The views were pretty, and the manor house was historic and fun to explore. I just wish they had accommodated everyone into the same room. Also we decided to do the friends and family so right after ceremony Gregory asked me who was taking my decorations down I felt so much stress. The bartenders i hired asked Lawrence for trash bags you can tell he was annoyed he turned around and thru the trash bags at the bartender I witnessed this. I felt so bad for the bartenders I didn't want to confront him because i was scared of him kicking us out. This venue is gorgeous ..... my daughter just had her beautiful Fall ceremony, outside on the patio (150 guests.) We used minimal decor, since the foothills & Red Rocks were stunning; we simply draped the wood arch with white fabric and hung some aisle decor (white tulle & greenery) from the black ceremony chairs. Simple but beautiful. Easy to get to (C-470 & US285 area), and Gregory (venue owner) monitored the traffic reports for our late Friday afternoon event, (so that we could be advised if guests were hung up in traffic.) We appreciated that! Also, Gregory served as the Event Coordinator for the ceremony ...... lining everyone up and directing the procession in. Our DJ took over coordinating things for the reception inside. Everything went smoothly. We opted to rent the venue for the entire day, and that was a good decision. We had all day to decorate, makeup & hair stylist came to the bride's suite, which was large & roomy (Gregory had set up tables for our various "stations" in both the Bride's & Groom's suite - very helpful) We also took pictures in the afternoon, before guests started arriving. A couple catering notes: if you choose to go with a caterer that's NOT on their preferred vendor list, be advised that you will be charged an add'l fee. WRM does have white table linens that are available for a reasonable rental fee. (we supplied our own cloth napkins and table decor) Also, they're on well-water up there, so a forewarning that the water does have a bit of an off-putting taste. All in all, Willow Ridge was a good venue and I would recommend it to others. I do wish that Gregory were more organized as I think he could have provided us with things like a floor plan and notes on the A/V set-up when we booked instead of making us chase him for those items and could have reduced our stress and mitigated issues we knew could arise. Aspects of the venue need an update, but they are mostly the upstairs areas where guests don't go. PROS - Gorgeous views, outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, indoor reception - All-in-one location for the entire wedding - Good value for the money - Venue is pretty much a blank slate so you can really make your wedding feel unique and yours with minimal decorations - Attentive venue owners CONS: -Multiple weddings in a single day means you have limited set-up and dance-floor time. - Gregory is eccentric, which wasn't an issue for us, but we did hear from other people who had their weddings at Willow Ridge that he gave guests lectures on drinking before the ceremony and other sort of off things. - He's very responsive to emails and calls you remind you about payments and rehearsals, but doesn't always answer the questions you ask and answers questions he thinks you should ask instead. - He wasn't very prepared for our walk-through and wasn't sure if there was a wedding the night before or morning of our wedding, so I had to stay on top of details like that (thankfully, I had asked him in advance of the walk-through and was prepared). - He called a couple of days before our wedding to tell us someone else had a wedding the night before so we couldn't do a rehearsal, which we had known for months and noted at that walk-through so that he would know we were doing the rehearsal elsewhere, which was not a big deal but just a little disorganized and a weird call to get. He is VERY protective of the venue, so no kegs are allowed, decorations have to be minimal, and he or his partner Lawrence are there at every turn telling you what you can and cannot do, which again wasn't an issue for us but does limit what you can do and felt a little oppressive on the day of when they would just be standing there watching you when we were just trying to take photos and enjoy the day. - WRM/Gregory does not have an outdoor sound set-up,although there are outdoor speakers that he had set up when we did our walk-through by the cocktail hour area, so make sure your DJ has the right plugs and cords to ensure your laptop or ipod can plug into their (the DJ's) system for cocktail hour. Despite repeated emails to our DJ and Gregory, this question was never answered and we were just told to relax--and then no one had the cords and we couldn't play our playlist. It ended up raining and we had to move inside so it didn't matter as the DJ was able to just play his own songs, but had that not been the case and he was inside setting up during cocktail hour, our guests would have been outside in the silence because Gregory et all couldn't answer this simple question. - The 1980s Laura Ashley getting-ready rooms and creepy piano room. With some minor updates (new curtains, get rid of that piano and make it a sitting room for older folks who want to talk and sit away from the loud dance floor) this space could be really incredible. I didn't want to take getting ready photos here because it was so tacky. - One bathroom for guests downstairs. - Gregory didn't have a floor plan of the venue in soft copy and had to fax it to us. Like the note on A/V, it wasn't a big deal but it would have been really nice to just get it in an email when we signed the contract (pro tip: all seated and others have an e-copy of the floor plan, as do the preferred caterers). read more

The set up was just what we needed, the area was scenic and the facilities were nice (admittedly a bit dated but it is supposed to look like an older house). The DJ was able to move and set up the way he needed to, the area for the ceremony was really nice (no shade though) and it seemed like the caterers had everything they needed because service was great! Recently, I attended a wedding at Willow Ridge Manor. It was easy to find and beautiful! The ceremony was held on the lower deck with red rock formations in the background. The trellis above the bridge and groom was a perfect frame for their union. After the ceremony, we went to the Manor for the reception. The historic building had old time charm with a lovely staircase. The sitting room had a piano which made for a gorgeous backdrop for photos. The parking lot is shockingly small considering how many guests the facility can hold. Additionally, the spaces are much too narrow for the trucks, vans, and SUVs that many people (particularly in Colorado) drive. As far as the food goes, the hit of this wedding was the bloody mary station. The vodka was unremarkable but the candied bacon was a hit! I can't tell you how many of those I ate! Some of the food didn't look appetizing so I wouldn't eat it - count the deviled eggs that looked less than fresh and the yogurt parfait which I had secretly hoped was panna cotta in this category. The breakfast bar was okay. Aside from the candied bacon, the best tasting dish was the cinnamon roll wedding cake which not only was a great change of pace but soft, sweet, and yummy. read more

My wife and I got married here on a Saturday in June 2017. Now naturally you can expect that SOMETHING will go a little wrong on the big day, but Gregory, Lawrence, and Willow Ridge Manor were not it. It was PERFECT. I won't be able to say enough good things about this venue and it's owners, so let me hit the high points: Absolutely fabulous setting. Scenic and tucked into the same rock formations that make Red Rocks Amphitheater a unique and special place, Willow Ridge Manor sits against the foothills with breathtaking views of the mountains, the city, and Colorado nature. The staff? Gregory is the best. If you want, he is willing to jump in as more than a wedding / event coordinator. He was like the hype man before a major show - getting the crowd seated and amped up. I arrived to a roar of cheers as I walked down the aisle to take my place at the front. Better than that, Gregory made sure all of the other details were well attended to - including but not limited to wrangling an unruly jazz quartet who weren't happy with where we wanted to position them, getting the wedding party organized and lined up on time and in order, and generally managing the various vendors to make sure that they were on top of their games. His partner, Lawrence, was right there as well making sure our special day went off without a hitch. For weddings (and similar, I'd imagine) there is a list of recommended vendors that have all been well vetted. For catering, as an example, we chose Fresh Tracks - a whole other review, but wow. They think of everything, having run Willow Ridge for a couple of decades. Greg runs a tight ship and is such a consummate entertainer. Not a lot of parking, outdoor ceremony space enclosed by trees and bushes so you can't take advantage of the view, The photos on the website don't focus of the road that backs up to the overlook point. Strategic photographers can crop out the road and light posts, but such an eyesore to look at. Food was just ok, brisket was fatty and no sauce came on it. Only one bathroom stall for ladies. What an incredible venue to host a wedding. Our daughter and her fiance were married on June 29th. Things could not have gone any better. The outside ceremony area was scenic and made for incredible pictures. When you book this place, Gregory offers to be your wedding coordinator at no extra cost. We hosted 118 guests, and everything went just as planned. Gregory and Lawrence have a list of approved caterers, and it was nice to have the ability to bring in our own alcohol without having the usual wedding markup prices. The outside area also includes a post wedding cocktail area, and the upstairs dining area was perfect. So you can look around but you won't find a better place to host your event. Gregory and Lawrence were incredible to work with, and its a pleasure to recommend them to our friends and family. You won't be disappointed. Went here for my friend's wedding. It's very traditional for a wedding venue. Her ceremony was outside and that meant either music via the DJ (who then had to move back inside) or hire someone. She hired a violinist which was pretty however did not lend itself well to hearing it while it was being played but it was pretty. Hot because it was June. The view was incredible. We had buffet style food which I don't care much for. The potatoes were amazing. The salad, veggies, chicken and the roll were so-so tasted like traditional wedding food. They didn't serve any kind of alcohol during dinner which made a lot of people angry. Their piano didn't work for cocktail hour music... it was nice but I wouldn't get married there for the price she paid and what she got. read more

I got married at Willow Ridge Manor on July 19, 2014 and it was absolutely beautiful. When my husband and I started to look at wedding venues last year I almost overlooked Willow Ridge Manor due to the fact that I was not impressed with the interior of the venue. Upon visiting the space I was able to see the potential of hosting both a ceremony and reception entirely outside. Gregory, the owner of the venue was wonderful and easy to work with but I was shocked when he informed me that he had never had a bride attempt to host both the ceremony and the reception outdoors. Right then and there at our meeting I told him that I was going to be his first! To say that it was a huge undertaking might be an understatement, I am an event planner so I had a lot of knowledge going into planning this event but I was also planning from out of state which made things complicated. Since they had never done this type of event before there was a lot of things that were not standard knowledge such as the dimensions of the outdoor space or the amount of time it would take to turn the space over. Gregory was great about allowing myself and my vendors access to the space to take measurements or just look around and get a feel for the event flow. Gregory is just the man that you want there the day of your wedding, he has worked on hundreds of weddings before and knows just what to do. On the contract he is listed as the Event Planner and he is a great resource for the day of coordination but for the kind of event that I was putting on I needed an additional event planner or event designer really to pull off my vision. In the end we did end up having a few things go awry with the wedding but Gregory was on top of it! He jumped in with a camera to take some photos at the beginning of the day and then stepped in to help us deal with the authorities at the end of the night when one of our guests put on an unsanctioned firework show that caused a small brush fire. I really could not have been happier with Gregory and how he handled the day, stood by us as clients and really worked hard to make sure that our event ran smoothly! I really felt excited about how everything turned out and think that we helped to show Gregory the real potential of his space which is beautiful! I was even happy to see him dancing on the sidelines during the night; it's great to see that he enjoyed our event as much as we did! In the end we could not have picked a more beautiful venue surrounded by mountains and red rocks. Note on Lifestyles: Lifestyles Catering is the exclusive caterer at Willow Ridge Manor and they are fantastic! Dijana was our catering contact and she was so wonderful to work with. She has been working with Gregory for a long time and was very knowledgeable about the venue. Dijana was very honest about all of the food selections on the Lifestyles menu and helped steer us toward items that would work well for our event. She also helped to figure out all of the additional staffing to turn the space over and was a great liaison between Gregory at the venue and my event designer Lilli. We asked a lot of Dijana and her staff when we decided to use my family heirloom vintage china for the wedding, some of the plates dated back to the early 1900's. Dijana talked us through the logistics of using the plates and her staff was so careful when handling them. Of the nearly 500 pieces of china that we left in the care of Lifestyles only one was broken and it was a more modern piece which was easily replaced. The food was amazing, we had a lot of complements from our guests and the staff was so attentive to anything that I needed on my wedding day. They kept alllllll of the money put down on a wedding that was unable to happen due to COVID-19 with the majority of guests tragvelling form out of state and unable to due to risk/age/lockdown restrictions. They were/are rude, non-compromising, and predatory during a pandemic. Currently out ALL of the money for the wedding and only want to work with you if you re-book for the same time next year and/or only if someone takes the spot (knowing that was not going to happen). I hope the money they kept helps to keep them afloat a few more months and eases their conscience while preying on couples who are already hit with financial issues. Venue is nice. A relative of mine had her wedding there. The one thing I was disappointed in was the manager or owner of it. They had tables out on the patio and it got so windy that are drinks were spilling and we asked if they had something to close the patio off and were told no and that's what we get for wanting tables out there. We are not the ones who booked the venue, and there was no need to be rude to guest. Someone also told us well good thing it didn't rain. We also asked for more napkins because the ones we had were soaked and we were told we couldn't get anymore because they are not allowed to get more. The serving staff was awesome. I know you can't predict the Wheather but since we can't they should have something to keep guests comfortable. Overall it has beautiful scenery. read more

My daughter was married last weekend and we had reserved Willow Ridge Manor for the entire day. The venue is beautiful and the owners are very knowledgeable and professional. Gregory met us first thing in the morning and couldn't have been more helpful. He went over and beyond to make sure the entire day ran very smoothly. The bridal party left midday for a church wedding in Conifer. When we returned to Willow Ridge Manor the dinning area was set up beautifully and ready to go. Gregory had met each of the venders and made sure everything was just perfect. Lawrence took over the evening hours and was equally helpful. My daughter used this venue to be wed in this last Summer, and this turned out to be a great decision. Gregory and his staff did a phenomenal job, had the place looking great, and they were great hosts. It started to rain right before the ceremony, and instead of pushing us along, he settled everyone down, including the bride, and had us just wait about 15-20 minutes, as the storm blew over. The building provides several excellent areas for photos, leaving my daughter and our new son some great and memorable pictures. Gregory has people he works with for the catering that were also wonderful. The highway is not a noise factor, so don't let that worry you. If I could give a negative star I would these people are the absolute worse people to deal with! Lawrence and Gregory are terrible terrible! There's a reason why they have a 1 star! I asked on a Monday for a tour, was informed they couldn't provide me with a tour until that following Sunday, I asked if I could do anything earlier and I was told no but they'd schedule for Sunday. When I had spoken with Gregory via phone he said my date was still available, this morning received a email saying my date has been booked. When I called and asked why someone else was able to view a venue I had already requested but they couldn't provide me a tour they just wanted to provide me with excuses and wanted me to accept his apology the date is taken. I asked when this other couple had booked the venue he said Wednesday, but yet couldn't provide me with a tour. He then wanted to tell my fiancé that he said via email he said he could show me Tuesday, I processed to read him our emails and all he says is oh sorry, then tried to play the "are you there" game and hung up. What the actual fuck, you want to apologize for ruining someone's big day. They are terrible managers and I could never recommend this place to any. We had a wedding scheduled for May 2020 which could not go forward due to government restrictions (coronavirus related). For rescheduling, WRM only offered us weekdays in peak months or weekends during the winter. This obviously is not comparable to the peak 3 day weekend price we paid in full 9 months prior to our original wedding date. We asked WRM to reschedule our wedding to May 2021, however, we were told we would have to repay the price in full (charging us a second time) to secure a spring 2021 date. When we told the venue maybe we should cancel the wedding since they weren't being reasonable on a back up date, they stated they would charge us an additional $500 for cancelling. They stated we could absolutely have our wedding at their venue on May 24,2020 as long as there was only 10 people (inclusive of staff). What???? Our contract explicitly stated we will have 60-70 guests which is not legally allowed. We are extremely disappointed in WRM's flexibility during coronavirus. Everyone is in a difficult position and the best we can do is help each other, but willow ridge manor had no interest and only looked out for themselves. Serious ethical issues. This is so supposed to be the best day of our lives and the planning is supposed to be fun, but WRM made planning a nightmare. This was the very first of my list for wedding venues but I left there pretty disappointed. It did have a nice curb appeal, large brides room and great view. I felt like for the price they charge, before the food was a bit much for what they offered. I found that things looked a little shabby in places and wondered what that would look like in a year after committing my money and efforts to this place. My other dislike was the catering, you of course must use their exclusive caterer that did not seem appealing to me at all, prices and the horrible reviews.
