Highlands Ranch Mansion - Walking up to the mansion for the first time

Paul introduced us to Janan and with a warm and welcoming smile she introduced herself and asked if we were ready for a tour. The history that she shared and the way she delivered the information was very engaging and informative. The history within the castle is something you really need to experience, explore and enjoy. The entire volunteer team that we met were so motivated about sharing the story of the castle and those that lived within it. So if you want an awesome experience and some great Colorado history then you would be well advised to make a trip to Highlands Ranch Mansion.

Nestled in the neighborhood of Highlands Ranch, lies the famous Highlands Ranch Manion!…read more I'd heard the lore around this mansion but had yet to visit it until recently! This estate is really popular for weddings and local events - around Halloween, Christmas/Holiday season and spring - but also allows visitors daily, for free guided tours! The mansion itself is HUGE, ornately decorated and fun to explore! The history of the property is documented on the walls and throughtou the space, but I recommend a tour! My husband and I went to a recent paranormal event - featuring a local business who specialized in ghost hunting. It was a little cheesy at times, but exploring the mansion, on our own, at night, in the dark, proved to be a spooky experience - especially after learning about the lives lived and deaths at the mansion. Perfect ghost territory! Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and able to provide excellent education around the mansion and on those who lived inside. Definitely a must see in the burbs!

Not only does The Barn have all the charm you're looking for, but their team is absolutely incredible at helping plan your perfect day. Don't take it from me, ask any of the vendors and they'll also tell you The Barn is their favorite venue. The food is amazing and they're happy to work with any dietary preferences. They offer multiple ceremony sites with backup plans should Colorado's weather get in the way. And they deliver a top notch day. The Barn is also VERY affordable, even for smaller weddings. Ours was 50 people and came in under budget even with a top shelf open bar and elevated menu. Seriously, this place cannot be beat. The day exceeded our expectations thanks to our coordinator Tayler and the entire staff at The Barn. It was absolutely perfect.

Broken into three sections: Self serve meat, fruits, salmon, potatoes, etc Waffle, omelette bar Self serve desserts Drinks included (Alcohol drinks for an additional price) Great atmosphere, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We had come in prior to the event to introduce ourselves due to having our (oversized) service dog. Isa had made special arrangements for a larger table to accommodate us. Much appreciated. This is a place we will be returning to for many occasions. Highly recommend.

We toured a number of Denver-area venues when we were getting started with the planning, and Ashley…read moreRidge stood out to both of us immediately. We absolutely loved the location, with gorgeous mountain views in the background, and we were also in love with the ambiance and décor, which had a kind of modern luxe feel to it with an absolutely stunning crystal chandelier in the entry, beautiful recessed LED lighting in the ceilings, and large two story floor to ceiling windows in the ballroom. We also both appreciated the very up front pricing breakdown we were provided after touring. It's a bit hard to get a true "all-in" price from some venues, and we've heard of other family members who got bills at the end of their weddings which they weren't necessarily expecting, so having a clear all-in price up front was definitely appreciated while we were planning. The catering was seriously impressive. Both of us loved all of the food, from the appetizers to the mains. This hasn't always been my experience at other weddings - I've had to choke down my share of overcooked chicken or fairly basic cheese and cracker appetizers at other events. Quite a few people mentioned how good the food was; the prime rib carving station in particular was a very big hit! The quality of the catering really added a lot to the overall atmosphere. We absolutely loved having a dedicated day-of coordinator and banquet captain! Calypso was a delight to work with in the planning stages, was very proactive about checking in with us to make sure things were on schedule and very responsive to any questions we had as we were planning out the day! She was extremely organized and efficient in coordinating everything on the day of; we honestly didn't have to do any setup or coordination or problem-solving at all on the big day. We both felt very well taken care of, the whole thing just flowed with an efficiency that looked almost effortless somehow. We brought a pretty substantial amount of our own decorations to give the whole thing a personal touch, and they even broke all of those down and packed them up for us so we could just grab them early the next morning, which was an entirely unexpected but much appreciated little touch that freed us up from having to do any teardown after the wedding! Wedgewoods all in one packages took a lot of the stress out of vendor selection for other services too. We got to print lovely invites and save the dates through their stationary website, got an excellent DJ included in our package, worked with photographers who were familiar with the venue and had shot a number of weddings there (which makes a noticeable difference in the efficiency of getting all your posed shots done after the ceremony), got an excellent baker to do our cake, and got a wonderful florist to do centerpieces, bouquets, and an arch installation. Having quality vendors who have worked this venue before really contributed to a seamless flow on wedding day, and we were in love with the work all of them did, so we greatly enjoyed having all of those vendors included in our package from the get-go! Honestly, having planned a wedding this way, I'm struggling to imagine doing it any other way now. I don't really see how it could be possible for the planning and execution to be any more seamless. Several of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they'd ever attended; easy to write that off as maybe just a nice thing for a guest to say, but it honestly seemed pretty sincere, and we got that feedback from more than a couple of people. The whole thing ran like a well-oiled machine and I think people really noticed that. A big thanks to the team at Ashley Ridge! It was exactly the day we wanted, we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out!!

They reached out via text, via email, going back and forth 15+ times to schedule a tour. I cleared my calendar. Only to find out the date is not free at the location we wanted. Like... Wedgewood Weddings had this information! Why did we waste both of our times to plan when, had they read or been able to see my inquiry, we would have realized right away it wouldn't work? Even the back and forth to pick a date for the tour was impossible. For example, I said no Wednesdays. What did they suggest? A Wednesday! This was so frustrating and I wouldn't recommend working with them.
