Nestled in the neighborhood of Highlands Ranch, lies the famous Highlands Ranch Manion! I'd heard the lore around this mansion but had yet to visit it until recently! This estate is really popular for weddings and local events - around Halloween, Christmas/Holiday season and spring - but also allows visitors daily, for free guided tours! The mansion itself is HUGE, ornately decorated and fun to explore! The history of the property is documented on the walls and throughtou the space, but I recommend a tour! My husband and I went to a recent paranormal event - featuring a local business who specialized in ghost hunting. It was a little cheesy at times, but exploring the mansion, on our own, at night, in the dark, proved to be a spooky experience - especially after learning about the lives lived and deaths at the mansion. Perfect ghost territory! Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and able to provide excellent education around the mansion and on those who lived inside. Definitely a must see in the burbs! read more

We arrived and were immediately greeted by Paul. He asked if we were there for guided tour at 1:00, not knowing when we could arrive we didn't reserve a guided tour. NOT A PROBLEM. Paul introduced us to Janan and with a warm and welcoming smile she introduced herself and asked if we were ready for a tour. The history that she shared and the way she delivered the information was very engaging and informative. The history within the castle is something you really need to experience, explore and enjoy. The entire volunteer team that we met were so motivated about sharing the story of the castle and those that lived within it. So if you want an awesome experience and some great Colorado history then you would be well advised to make a trip to Highlands Ranch Mansion. read more

This is a hidden gem in my backyard. Yes it's an event center but you can also just go walk around on your own or get a free tour by a very knowledgeable docent. I took my mom and daughter to just look around but we were greeted by such a nice lady who couldn't wait to give us a full fledge tour. There is a lot of history to learn and lots of cool period pieces to see. The grounds are beautiful, we also took a little hike around the park. I'll make this a weekly haunt of fresh air and beauty. read more

Beautiful estate! We recently visited the mansion for a wedding and loved the venue. I was blown away by the architecture and clear craftsmanship that went into building it. There's a small spot out back with a gazebo for the actual wedding with plenty of space for a cocktail hour. Inside there's an odd mixture of old school yet modern furniture but it works. This is a great venue for any number of guests. The wedding we attended had 100 people and staff paid attention to each one of us. The bar tenders were quick and friendly throughout the night. Staff also checked beforehand dinner as to who had ordered GF or vegetarian options. Towards the end of the night stuff cleared up quickly and didn't miss a beat. I would love to return to this venue for any reason. The views are breathtaking! I only wish we would've explored more of the mansion. read more

Lovely grounds and well kept. However, if you plan on getting married here note that the 12 pm deadline is extremely strict- I was heartbroken on my wedding night when the DJ forgot to do our last song and it was 12:02 and the mansion manger would not allow one last song due to sound ordience in the neighborhood . Funny tho because two old random ladies showed up just walked right into our wedding and drank our wine and no one said anything! Also very strict on set up times and other strange rules. read more

I attended a wedding at Highlands Ranch Mansion back in February, pre-COVID. No masks or hand sanitizer needed to enjoy the nuptials of two beautiful friends. The venue itself is a former family estate (not surprisingly, in Highlands Ranch) and in-between the wedding ceremony and the reception, I checked out some of the old photos and placards that talked about the former owners who took a farm and built out a very fancy private property for horse riding and entertaining in a country home/manor style estate before this became an event space. This was a classic wedding, 5 pm ceremony (starting on-the-dot at 5!), followed by a cocktail hour with appetizers, then a seated reception. My favorite part was the ceremony itself and the cocktail hour, as we could wander around this beautiful, historic home with a glass of chardonnay in-hand. Note that if you're coming from Denver, it's a good 45+ minute drive. And the entrance situation is a little odd, most of the doors to get in are locked and it took us awhile to figure out how to get "IN" the building. But once we were there, it was a very unique and beautiful space for a winter wedding. read more

What an incredible place! My niece got married here! The estate is just beautiful! We came back a couple of days later for a tour. The history is amazing. It's had multiple owners & each has remodeled. Tours are Tuesday & Thursday - led by docents. Very knowledgeable - she loved doing it & it showed. The mansion is huge & the grounds are manicured. I could move in right now! read more

Great swanky historical venue but is not run properly. I guess it's just our tax dollars at work. Very strict rules like one would expect but they don't need to treat patrons as children. If you plan to have your wedding there in the summer the air-conditioning in both the bride and groom's dressing rooms does not work well. The grooms area was 78° all day and the brides dressing quarters was very similar in temperature. It was not all that hot on our wedding day, less than 90° outside. There is no running water in the groom's dressing room to speak of... only a tiny tiny trickle of water comes out of the sink. There is only one temperature (cold) by design. Operations manager had the temperature in the reception area cranked up as well. She only addressed it once we kept propping the doors open to let in some cooler night air. She made the comment that we never complained about the temperature. We didn't complain because the bride and groom's areas AC units were unable to keep up and we assumed the same for the reception area. Once the all powerful wizard adjusted the temperature, it cooled down but perhaps too little too late. It's our opinion that they could make some improvements to this property even though it is a historic building. Management could also drop the attitude. This is not a cheap venue and they could act accordingly. They could also afford to purchase a portable bar to class things up a bit. A folding table does not constitute a bar. read more

We drove 1 hour to come here for pictures and a rude staff member decides to approach us and say we can't take pictures and that we need a reservation in which we didn't know and we asked if we could have just one picture and she decides to say no in a very disrespectful way. Never coming here again. read more

What an absolutely breathtaking place to have a wedding or important event! I attended a wedding here this past week and could not have been more appreciative of the helpful staff, gorgeous landscape and spacious reception area. There is ample parking for everybody and a great patio area for a cocktail hour or outside dinner. I would have never guessed that such a beautiful place was just down the street from Denver! read more

Beautiful wedding venue! The grounds were stunning and the inside was perfect for a large group! The mansion is well kept and inviting!

This place is beautiful! The staff is amazing! Attended an awesome event here and can only imagine what a wedding would look like here. Horses were running in the back pasture, there is an unreal view of the mountains during sunset...such a great place with lots of history! read more

Have to say the remodeling of the back half for weddings is wonderful the utilization of the old garage is very nice. I understand the need to modernize the place for current events but the the study was the best room with access to a private cellar or basement. The rooms upstairs to be changed to meeting rooms totally removes the historical value that it once held. Keeping the his and her rooms as they were is awesome a testimony of taking you back in history. Can't wait to take a day off to do a official tour of the mansion. Seeing this place for the first time in 32 years grips you and I like what Shea Homes has done! Mission Viejo would have never invested the money like they have! Great place for weddings!!!! read more

All the food I had here was awsome. I had a private event here in May and we had a great time. All the servers were smiling polite and simply amazing. The food was exceptional. Highly recommend. read more

I attended a wedding here and although a beautiful venue, the catering staff and house policies were ridiculous. If you are considering a wedding here I would reconsider for these reasons. There was only one bar with two very slow bartenders. As guests we had to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes to get a drink. The mansion has a strict policy that you can only get one drink per person which is ridiculous. My husband got him a glass of wine and one for me but I was not with him so they could only give him one glass of wine. I guess they think that underaged people will be served. But in any bar in America, one can go up and get two drinks. Bring your ID's because they card everyone! read more

I was just married at the Highlands Ranch Mansion on June 7th, 2013 and was so thrilled with the experience! Everyone was so wonderful to work with, and the venue itself is hands-down one of the most beautiful wedding venues I've ever been to. We toured more than 40 wedding venues, and after 2 minutes at the mansion, I knew it was the one. Money simply can't buy a better wedding space in the Denver area. read more

If you are considering a large private party of wedding I would strong recommend the Mansion. We used the Mansion as the venue for our daughter's wedding this December, 2017. It was a fabulous and unique setting for the event. Our guests loved the place, the variety of rooms, the history associated with it created a great conversation piece and given it was around Christmas it was decorated with a holiday flair. The team of Jaye and Courtney guided us through the process carefully and diligently. They were very responsive while maintaining their responsibilities to protect the historic nature of the Mansion. Our vendors were able to coordinate two complex reception room décor setups with minimal issues. Again the Mansion team was a big part of making that happen. read more

I attended a wedding here last fall, and was so taken with it! The property is beautiful, designed perfectly for photos. The mansion itself is stunning, and appropriately decorated. We had the full run of the place, so we wandered the entire area and checked out all the neat nooks and crannies. Great venue for 100-150 or so. Keep in mind you will think you're headed the wrong way when you wander through the neighborhood to get there. But worth it! read more

I am extremely excited about this venue opening in Highlands Ranch. I was able to take a hard hat tour a month or so ago and I was blown away. The Highlands Ranch Mansion was exactly what we were looking for in a venue. Don't get me wrong, I loved having my wedding there, it was stunning and we had an amazing day. I just think the staff really leaves a lot to be desired in terms of service. They seemed to make up answers to make you happy and then goes back on their word later. I know they are still figuring out the intricacies of renting their space, but I had to argue several "new" charges that surfaced several months after I signed a contract - note that these charges were not outlined in the contract or any supporting material. They were added on later and the staff was retroactively attempting to charge brides. On the day of the wedding (after we paid an extra "ceremony fee" which I was told was basically for setup and tear down of the ceremony chairs outside) The HRM staff placed enough chairs outside to keep 40 of my guests standing. We had to postpone the start of my ceremony while the staff quickly put out more chairs. The night before the wedding we found out they had ordered the wrong size stage even though we had in writing that they would order one with specific size instructions from our band. No one was going to tell us, another vendor notified me and we scrambled to rent the right size stage. We're still trying to sort out the stage mess and we have been trying to reach their staff for 3 months now to no avail. I have had 2 other friends get married there with similar horror stories. One showed up for their scheduled rehearsal only to find the venue locked with no one on site, they just forgot about them. Another paid extra for specialty liquor and found out the day of, that it was never ordered. The lack of responsiveness, ownership, attention to detail, and service is really atrocious for such a gorgeous venue. I hope they figure it out soon, it really is sad to see other brides go through the same thing... read more

Great property and location. Dealing with the mansion staff, very poor. Good thing they have outside caterers running the events and not the actual mansion staff. Mansion staff is good at give wrong information and poor follow up. I will not be recommending this event center to anyone. Steer clear unless you want to pay a lot for there kick backs. read more
