    French roast coffee bean
    Wanda N.

Hidden gem!!! The gentlemen was so knowledgeable on coffee bean!!! We got to sample the c&c and French roast! I love both to be honest!!! One is stronger than the other but I can definitely consume both! I chose French roast because I want the Smokey coffee taste. Overall, great experience here and will be back to get more coffee bean!!

We have been picking up fresh roasted on site coffee beans here since Bill and Bill were working the counter. Sumatra, Moca Seneni Yemen, and Kenya are top on our list. They have a huge selection, all of which can be seen on their website. www.javacoffee.com Give them your email and they will send you a list of two coffees and one tea they are offering specials on at the beginning of each month. They are tucked back in a L-shaped shopping center on Fondue @ Westheimer. Typically, they have samples of brewed coffee and tea at the counter. Support local!

I love coming here. The owner is so sweet. He's educated me on all things coffee. From the different aromas to the the scale of acidic coffees, it's a multifaceted curriculum and very interesting to learn about. I purchased the Toddy cold brew from here and it's been fun exploring different blends. He has lots of other "coffee equipment" and a selection of herbal teas and even gifts. Cute place from the smells when you walk in the door!

My favorite coffee so far has to be the Costa Rican "La Minita", an incredibly rich and smooth medium roast that I can just drink straight up.

The best black sesame latte in Houston…read more I'm always looking for black sesame flavored drinks ever since I tried it in Seattle, so I was excited that TwoTone had it. The nuttiness of the sesame goes SOOO well with the espresso taste and it's a good creaminess too. I also like the texture of the bits of sesame seeds in the drink. The aesthetic of the cafe is modern with street-style flairs, it's a really cool space. I also love that there are Filipino flavors on the menu like ube and pandan. Most workers are super nice and say your name like they know you. They're also super attentive to ensure that everything with your order is perfect. Jonah was very welcoming and helpful, making sure we got a menu while in line! The weekdays seem to be better for wait-time, with little to no wait. The weekends however are packed and usually have lines. If you're not a line person, I would definitely come on a weekday. TwoTone is probably the best specialty coffee you can get in Houston, especially in terms of Asian flavors and creaminess. If it was closer to inner Houston, I would probably come here everyday.

You can tell they care about quality, and I absolutely understand why this place stays busy. That being said, the wait time was very long. I waited about 30 minutes from the time I ordered to actually receiving my coffee, and this was on a Wednesday around 10 a.m. I'm not sure if that's their normal flow, but it was packed. Thankfully I didn't have anywhere to be, because if you're stopping in before work or during a tight schedule, definitely plan ahead and expect a wait. The only real downside for me was the timing and ordering process. Spending close to $10 on one coffee plus waiting that long makes this feel more like an occasional treat rather than an everyday coffee run. I'll admit I may have been a little cranky from the wait, but I do think it's fair feedback. Overall though, my coffee was delicious, and because of that, I would absolutely give them another chance. Good things take time, I guess.

I may say this is the best matcha shop in houston honestly. my biggest concern was that it would smell like a nail shop, but it doesn't. they executed this concept very well. there's tons of small seating inside, but ofc we are going to crowd the door entry area. I got lychee bloom, they do a lychee milk tea, and for the jasmine, a jasmine milk tea topped with matcha. I think they explain the drinks very well when you get there. im still trying out different drinks but, I am sooo close to finding "the one" I have enjoyed duo matcha, that specialty one with toffee and cream, lychee bloom, and matcha jasmine. but my recent one was Isuzu, latte, sweetened with agave 50% sweet. I haven't had one I hated, b=however there was one that came close, which was pistachio, it had a genuine pistachio connection, but I would add a gram of matcha extra bc the pistachio literally took over. other than that, I am coming back weekly to try different drinks. good rec!

I was given advice and chose the Duo Matcha, and the outcome was good. The drink was priced pretty reasonable for the quality that was given. The drink cost $9.75 after taxes. It was really delicious--the Matcha was very high quality, unlike some other places I've bought a latte from. The color was a vibrant green, and it had a good umami flavor, slightly grassy yet semi sweet at the same time, but not overly sweet so that you couldn't taste the Matcha. The Matcha cloud was sweet but not overpowering, so it complemented the Matcha latte well. The only drawback was the ice in the latte. In my opinion, there was a little too much ice, so you need to drink it within the 1 hour mark, or it will dilute the drink quickly which will affect the taste. Also, just a tip (not a criticism of the place): make sure to take the cookie out as soon as possible and eat it on the side, because it will get soggy in the drink and separate, making the drink grainy from the cookie crumbs. I recommend this place.

I ordered a 16oz pistachio Frappuccino, a Turkish baklava and another round pastry. The Frappuccino did have a rich flavor of pistachio that did not taste artificial while still keeping some of the coffee flavor and the sweetness was just right by not being too sweet or the lack there of. The Turkish baklava had a nice crunch to it due to the outer layer and on the inside was a smooth creamy texture both pairing well with each other. The other dessert or pastry, I'm not sure on the name but it was my favorite. It also had the same crunch as the baklava but the center had a sweet nuttiness to it that reminded me of a Mexican dessert, although small the flavors made up for it. Service is pretty quick as there seems to be about 3 maybe 4 employees behind the counter and the area is very large with a seating area that is just as large.

I had to look around the shop for a few minutes before order coffee - a lot to look at with bakery items (many middle eastern specialities), gelato, ice cream, baklava, candies and more. The coffee was excellent - a person brought it to our table. Ample seating. We sat around for around 45 minutes there. The bakery/café is in the middle of a strip center - very easily overlooked. I would recommend you stop here to pick up some baked goods or even try their Dubia Chocolate ice gelato (or it may be ice cream). Ample parking and friendly people working here. It would be a challenge to leave here without some baked goods!

Dubai chocolate ($6) - This consisted of a large milk chocolate bar filled with rich pistachio cream and kataifi (crispy shredded phyllo dough). It tasted amazing and much better than most places selling these. Pricing was reasonable. Overall I enjoyed my latte and dessert. I felt bad for that employee who had to handled everything alone and noticed that some customers were getting impatient with the wait due to the lack of staff. Hopefully the owners will add another person to the schedule and alleviate some pressure off that one employee. I ordered the Mazajj coffee with a splash of honey and it was very good. The coffee had a delightful aroma and the honey added a perfect touch of sweetness. I also ordered the Dubai chocolate bar. Although it's smaller than the ones I've had in other stores, it was just right for me. It's a good size if you're looking for a few bites to satisfy your craving without overeating. The price is also reasonable for the size. I was told that a local family makes the Dubai bars for them and they are made with dark chocolate.
