My husband and I just had our 15 year wedding vow renewal at this venue and it was nothing short of amazing!!!! The venue has just been updated and is absolutely gorgeous. The views of the Mt Roseley and the beautiful green meadow are breathtaking. The outdoor gazebo where the vows are done is stunning! All of the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!!! 5 stars all around. read more

My wife and I were married at Deer Creek in August of 13' and couldn't have asked for a more picturesque, Beautiful and memorable place to get married. Christian and her assistant, Sarah were so responsive and personable that made our planning process easy and actually fun even from a distance (we live in Chicago). They were organized, eager to help and gave lists of top of the line vendors to work with. Christian was welcoming and made us feel so comfortable on their Ranch. She even gave my wife a warm hug and calming words of advice on our wedding day. Deer Creek Valley Ranch will always hold a dear place in our hearts. I'll never forget the amazing sight of my wife coming over the Covered Bridge on a horse drawn carriage to marry me. Now I hear the place is even better now that their Man Cave is done! I hope we get to go back and visit again soon! read more

I don't even know where to begin! My husband and I went to Deer Creek and instantly fell in love with it. After being there 10 minutes and meeting Christian (owner) we both just looked at each other and agreed that this was the place we were going to get married! Christian is warm, organized, and willing to lend a hand or an idea! We got married out in the field surrounded by mountains. We had our guest and wedding party brought out in carriages and were blessed enough to have beautiful weather. If you are looking for a beautiful outdoor venue with charm and character... you need to go visit Deer Creek. My only regret is that we live in Chicago and will not be able to go back in and see the site where we married! Eric and Christina Johnson read more

DCVR is the most special venue in the world! My husband and I are thrilled we were married there. First of all, Lindsey treated us absolutely amazing! She made the whole event planning process so unique, intimate and special to us as a couple. Second, the location is STUNNING with so many beautiful scenic backdrops. And third, all of our guest told us it was the most fun wedding. From the awesome man cave, to the saddle bar seats & swinging barn doors, the barn is a place to kick back and have a blast! Everything went smooth from start to finish! Oh, and the recommend GREAT vendors. I'm glad we took their suggestions. Thank you DCVR! We hope to come back someday! Love, Olivia and Jonathan read more

We looked at a ton of places to get married (from Vail to Lyons to Evergreen to the piles of golf courses south of town) and Deer Creek stuck out to us because it was not only a beautiful, natural place, but an effortless and wonderful experience. Lindsey was easy to work with and they offered a bunch of helpful documents to make the planning easier. It's definitely a quickly, rustic, character-filled location and our experience is commemorated like none other because our pics capture that natural beauty. read more

Deer Creek Valley Ranch is one of the best venues in Colorado. We researched and visited a LOT of venues, and are so glad we finally found Deer Creek. First of all, the venue itself is just gorgeous. The barn has a rustic feel while still being super nice and comfortable - there's heating, air conditioning, and real (nice) bathrooms! I didn't even realize that was something we would have to consider until we visited a dozen other venues that were more expensive with no on-site toilets. There are 2 ceremony sites to choose from. We chose the gazebo site, and the views were amazing. Our guests were mostly from out of town, and they could not stop raving about how gorgeous it was. Next to the gazebo, there is a well-kept field with yard games to play, and our guests had so much fun. The only downside to the barn is that if you have more than 100 or so guests, some will need to sit upstairs, and it is a bit isolated. However, we really only had people up there during dinner, so it was not an issue. We utilized the amazing outdoor fireplace patio for speeches and first dance, and although it was a little chilly (especially for August), there was such a cozy feel. The "Man Cave" is also an amazing bonus feature. We kept having to pull guests upstairs to dance because everyone just wanted to hang out downstairs and play games because it was so cool. The venue itself is amazing, but Lindsey, the Site Coordinator, was awesome to work with. She was super responsive and was always there to answer my questions. You can tell she really cares about her couples and just wants everyone's day to go as smoothly as possible. Deer Creek Valley Ranch definitely ticked all of the boxes we were looking for in a venue. The value is really great for what you get, and all of our guests were super impressed. If you want a Colorado rustic mountain feel with elegance fairly close to Denver, look no further. read more

Deer Creek Valley Ranch (DCVR) was the first venue we visited during a weekend both our parents were in town. We planned on visiting 5 different venues during their stay but by the time we left the second location we realized we couldn't stop talking about DCVR and realized no other place would top it. We booked it that day and never looked back. There are plenty of reasons why you should choose DCVR but if you're planning a wedding, you're probably already a little overwhelmed so I'll share with you my top three reasons why I strongly recommend this venue: 1. Breathtaking setting: If you can't already tell by the many photos on their website the venue is absolutely gorgeous and shows off the best of Colorado's scenery. The restored barn, patio, and gazebo (our ceremony site) were all well maintained and each had their own beauty and elegance. We didn't have to spend very much on decorations because of the beautiful setting both inside and outside. That was a big help in the last few months of planning! 2. Guests will love it: Your guests are going to love hanging out at this venue. They have plenty of options when it comes to places to relax, celebrate and enjoy. Between the lighted patio and deck (cool off from all of the dancing and enjoy crisp mountain air), the loft (a place for guests to get away from the noise, catch up with old friends/family, and look out onto the property), the man cave (where guests can play a number of different games like shuffle board, pool, and foosball), and the dance floor, there was something for everyone! 3. DCVR Staff: I can't begin to say how much I appreciated the help and support Lindsey, the venue manager, provided throughout the entire process. She was quick to answer questions and provide guidance. They also invited us up to an opening house which proved to be very helpful in getting ideas and finding other vendors. Bottom line: Visit the place, if it fits your style, book it because you won't regret it! read more

Deer Creek Valley Ranch is a beautiful, charming and unique venue but not worth the hassle. We found the owners, their assistant and the way they run their business unprofessional and would not recommend having a wedding here. We dealt with constantly changing policies, drastic discrepancies in pricing between the assistant and the owners, finger pointing and gossip about other vendors. We didn't trust Deer Creek Valley Ranch to follow through with their promises and were on edge for months leading up to our wedding about what would pop up next. We would cringe every time we saw an email from them. The bride, bridesmaids and 20 month old ring bearer were LOCKED IN THE BRIDAL SUITE (twice!) just minutes before the ceremony began. The owners and their assistant were "unable to help" so a family member had to climb through a second story window to get us out (TWO TIMES!). Afterword we were told that the door was not broken before our party arrived, suggesting that we broke their (very old) door. We were blamed for damage done to the curtains as we were trying to escape the room. (FYI, we noticed the curtains were torn at our first visit to the ranch months before.) If you choose to get married here, be ready to pay their assistant extra money to do her job at Deer Creek Valley Ranch. They require a Day of Coordinator and it just so happens that the assistant is a "professional" wedding planner. You will be paying her for doing things she should be doing as the assistant to the venue including driving to and from the venue even though she has to be there already. In addition you will have to find and pay for extra insurance for all kinds of things that they appear not to cover. Again, Deer Creek Valley Ranch is a stunning venue and our wedding was beautiful but I would not recommend getting married here if you would like to have a hassle and stress free engagement/wedding or any peace of mind what-so-ever. read more

I didn't get married here but almost signed a contract with them. The ranch and all the land around it is absolutely stunning and was exactly what I was looking for, however, the space was going to be a tight squeeze for the size of wedding we were planning to have. I had mentioned when we went to look at the venue that we were planning on having around 180, maybe only 150, but tops 180 at our wedding. The assistant told us this wouldn't be a problem at all so we were considering it. They were very responsive to emails and were willing to answer any and all questions I had. We were very close to signing a contract but something just didn't seem right with the size and amount of people that could fit, so I asked one more time if it could hold 180, this was when I was told that 180 could fit but they would be split between the main floor, the loft, and the deck outside. This wasn't what I wanted and am glad I listened to my gut. I'm sure if I would have booked with them and cut down my guest list, it would have been an absolutely beautiful wedding, I just wish they would have been upfront about the capacity and how they actually fit that many people. read more

History
Established in 2011.
The First to Love This Land This is the real deal, with a colorful history as a working Ranch. Originally homesteaded by George S. Parmalee (oldest son of John Parmalee, for whom Parmalee Gulch is named), he built the massive original barn in 1865. Crafted with hand-hewn timbers and wooden pegs, it stood over three stories tall on a stone foundation. Creative Beginnings What is now a quaint renovated cottage next to the barn was once the stage coach stop between Denver and Fairplay. Since it was a natural stopping place on the wagon road, George capitalized on this by applying for a post office there in 1870. The old stage road passed between the barn and the original ranch house. In 1927, that house burned and was replaced by one built just west of the barn. The original location lies in what is now the US Highway 285 right-of-way. According to Harold Warren's Bits and Pieces of History along the 285 Corridor, most of the original chimney is now buried in highway fill.

Inspired by their own Love Story, Tim and Christian Marasciullo have decided to present Deer Creek Valley Ranch as a premier destination for you to enjoy. In their quest to restore the Ranch to the glory it deserves, they began by dismantling the old bridge and replacing it with the covered bridge you see today. Then they opted to share the quaint heart-shaped lake by building a deck and gazebo on its shore. Now with the main and upper floors of the Historic Barn fully renovated, the Ranch is available for you to share the ultimate expression of your own Love Story.

My wife and I could not have selected a better venue for our wedding. Before I talk more about DCVR, it must be noted that this review is LONG overdue. Our wedding was last October, the 4th to be exact. The change in season made the venue more visually spectacular than we could have imagined---if you're from Colorado, you know exactly what we mean!! We were very excited with the different options available to us to give ourselves the wedding of our dreams: indoors or outside for the ceremony? If outside, travel the beautiful unpaved road past the covered bridge and crazy awesome old tree to a wonderful secluded setting where all around you is nothing but beautiful Colorado nature---including a breathtaking look at Mt. Evans! Still outside, you can select an amazing wedding setting upon a gorgeous deck attached to a vintage gazebo that overlooks a naturally filled pond!! Oh, and the pond has it's own island! Still outside is empty area to imagine your own setting and let your imagination run wild (like to horses that roam the grounds)! Inside also has great potential for a most amazing wedding. The rustic mountain barn is what you would expect from a small town in Colorado! The inside is actually more amazing than the outside---the attention to detail is quite remarkable. Once you get to meet Christian and Tim, you will be educated on the history of the location and barn, and I bet you will be quite amazed. Although what many would call "young" or "new" to the wedding & event venue scene, once you meet Christian, you would have believed she'd been around this business for decades. The professionalism, the enthusiasm to see utter joy and delight in both the Bride's and Groom's faces (but especially the Bride), the genuine commitment to offer you the wedding of your dreams and the dedication to see it through!! Christian will make you feel like family from the first minute you meet, and you will find yourself unexpectedly feeling like you belong there (and you do). Christian and Tim will share with you what their wedding meant to them, and you will be convinced that it's their passion to give others the opportunity to enjoy the same magic, the same joy, the same laughter, the same fun, the same everlasting love. Now, stop reading and let your intrigue and excitement take you over to DCVR and meet the amazing Marasciullo family, you will be just as happy you did as we were...and are!! read more

This venue is a beautiful haven in the mountains, surrounded by mountains, aspens, and blue skies. The barn is rustic yet elegant, and extra decorations are not needed since there are fun and ornate western decorations throughout the barn. Christian is a wonderful woman to work with and genuinely desires to make your day as special as it can be. She is organized, attentive to detail, flexible and easily reachable. Christian has made relationships with numerous vendors who also enjoy working with her. I would highly recommend Deer Creek Valley Ranch to anyone who desires to have the most memorable day of their life in a gorgeous mountain setting! read more

This venue is absolutely beautiful. There is wonderful scenery and the decor is great. My wife and I had are wedding here and this was by far our favorite vendor to work with. Cece the venue manager is probably one of the greatest people on Earth. She helped us out with so many things I don't think I could possibly list them all. You can tell that she truly loves her job and cares about her customers. When it came to planning our wedding Deer Creek Valley Ranch was by far the best choice we made. If you are thinking about having a wedding here but are on the fence about it I'll give you some advice. Book here, you will not regret it. read more

We were married in the fall of 2012 at Deer Creek Valley Ranch. The setting was absolutely stunning with the fall colors in full swing. The venue was rustic and intimate. The owners are very accomodating and commited to helping each couple create their perfect wedding. The owners pay attention to every detail and are very thorough in their communication and planning with the couple prior to the wedding. We were so happy with how our wedding day turned out! And our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about the ranch and the barn! I would definitely recommend DCVR for those looking for a mountain wedding venue! read more

My daughter was married here 9/13/14 and it was everything we could have hoped for.We worked with Brandi and she was amazing. She was on top of everything, which turned out to be a good thing as the wedding planner was terrible. Brandi was in contact with the vendors, super organized and NICE. The setting could not be more beautiful and the barn was perfect for the reception. Everyone said it was the best wedding they have been to! I agree. read more
