Used to be The Porehouse but after ownership changes, Ms. Leah continued her buisness under a new name, Leah's Place. Nestled right next door to Bake My Day and easy to find! Ms. Leah is a very warm hearted and professional person. She is always smiling and we pick up conversations easily from where we left off before. Makes you feel right at home and comfortable from the moment you walk in the door. I have had to reschedule due to buisness and she worked with my schedule with no problems! Now, the services I recieve are sensitive in nature. Ya know.... think of Brazil (get me here Ladies?). Sometimes with these services you take a gamble when you go somewhere you're not sure about. Being new in the area and reading hit-or-miss reviews for this type of service, I took a gamble. Soooo happy I did! Leah makes sure you are comfortable and does a fast, clean, and accurate job. I have been recieving these type of services for over 10 years and Leah is crazy quick, but thorough! I can be done completly within 30 minutes. Also, I have read dissapointing reviews of other salons in the area where cleanliness is a problem. Not at Leah's Place! Gloves are worn, a new dip stick is used with EACH application, clean "bed" to lay on. Leah takes care to maintain cleanliness. Look at her health inspection.....100% ! That's great when you're dealing with wax. No double dipping here!!! Services are priced competitively and not too expensive. I am happy with the services I pay for and the amount for which I pay. I would always get my eyebrows and lips threaded. Since I only come once every 2-3 weeks - some months even longer, I get a different person every time to do my eyebrows. Until this past Tuesday, I have had no issues. They mostly do a good job, hence I am reluctant to give them only one star. Check in is quick - sign in sheet at the front desk. They are pretty fast at getting you in and out so the wait isn't long. They accept credit cards for payment. Prices are pretty affordable. I am only posting a review today because I want to share that if you feel like something is wrong, do speak up. When I had my eyebrows done, this lady was pulling pretty hard. I assumed since I have thicker eyebrow hair, it was expected to hurt. I was tearing up and had to turn my head away when she was pulling pretty hard in some areas. Again, since it was so quick, I just let her finish in hope to just get out of there. It stung really bad when she put the aloe on it and I knew then she probably had cut me with the thread. If this happens again, I will just stop the technician next time. I encourage everyone to speak up. I apologize for the blurry image but I ended up with 3 cuts on my left upper lid. This area is thin and I know I don't have a lot of hair in the upper eyelid area anyway. It is pretty painful and overall, I am really disappointed. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for many years and never did I had this experience.
