My family ordered dinner from Ripple last night. Since Ripple took over the old JJ Madwell's…read morebuilding, we wanted to give them a fair shot. We try hard to support local businesses, especially here in Conifer where dining options are somewhat limited. We ordered: * a large pepperoni and jalapeño pizza, * a small tossed salad, * and four cheesy bread rolls. Total cost: about $50. The first surprise came when we were told it would take an hour to prepare the order. It was still fairly early in the day, so we assumed maybe they were crafting something extraordinary back there. You shouldn't rush a master chef, after all. When we finally got the food home, the disappointment set in immediately. The pizza looked... medically concerning. Pale. Almost white. It had the visual energy of a cafeteria tortilla with low self-esteem. Then we noticed the toppings. My wife actually poked at the pizza and said, "Maybe the toppings are under the cheese?" They were not. The pepperoni deserves special recognition because I have never seen pepperoni sliced this small or this thin in my life. These tiny little discs were maybe half an inch across. Ripple must have contacted the pepperoni manufacturer directly and said: "I need pepperoni so tiny and so sparse that customers can technically call it a pepperoni pizza, while minimizing any risk of flavor." Even with the microscopic dimensions, they still used them sparingly. The jalapeños were equally scarce. A few lonely little fragments scattered across the surface like survivors of a great topping shortage. The salad was okay, although it's admittedly difficult to sabotage a bowl of lettuce. The cheesy bread rolls did, in fairness, contain both bread and cheese, so technically they fulfilled the contract. Honestly, I believe most frozen supermarket pizzas would outperform this pizza in appearance and flavor, all at a fraction of the cost. We genuinely wanted to like Ripple. We like supporting local restaurants. But too many places in Conifer seem to operate on the assumption that limited competition means they don't really have to try very hard. So we did our duty. We tried it once. But we won't be back.

I was torn between the swedish meatballs and the birria French dip, I got one and my friend got the other. Both were unique in their own way. It was so filing. Plenty of sides. My husband got sausage sandwich, and he said it was flavorful. The salt and vinager chips were different, most of our table did not like them. The waiter was very busy but nice. It took a monent to get our check. I wasn't ever asked if I wanted another beer. I fell like they are more a restaurant than a brewery. They have their core beers, nothing posted about flights or the new rotating beers. Not even a little slip of paper explaining the new beers.

All the foods looked to be great. I was admiring the fish and chips next to me. The business was hopping busy for a Sunday afternoon. Everyone patronizing the establishment looked to be having a good time. Smiles abound. The wait staff was kind, knowdgeable and witty. The tye dye shirts with official branding were a nice touch. The location is great, a comfy brewpub with mountain views. Elk nearby. Ah, Evergreen. I will return. Check it out. You'll be glad you did. Excellent.

Got married at the Alpen Way Chalet in the fall, and it was everything we'd hoped for plus a lot…read morethat my husband and I would never have thought to ask for. Lisa and Tommy, who manage things together, were gracious, thoughtful, and welcoming from check-in to check-out three days later. They'd spruced up the grounds quite a bit since taking over the property, and we thought everything looked beautiful. We loved the pergola out front, the rock and water landscaping, the decks, the mountain-y decor in the rooms, the hot tub, and of course the beautiful pines and rocks all around the property. Just the sort of casual-but-very nice atmosphere we were hoping for. Our wedding party took up the whole B&B for the weekend, and Lisa and Tommy helped us so much in setting up and making everyone feel comfortable, from thinking through the best way to set up chairs to showing everyone around the property to helping control the parking lot as guests arrived. We loved meeting their small flock of friendly, happy chickens. Lisa made everyone feel right at home, and Tommy was kind enough to share some spectacular pictures afterward. The cabins were plenty comfortable and private for a couple staying in Evergreen for a weekend, and at the same time we couldn't have picked a nicer place for our whole group. Next time my husband and I are in the front range of the Rockies, we'll be staying at the Chalet for sure.

If you're rude to people to everyone except guests, would they ever make the choice to spend money at your establishment? Maybe a sign would help avoid this seemingly common and offensive occurrence of people in your parking lot and using your trash can, if you're that sensitive about it? (Note: the respondent was not present during the interaction and thus the response inaccurately portrays their behavior as professional and reasonable, which as multiple passengers can attest it was not.) -- Yikes, don't make the mistake of getting lost and turning around in their parking lot, the owner will come charging out and demand to know what you're doing with her trash bin and throw a fit that you threw away a dog waste bag in the "Dog Waste Here" bin since she "pays for her trash to be picked up" (as everyone does) and then when you apologize and remove the bag from the bin, she tells you angrily that you're trespassing. I get that 2020 has been rough for small business owners, but the owner seems to have a weird attitude for someone who works in hospitality.

Andrea was absolutely wonderful and made the whole day run smoothly. This review is not a reflection on her. Since the day of the wedding, it has been impossible to reach any staff. Our deposit has not been refunded to us even though it clearly states in the contract that the refund will be paid 6-8 weeks following the event date. We are currently at around 24 weeks. We never received a contract in the first place after we paid our deposit. And, we never received a refund for a deposit that we were promised to receive -- even after following-up FIVE times. It almost feels like someone out there enjoyed a $500 bonus. TL;DR I waited and waited to write this, as I kept hoping that Megan in the accounting office would finally send us the refund check that was promised to us on three different occasions. We were never refunded our $500 deposit that we paid to Megan via Paypal on 1/24/24 for a birthday party we had wanted to have on 6/8/24. We hadn't even signed any paperwork or contract detailing their cancellation policy or deposit policy, but we assumed we'd receive that shortly after paying the deposit. Sadly, we had several deaths in the family as well as suddenly losing our beloved family dog all in the same month. The grief was too much for our entire family to deal with emotionally so we decided to cancel our party and reached out to them on 3/1. I spoke to Carl on the phone, and he was kind and understanding and said he would refund our deposit. I figured my cancellation was probably a good thing for them, as our party was a cheaper booking, but being able to book that date for a wedding would bring in so much more revenue for them. I realized I had never received the "check in the mail" as I was promised, so I reached out again on 3/11/24 and spoke to Andrea, who was going to reach out to Carl again. I waited and waited and then followed up again with Andrea on 8/4/24 when it occurred to me that again we had never heard back, but I didn't hear back. I wrote to the main office and Megan again on 8/22/24 and she responded on 8/27/24 saying she thought she had sent it already. On 10/10/24, I reached out AGAIN to Megan. I have never heard back. When I think about this, I get so upset, so I am finally posting the review I sincerely hoped I wouldn't need to write.

All in all, Willow Ridge was a good venue and I would recommend it to others. I do wish that…read moreGregory were more organized as I think he could have provided us with things like a floor plan and notes on the A/V set-up when we booked instead of making us chase him for those items and could have reduced our stress and mitigated issues we knew could arise. Aspects of the venue need an update, but they are mostly the upstairs areas where guests don't go. PROS - Gorgeous views, outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, indoor reception - All-in-one location for the entire wedding - Good value for the money - Venue is pretty much a blank slate so you can really make your wedding feel unique and yours with minimal decorations - Attentive venue owners CONS: -Multiple weddings in a single day means you have limited set-up and dance-floor time. - Gregory is eccentric, which wasn't an issue for us, but we did hear from other people who had their weddings at Willow Ridge that he gave guests lectures on drinking before the ceremony and other sort of off things. - He's very responsive to emails and calls you remind you about payments and rehearsals, but doesn't always answer the questions you ask and answers questions he thinks you should ask instead. - He wasn't very prepared for our walk-through and wasn't sure if there was a wedding the night before or morning of our wedding, so I had to stay on top of details like that (thankfully, I had asked him in advance of the walk-through and was prepared). - He called a couple of days before our wedding to tell us someone else had a wedding the night before so we couldn't do a rehearsal, which we had known for months and noted at that walk-through so that he would know we were doing the rehearsal elsewhere, which was not a big deal but just a little disorganized and a weird call to get. He is VERY protective of the venue, so no kegs are allowed, decorations have to be minimal, and he or his partner Lawrence are there at every turn telling you what you can and cannot do, which again wasn't an issue for us but does limit what you can do and felt a little oppressive on the day of when they would just be standing there watching you when we were just trying to take photos and enjoy the day. - WRM/Gregory does not have an outdoor sound set-up,although there are outdoor speakers that he had set up when we did our walk-through by the cocktail hour area, so make sure your DJ has the right plugs and cords to ensure your laptop or ipod can plug into their (the DJ's) system for cocktail hour. Despite repeated emails to our DJ and Gregory, this question was never answered and we were just told to relax--and then no one had the cords and we couldn't play our playlist. It ended up raining and we had to move inside so it didn't matter as the DJ was able to just play his own songs, but had that not been the case and he was inside setting up during cocktail hour, our guests would have been outside in the silence because Gregory et all couldn't answer this simple question. - The 1980s Laura Ashley getting-ready rooms and creepy piano room. With some minor updates (new curtains, get rid of that piano and make it a sitting room for older folks who want to talk and sit away from the loud dance floor) this space could be really incredible. I didn't want to take getting ready photos here because it was so tacky. - One bathroom for guests downstairs. - Gregory didn't have a floor plan of the venue in soft copy and had to fax it to us. Like the note on A/V, it wasn't a big deal but it would have been really nice to just get it in an email when we signed the contract (pro tip: all seated and others have an e-copy of the floor plan, as do the preferred caterers).
