fra diavolo, my granddaughter had pasta with bolognese and my daughter ordered chicken parm. Now let me just say that I have NEVER been at any restaurant that offer any type of parmesan dish that it doesn't come with a side of any type. I mean who eats only a plate of chicken parm? Not only that, you would think the waiter would have asked her if she wanted a side (which we would then know it didn't come with it). We waited about twenty minutes for our entrees and when we realized it was just a plate of chicken parm and asked for a side of pasta with sauce, we were told it would take at least another 15 minutes for the side. How disappointing. I did taste it tho and it was pretty good. My lobster fra diavolo on the other hand was bland. It was slathered in sauce and the sauce was spicy but it had absolutely no taste to it. Lastly our waiter gave me the impression that he didn't want to be bothered - I had to flag him down for everything, including the check. The service was fantastic and my food was so delicious. Highlights were the appetizers because i thought they were so tasteful, especially the shrimp and the crispy rice cakes. The wait staff was pleasant throughout the evening, and the host even came by our table a few times to check in, which I appreciated. I had mine with fries, which were hot, crispy, and a generous portion. I did ask for fries without truffle, and while they were able to accommodate the change, I was surprised to see that they only do truffle fries, not regular fries. My friend ordered the mashed potatoes and said they were good. We also tried the creamed spinach which was great. A little heavy on the cheese/ cream but still tasty. The steak sauces are also an additional charge ($7 each), though they did provide chimichurri sauce complimentary, likely due to the wait. Unfortunately, the food took a very long time to arrive--close to an hour. While the host was apologetic and offered complimentary candied beef bacon while we waited (a nice gesture), the delay was long enough that I nearly lost my appetite, which is a real shame because this was probably the star of the evening. It was sweet and I loved that it was beef bacon so I could actually eat it. But I was so hangry at that point that I ended up packing it instead. One uncomfortable moment stood out: while checking in with our reservation, the doorman repeatedly insisted that I sit while waiting for our table, even after I said I preferred to stand. It became awkward enough that the woman managing reservations had to intervene. The interaction felt unnecessary and uncomfortable as a guest. Have been here a few times since opening and there's a reason I keep coming back. The most recent visit, I walked in around 10pm with no reservation, but was promptly seated. The ambiance is perfect for dates, birthdays, or "just because." The vibe is very upscale and sometimes the music could get a bit too loud, depending on where in the restaurant you're sitting. The food is amazing and there is something for every mood: steaks, sushi, pastas, etc. I have tried some of each but my go-to is the sushi and the pretty signature cocktails (!!!). I recently made it back to Blu on the Hudson, but for a different experience in a variety of ways. First, I drove, rather than taking an Uber. That meant that I needed to either take advantage of their valet parking (at cost) or park in the Whole Food garage behind the restaurant, which they would validate. I selected the self-parking option and took the ticket with me into the restaurant. They placed a sticker on the card that allowed me to exit the parking spot at my leisure for only the $5 that I paid to them directly, rather than the increasing hourly cost that I would have had to pay exiting the lot. Secondly, I was there for brunch, rather than dinner, which allowed me to sample food from an entirely different menu. Also, due to the gorgeous day, we ate on their patio facing Manhattan, rather than in the elegant dining room. The outdoor seating was much more relaxed, but the crowd was still just as stylish. Our server was new, and I did not catch his name, but he was phenomenal! He was so polite, patient with our questions, and really went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Our party was there to celebrate a birthday, so we all decided to indulge in an afternoon cocktail. My Aperol Spritz might not have been the most unique drink on their list, but it sure was well-blended and tasty. While we sipped our beverages and debated what to order for our main courses, we decided to share two orders of the Mini Cheddar Cornbread Muffins. The five little puffs were light, fluffy, and more cakey than dry or bready. They were served with strawberry butter and truffle honey. I initially tried the muffins with only the butter, since I was not a fan of honey, but my brother insisted that I taste it. The truffle sweetness really did make a difference by balancing the fruity flavors in the butter. The layered bite was truly delicious. For my own main dish, I went with the Truffled Mushroom Omelet. They had used several egg whites and a single yolk to make the fluffiest egg patty I had ever tasted. It was stuffed with sauteed, fresh wild mushrooms and was supposed to also include white cheddar, though I had omitted that item. It was served with a rich, decadent truffle mayo sauce that I used for dipping. The eggs were served with a small mixed greens salad, which was good, but was drizzled with a pretty salty dressing. I sampled a bite of the soft, plain pancakes we were able to order for the child at the table and was impressed with how delicious they were. The flapjacks were served with a side plate of compelling toppings like strawberry compote, maple syrup, and lavender whipped cream. Similar to the cornbread, the pancakes really benefitted from the addition of the sweet fruit and aromatic cream. While it was a contrasting experience from my initial one in terms of the details, I still found my following visit to Blu just as delightful. read more

My family and I went for dinner on Easter Sunday. For starters, the service was incredibly slow. It took a long time before they even served us tap water. We placed our entrees order, with our appetizers hoping to speed things along. However, we waited in what seemed like forever before our appetizers finally came out. We ordered the Burrata Di Buffala and the Thick Cut Wagyu "Bacon". No complaints on the appetizers. They were delicious. Because the appetizers were good, we were looking forward to the rest of our meal. However, after we finished our appetizers, we sat there ignored, for nearly an hour before our entrees and sides were finally brought out. One would think that with the long wait, the food would come out smoking hot. However,upon receiving our entrees and sides, NOTHING was hot. EVERYTHING was barely WARM to the touch and NO ONE ever came over to ask if all was good with our food. And, we had many issues with our entire meal but, because we were all very hungry and had no desire to wait another hour to get our food. Sadly, our truffle fries were barely warm and most of the fries were limp. My son's Bone in Prime Steak was hardly edible. It literally had a thick coating of black pepper. So much so, that he had to scrape it off just to try and make it palatable for him because it was all he could taste. Our son who is a foodie and steak lover said, it was by far the worst steak he's ever had which was sad for me to hear because I know he was anticipating a good steak dinner. Our daughter got the filet mignon and when I tasted it, it was bland with a minimal seasoning of salt and pepper. I have no idea how she ate it, because if it had been me, I would've certainly sent it back. But again, with the incredibly slow service, none of us were willing to wait again for them to re-make our food. My husband and I ordered the branzino for two with the lemon bernaise sauce. The fish was well cooked but lacked in seasoning and the bernaise was too thick. They also never brought out an extra plate for us knowing we ordered the fish that was meant to be shared. So, we had to grab one of the small round plates that had not been removed from the appetizers, for my husband to use for his half of the fish and then had no choice but to continue grabbing from the sides with his fork because he had no room in the tiny plate to eat his meal properly. SMH In addition, we ordered truffle fries, whipped mashed potatoes, and the crispy cauliflower which came with a spicy sauce. The mashed potatoes tasted like Idaho instant potatoes. The cauliflower side was good but the sauce was very spicy and much too thick. Additionally, I ordered a glass of wine and our daughter ordered a ginger ale. The guys only had tap water. They were thirsty and finished their water shortly after the glasses were brought out, and then remained empty for the entirety of our meal because no one ever came over to refill any of the glasses at our table. On top of that, our daughter's ginger ale did not come out until she complained halfway through her meal which was ordered over an hour before. While we received our drinks at least half an hour before hers. After we were done with our entrees, I asked the guy that cleared our table if he could please bring out a dessert menu. He said, of course I will be right back but never returned. Twenty minutes to a half hour passed and still no dessert menu, and still no water refills. At last our waiter makes a reappearance and takes our dessert order without any apologies for absence nor acknowledgement of the empty glasses. He takes our order and disappears yet again. And had us sitting at the table for a long time before coming over to get us our check. Upon his last return, he must've sensed that we were displeased with the service and the food. Although we never got a chance to complain. And so, in a small gesture to make it up to us, he removed the two desserts that we ordered from our bill. Nonetheless, we will not likely be back because our overall dining experience was not good. Sadly the food was mediocre, hardly warm to the touch and the service was awful. Had a pleasant dinner here on a Saturday night with a friend who lived in the area. We made a reservation in advance and were seated roughly 5 minutes after checking in with the hostesses. The restaurant is huge and is right on the Hudson River, although you won't be guaranteed a water view. I found it unusual that we were seated at a large table for four even though it was just two of us. It felt a bit awkward at such a large table in the middle of a big dining room. The server was very nice though, and each dish came out promptly. We shared the Hamachi Crudo, the Lincoln Harbor sushi roll, the Branzino, and a side of asparagus. Everything was delicious. The asparagus was just a bit over salted. There are only four dessert options and we were pretty full, so we didn't get anything. They really have gotten it together. I also found the most wonderful waitress, Sarah, and she has served me the last few times. I cannot say how wonderful she is! She is excellent at her job. The food was also very good and the ambiance is nice. The restaurant is designed so you are not on top of fellow diners and I appreciate that. The management team is attentive and kind as well. My friends, already regulars at Blu, ordered Steak and Eggs and the Truffle Mushroom Omelet along with a side of Creamed Spinach. My selection was the lump Crabmeat and Shrimp Cobb Salad (I requested the bacon to be eliminated) which included simple but delicious ingredients such as tomatoes, deviled eggs, avocado and corn in a spring lettuce mix. I celebrated my birthday at Blu on Hudson and it was a great experience. The planning prior was easy and seamlessly. The food was delicious! Drinks were great. And the ambience was beautiful. I would definitely visit again for dinner or to have drinks at the bar. Service was great! read more

We started with a couple mocktails which were both well-made, refreshing, and easy to sip on. Now onto the food! Where do I begin? All the appetizers we got were fantastic. Blu's Signature East Coast Oysters were super fresh, the Rice Cakes were super satisfying with just the right ratio of rice and spicy tuna, and the Thick Cut Wagyu "Bacon" literally melted in my mouth! We also shared 3 sushi rolls which also did not miss. They brought it out in this gorgeous serving platter and every bite was super satisfying and fresh. We ended with the Wagyu Skirt Steak and Lobster Mac & Cheese. The Wagyu Skirt Steak was a little chewy despite being cooked medium as we requested and the Lobster Mac & Cheese had a good amount of lobster but could've used a bit more cheese or butter for enhanced flavor. The Classic Carrot Cake was the perfect way to end the meal! The cake was moist, the cream cheese mousse was soft and decadent, and the candied pecans and butterscotch sauce felt like indulgence in every bite. It has that cool vibe and trendy look and feel. You can have a date, business dinner or even a pregame fun night. The restaurant area is quite massive and the bar scene is where it's at. We made reservation at Blu to celebrate our friend's birthday. Upon arrival our table was ready in few minutes. They maintained their wonderful lobby like waiting area, with lovely couches, firewall and gorgeous cherry blossom room at the left end. All guests were so nicely dressed up for their dinner. We began our dinner with a seafood tower featuring oysters, mussels, lobsters, and shrimps. The deviled eggs with caviar and grilled octopus were equally delicious. The A4 waygu steak was cooked to perfection--soft and melt-in-your-mouth tender. For my entree, I savored the bronzino, accompanied by a massive fillet and an impressive assortment of vegetables and purées. To end the meal on a high note, we indulged in the tiramisu, an incredible dessert that perfectly complemented the amazing dinner. Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable. The drinks were superb, and the dishes arrived promptly and on time. The music and ambiance created a sophisticated atmosphere, reminiscent of dining at a high-end NYC restaurant. We made reservations at Blu on the Hudson for my birthday back in January for 8:00 PM. The parking options available are: The Lincoln Harbor Parking Garage ($15 for up to 6 hours): I later realized the restaurant could have validated our ticket, reducing the cost to $5. Valet parking: $15, and street meter parking: I'm not sure what the meter rates were, as there were no available spaces at the time that arrived. We decided to park in the parking garage, and an employee kindly helped us find the walkway to the restaurant. A note for those wearing heels, the walk from the garage to the restaurant is a bit steep. We arrived 20 minutes late for our reservation after walking from the garage. Understandably, we lost our table, as the restaurant was quite busy, with a crowded waiting area. However, the hostesses seemed to be seating guests efficiently. When we approached the counter to ask about our options, we were told the next available time slot was 10:30 PM, two hours later. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I decided to log into the reservation site we had booked through. To my surprise, there were actually earlier time slots available. I quickly booked a 9:15 PM reservation, and we were seated by 9:25 PM. Thankfully saving us an additional hour of waiting. The restaurant was dimly lit, and had music blasting. I ordered the "Hampton Spritz" from the zero-proof section of the drink menu. It was a bit tart, with a flavor reminiscent of grapefruit. However, I enjoyed it more as the ice melted and softened the taste. For appetizers, we ordered the calamari with peppers and rice cakes topped with spicy tuna. The calamari was served with a saffron aioli (which had a nice citrus touch) and a tomato-based sauce. The rice cakes were my favorite, they were the perfect texture, with fresh tuna on top. For my entrée, I had the Prime Delmonico with a side of whipped potatoes. The steak was good, but not quite on par with some of the best steaks I've had. I did not finish my meal, and the waiter offered to pack my leftovers. At that point, I had about a quarter of my steak and five spoonfuls of whipped potatoes left, while my fiancé had a decent portion of fries left from his meal. When I received the bag, it felt noticeably light. However, after being sick for over a week, exhausted from the walk in heels, and having stood for a while waiting for our new reservation, I didn't think to check the box at the restaurant, or even later that night. The next day, when I finally went to warm up my leftovers, I wasn't expecting much since I had already eaten most of my meal, but I still had expectations of seeing certain things in the box, for instance, the steak, whipped potatoes, and/or fries. But to my surprise and disappointment, there were no whipped potatoes in the box. I had actually been craving them more than the steak that day, so realizing they had been thrown out was upsetting. What upset me most was that I had more whipped potatoes than steak, yet the waiter chose to discard the potatoes but pack the steak. At that point, he might as well have thrown the steak away too, to me, it did not make sense to keep one and not the other. I found that incredibly thoughtless and it really upset me. While the food and overall experience were decent, the mishap with my leftovers left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt careless, and it dampened what was otherwise an enjoyable meal. read more
