We made reservations at Chart House for our anniversary and even noted the occasion ahead of time. You'd expect a place like this to make some effort--at minimum, a decent table. Instead, we were initially offered a mediocre table and had to ask to be moved, then waited (the restaurant was not crowded being a Thursday). Not exactly the kind of start you want for a special night. The restaurant itself felt underwhelming and not particularly clean, which didn't inspire much confidence. The drinks were a letdown--more like overpriced mocktails than actual cocktails, with barely any noticeable alcohol. Food didn't redeem anything. My Chilean sea bass with lobster risotto came out with risotto that looked like it had been sitting around all day--and the "lobster" was basically missing in action. My wife's New York strip was overcooked, plain and simple. The only bright spot was our server--polite, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately, she seemed to be carrying the weight of a kitchen and management team that clearly weren't holding up their end. MAGICAL EVENING FOR HUSBAND'S BDAY. As an east coaster, I'm particular about seafood and dining out and Chart House has consistently delivered a great experience. Their Happy Hour is fantastic, several delicious options with ahi tuna nachos and firecracker shrimp as the stand-outs. Their cocktails are consistently excellent and most of all the service. We went with a group for my husband's birthday and had a blast, largely because we were so warmly welcomed by the host (sorry I didn't catch his name) and our lovely waitress, Sophia. Went with friends for Restaurant Week. First off they have some amazing crafted cocktails some of which are finished table side. Very exotic ingredients and 'fogs'. Wife decided on the Savory Grilled Chicken with a house salad, mashers and crème brûlée. I opted for the Caesar, Lobster & Shrimp Carbonara and mini molten chocolate cake. My Caesar while tasting nicely of anchovies was a bit wilted. The Carbonara was excellent with a decent amount of lobster and 3 large shrimp. My wife's chicken was, in her terms, unremarkable. She said her house chop salad tasted 'spicy'. Crème Brûlée was just okay as well ... hey, it's flan! Lovely evening and our server Chance was EXCEPTIONAL. One friend ordered the Prime Rib which was perfectly cooked, thick and very tasty. read more

I came into Chart House for dinner and left extremely disappointed. Upon arriving, no one was manning the front desk. Someone had to walk over to bring me to a table. After sitting down, the service was pretty brisk and attentive. But unfortunately, the food was subpar. First, the lobster bisque was excessively salty - almost to the point of being unpalatable. I even asked for extra bread to counterbalance the salty soup. The bisque was also separating and wasn't a uniform blended consistency. For my main dish, I ordered the Chilean sea bass. The fish had a strong "fishy" taste, indicating that it wasn't fresh. The overpowering foulness of the fish ruined the dish. Additionally, the lobster risotto that came with the fish was sitting in a beurre blanc sauce which suspiciously tasted identical to the lobster bisque I was served earlier. Overall, I had a very negative experience at Chart House. Even the seafood at Red Lobster is significantly better and cheaper than what you'd get here. It is unacceptable for an upscale restaurant to charge a premium and simply market the same item differently to make an extra buck, especially when the cuisine is sloppily produced and not optimized for both applications. read more

The drive up here with the views of the Rockies is delightful. It was packed, and parking spots were few and far between. Great patio with a thermonuclear class fireplace - something amazing about a Denver evening with cocktails around a fire! Appetizers were amazing - the calamari with a cream sauce was unlike anything I had tried before. Creative and delicious! Prime rib medium rare was perfect, with a nice herb roast crust. It's been over 2 years since I came to Chart House in the foothills west of Golden. I needed to redeem a $25 birthday reward from Landry's program + $25 in deferred rewards that were expiring soon. Their menu is still large, mostly seafood. I was seated by the windows overlooking Denver in the distance. I was served by Sophie. They have a large wine list, cocktails and only 2 mocktails. I tried both starting with the Lavender & Bubbles. It had the Clean Co Gin alternative, Fre Sparkling Brut and Monin Lavender. Very similar to a Bee's Knee. I got a dozen oysters on the half shell served in a large metal bowl with crushed ice, cocktail sauce with horseradish and vinegar dip for only $44. Next was a large chopped salad with cannellinii beans for $15. I got the 2nd mocktail, Zest & Tang with Clean Co tequila with Monin watermelon. A spicy drink. My entree was a new chef feature of Crispy Skinned King Salmon with orzo. Yummy. I paired it with a glass of Rose' from Provence in France. I decided against the usual Chocolate Lava Cake and got an ice cream trio with a glass flute of Lunetta Prosecco. A great meal. I want to come back more often. We haven't been here in a while but have had some great dinners there and especially great Happy Hour meals in the past. A friend that we did the last Happy Hour with some time ago where we all left very pleased with the food and service told me they'd been recently and it was 'just ok'. Well, she was right. We had various happy hour dishes - fried shrimp, sliders, their usually awesome calamari and more - and it was really just ok. It was a bargain so no big deal but if it had been full price we'd have left unhappy. Most disappointing was our server. This young man was unfriendly bordering on surly. His table service was attentive but, he sure put a damper on the experience. All the other staff were terrific however. We'll give it another shot, it's still a nice experience overall. read more

We went for NYE dinner and had a very disappointing experience. My husband can't have dairy, and I knew was a prix fixe menu, but there were lots of options on the menu that would be safe. What I didn't realize is that they wouldn't be willing to make ANY adjustments at all. The only thing we would have required is switching a side dish for something that was already on the menu, not a modification of a dish in any way. The server was completely unwilling to check with the kitchen even in the case of a dietary restriction, and immediately called that out as soon as we mentioned the issue. In the end, only one of the 8 or so mains would work out, and none of the desserts. In addition, the portion sizes of the two dishes we ordered were WILDLY different. Like one was three times the size of the other, even though they cost the same amount per the prix fixe and the smaller dish would have had the less expensive ingredients. The flavor of the dishes was not bad, just "plain" and boring. Finally, I had requested a window seat with a view of the NYE fireworks, both by voicemail well in advance and when arriving at the restaurant. We were in fact given a window seat ... on the other side of the restaurant with a wall between us and the fireworks. read more

There was a big family seated and celebrating shortly before us. The restaurant was busy. Food was delicious. They were out of some items - a couple of fish options, oysters and elk. But they had a great variety of other options. Sophie and the manager were very helpful to me in selecting gluten free options. They had a large separate gf menu. We enjoyed the food, service, atmosphere, views. King salmon was served warm but everything else was hot including the Seabass with risotto and additional sides. Our fav was the Caesar salad. I think some people would find the pace of the food to be slow. We did not. It gave us a chance to relax and enjoy a slow fine dining experience. Good choice for special occasions. read more

And the salad bar was an additional $5.00. We had two people in our party who were allergic to chocolate, and trying to get substitutions was difficult. The word of the evening was "unfortunately." We went there on Sunday evening 12/14/25. The parking lot is VERY dark, no signs. We had five people in our party, with an older woman with a walker. Seating was tight. We asked for a stand alone table, and there was a table for six, but the person who sat us said we couldn't sit there since there was a reservation for that table. They quickly put down menus there, although no one ever showed up. Instead we had a table for 4, that they "made 4"inches bigger" by pulling out small wings. Incredibly tight. We all felt that we weren't wanted. If we weren't celebrating a birthday, I would have left. Equally disappointing was a phone call I made the next day. I called to talk to a manager to relay our experience, and he never called me back. It's been three days. Save your money. Find another restaurant if you want an experience you'll enjoy. read more

The last visit the food was less than par, but cost a small fortune. Stopped in and stood at the host desk for 8 minutes before I walked over to the manager on duty to ask a question. In short, the place had a very dated (the outside and inside have a very 1970s vibe) and rundown feel. The plates on the table were dirty, and the back of the chair at the table next to us had a huge spot of either ketchup or blood on it. My wife ordered from the happy hour menu but was told that the prime rib sliders weren't available because the slicer was broken and that the fish tacos would not be ready for at least 30 minutes. My wife ordered the chicken sate appetizer but it was tasteless and ground and the lettuce for the wrap was brown. I ordered the Chart House prime rib. Despite the elegant description on the menu the cut of meat was barely warm, had zero seasoning, and was bland. The horseradish had no flavor at all, and neither did the mashed potato side dish. It was a dish one would expect to be served at a greasy spoon hole-in-the-wall, not at an expensive, high-end restaurant. 4.5* Surprised at the low ratings here. We came on a Saturday night at ~630pm. Service was quick and friendly; steaks were cooked to order and very flavorful; and price was reasonable. My only gripes were that the shrimp were slightly overcooked and rubbery on the appetizer we got; and that my side of chimichirri was mostly a slab of butter with bits of green in it. Also, went with a vegetarian and the options for those folks are very limited (since this is a steakhouse I am not going to ding my rating because of that). We've been to this Chart House location a few times as well as the one in Old Town Alexandria. The meal we had here taste just as good as the Old Town location. We started off with 3 appetizers (watermelon carpaccio, shrimp cocktail, and shrimp avocado mango stack. Our favorite was the watermelon carpaccio then in a close 2nd was the stack. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. My dining companion had the prime rib and the halibut. We all enjoyed our meals, so I have to believe the people who gave Chart House one star on Yelp had to be a bad experience and hopefully just a fluke. The only thing I can say is they need to bring back the salad bar. It was so good and had so many toppings. Hopefully they will rethink this decision and bring it back ASAP. read more

A dear friend recommended this restaurant after having been a patron many years prior. I was looking forward to a fine dinner and wonderful scenery. The dining room was buzzing from the energy of diners all around. My impression went down after being seated. The view was of the plumbing and I waited for over 5 minutes before anyone asked if any server had been to my table. I am grateful for the server that I did get as he explained the dishes, made recommendations , and was attentive during the rest of service. The best thing I had was the cocktail. We came here on the Monday after Father's Day. I had fond memories of the chart house in Coconut Grove from 35 years ago. We were surprised at how crowded the parking lot was and the restaurant itself was fairly full, there was a section that had nobody though. Service was poor. It took 30 minutes for the server to acknowledge us. When he did, we ordered everything. They never brought us bread (we didn't really want any, but...). The server comped the salad bar because of our wait. It was below average at best. The food was so so. We had a prime rib and the halibut. Halibut was dry and very average at best . Prime rib was on the dry side, but the jus helped. Mashed potatoes with the beef were average, veggies with the halibut were good. We ordered the key lime pie it was nice. I asked if it had cream or meringue topping. It was cream and very nice (warning: he said it varies, so if you care, ask). In the end, they comped much of our dinner (a little less than half). They were apparently understaffed for the crowd and service suffered as a result. The generous comping no questions asked is the only reason this is a 2. I suspect they're trying to save a nickel by not having enough staffing on what the manager thought would be a slow night. All quite unimpressive. read more

What a nice surprise. We went on a Saturday evening for our anniversary. On the menu they had pre printed Happy Anniversary with our names. Although the place was packed, including a large party, service was prompt, friendly and detailed. Our server, McKenzie, was respectful and attentive without being bothersome and loud. She exudes kindness. The appetizer shrimp was great. We had prime rib and sea bass, both wonderful and tender. The desserts, lava cake and cheese cake, were outstanding and the restaurant manager personally delivered them with his congratulations. I can't remember the last time we had such a nice dinner out, and I am PICKY with service, having run a 5 dining room in my past. They even remove unnecessary utensils and glassware! Service was wonderful, management was off-putting. Neither my husband or I have been to a restaurant where the kitchen was located in the middle of the restaurant. We throughly enjoyed watching the chefs make the food, it was truly a wonderful experience. Everything was great until I took a trip to the build-your-own salad bar and witnessed a manager (I think, he was wearing a dress suit) speak to one of his staff members. The staff member was clearly stressed and asking for help, and the manager rudely brushed him off and told him he didn't have time for him. Once the worker walked away, he continued to talk about how stupid and useless this worker was. This infuriated me. Throughout the night my husband and I noticed the "manager" laughing and joking with the other employees (so much for not having enough time) and not once going around the room and asking tables how their night was going. I have never written a bad review, but I cannot stand to see such laziness in management. Food was great but I have only the chefs to thank for that. The service is the only reason this place gets two stars. Way overpriced place. I got a dish that was call Endless Shrimp (or something like that), it was three overcooked shrimp, three WAY overcooked scallops, and a tablespoon of jicama slaw. I ordered the mahi-mahi blackened. It was not. It was pink on the inside and not fully cooked.......upon arriving the host gave my date, Bertha, a menu as we were celebrating her 70th birthday....Sadly, the menu said "happy birthday Randy"..... they forgot to give her a dessert and as we waited and waited.. they finally came and brought her the complimentary birthday dessert in a to-go box, which was fine. Sadly, it was an ice cream brownie.... not exactly what you want in a to-go box. Very disappointed..... and then as you can see ...their response was "here's a link to share your feedback" ..WTH??
