It was such a nostalgic treat--it immediately reminded me of my childhood in India, when I used to eat butterscotch ice cream almost every other day. The sweet, creamy flavor brought back so many memories! I also loved the ambience and the service. It's cozy, cute, and has such a relaxed vibe that makes you want to sit and enjoy your coffee for a while. A really lovely spot to slow down, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy a nostalgic cup of coffee. Definitely recommend trying the butterscotch!

We all ordered different milks -- whole, skim, coconut, and oat -- and they were able to accommodate all of us! I really liked my iced latte, which was rich without being overly floral or sweet. The pastries were also a hit, including the lemon poppy muffin, cherry turnover, chocolate croissant, and the spinach, mushroom, and cheese danish. The outside of this coffee shop and apothecary doesn't exactly have curb appeal, but the inside is bright, clean, and stylish, combining sleek lines with softer botanical elements to create a welcoming space. The barista was... indifferent at best, borderline unfriendly at worst. We did ask a couple questions that seemed to irritate her, but we were the only people in there, so we weren't holding up a line or anything. It was a bummer to feel unwelcome, but we were getting the coffee and pastries to go regardless, so it didn't ruin our breakfast.

We ordered the iced pistachio latte with almond milk and the sweet chocolate iced blend with almond milk and a shot of espresso. Both drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. I'm very delighted that I've found a coffee shop that has a pistachio drink that actually tastes like a pistachio! The customer service was fantastic, the restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, although not as spacious as many coffee shops it's still manageable, and we saw online that they offer monthly barista classes. I most definitely plan to return to this establishment!

The barista helped me pick out the perfect latte. I got the Island Latte, which the barista told me has toasted coconut flavors with a hint of pandan. I had them make it semi-sweet... There's limited seating inside, but I found a small table to get some work done (wifi access with purchase). It was a bit hot and humid inside, so I was a bit uncomfy. But that's Texas summer for ya!

Thet serve lavazza espresso and some enticing hot chocolates. One is likely your standard hot chocolate but they also have an Italian hot chocolate which seems so rich and deep in flavor. They'll even pour it over your gelato, like an affogato of sorts but hold the espresso. I saw they serve "actual food" here too if you want to grab a sandwich or something. But note that parking sucks. There's bound to be a few spots with metered parking along the street but try to get a spot across the street if you're lucky, which has free parking for 2 hours. The ambiance is eh as it is kind of no frills. They focus more on the quality of the food and drinks rather than interior aesthetics. Just think of plain functional tables and chairs.

Not sure but rest assured I will be going there in person (probably tomorrow). I needed something super healthy with ingredients I love this evening but it needed to be light and tasty. The Avocado Caprese Toast was exactly what I needed. Every bite was amazing. It's like a salad atop a piece of toast but with perfect presentation and execution like a 5 star restaurant. I cannot tell you how good it was. More of an update to come once I visit in person. When I glanced at the menu, I saw "cannoli" and am seeking an establishment that doesn't put chocolate chips in the filling. Yes yes, that's my excuse for going in person tomorrow, just to see if they have them. I'm sure I won't get anything else.

I've ordered both espresso and matcha lattes, and although I'm more of a coffee person they were both so tasty! The interior is very open with lots of light, and there are a lot of seating options so I've never had trouble finding a place to sit. Wifi is fast and convenient for studying or working. Parking is also very easy. I will definitely be back! I've also tried a pilates class at their attached studio which was a lot of fun! The classes are small and intimate, and the lighting is definitely a vibe.

I…read morefirst learned about Duo through signing up for a pilates class, and I fell in love with the place more through the people and the vibes in the connected coffeehouse. From a chat with the barista, I learned that Duo started because the husband had a love for coffee and the wife had a passion for pilates, so they thought "why not combine the two?" The River Oaks location is the founding store and they have since expanded to a second location as well. The people who work here truly seem happy and are eager to share the stories of their founders, which makes the place even more special. During my visit, I tried the birthday cake latte, which is a seasonal drink, and the flavors were also beyond what I've tried elsewhere. I'm typically not a fan of birthday cake flavored items, but I was feeling adventurous so I told the barista to surprise me with a drink from their menu and that's the flavor they ended up picking for me. When I received the birthday cake latte, I wasn't all that excited but all prejudice fell away after the first sip! I didn't adjust any sugar or ice levels like I typically do for my drinks, yet the drink was just right! Overall, I am just amazed by the people, the vision, and the gem of a place that I sort of happened into on a random weekend. I will definitely be returning again frequently for pilates, lattes, and/or fun conversations. Pro tip: initially it looks like visitors have to use street parking, but I confirmed with the staff that the parking lot across from the coffeehouse is free to use as well. Pro tip #2: there is option to order ahead with the QR code in image attached. I have not tried, but that may help skip the lines and make it easier for drink pickup. Pro tip#3: going for pilates here makes it so much easier to grab a quick bite or drink before/after workout!

The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment I walked in. I ordered a churro latte with whipped cream and it was absolutely delicious. I also grabbed a blueberry muffin, and they warmed it up perfectly. The outside had a slight crisp while the inside stayed soft and moist. The atmosphere is what really sold me. There are cute outdoor tables, cornhole games, fun artwork throughout the space, and a welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I pulled out my laptop and got some work done comfortably, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover they also serve alcoholic beverages and stay open later in the evening. It feels like a coffee shop and neighborhood hangout all in one. Whether you're looking for a place to work remotely, meet friends, enjoy a coffee date, or spend time with family, I highly recommend checking this place out. I'll definitely be back!

They use Monin syrups for everything which is fine I guess but my matcha just came green and wasn't in any way attractive in the cup. I'm used to having to mix my oat milk and ingredients into the drink, but that was not necessary here. I tasted the drink and did not like it and since it was so pricey, I tried to just get through it, but I ended up taking it back and getting a lavender limeade refresher which ended up just concentrated lemon juice, water and lavender syrup. The drink was three dollars less than what I originally paid for and they gave it to me as an even exchange so that is kind of annoying as well. The people are nice, but I am not sure this is a coffee shop. I plan to return to.
