Great place to purchase roasted nuts and coffee beans and sweets of all kinds. We enjoyed a couple mocha frappuccinos without whipped cream, i liked them better than my wife, too sweet for her. I purchased a pound of whole Golden Coffee beans, ground some of the beans and i'm sipping on a cup right now, a light roast with very nice flavor. They put your coffee beans in a tin can with a pull top....cool! Very friendly people and lots of goodies. Next time we need to try some of their roasted nuts. The can the beans i purchased came in had very generic info....no roast date or specific info...please find a way to fix that.
This place was incredible! Went on a super busy Saturday night and was impressed with how fast the line moved. Got a latte and cheesecake and the cheesecake was probably one of the best I've ever had. Coffee was definitely unique while being strong and bold.
What an amazing place! Came here to check it out after checking out of our dank hotel room and instantly fell in love and felt so much better about the city. You walk in and you're transported into this awesome world. Trust me when I say that you are literally transported to a whole new world! We tried the famous Dubai chocolate ice cream and a few other desserts. Got a latte and hung out in their cozy seating area. The vibe was just so so nice!
This place was quite a surprise. My daughter wanted to meet for coffee and this place was out of the way for both of us. But she heard about it with great reviews from her friends. I had to look around the shop for a few minutes before order coffee - a lot to look at with bakery items (many middle eastern specialities), gelato, ice cream, baklava, candies and more. The coffee was excellent - a person brought it to our table. Ample seating. We sat around for around 45 minutes there. The bakery/café is in the middle of a strip center - very easily overlooked. I would recommend you stop here to pick up some baked goods or even try their Dubia Chocolate ice gelato (or it may be ice cream). Ample parking and friendly people working here. It would be a challenge to leave here without some baked goods!
Rating based on coffee, atmosphere/options & comments about 1 fruit dessert. Coffee: 4.5/5 Great, strong, robust coffee. I usually order a cortado, but the cashier didn't know it -- I got a cappuccino instead. The barista later offered to fix it or add an espresso shot, which was great service. They followed up with staff, too. Oat and almond milk available (no soy). Atmosphere & Offerings: 5/5 Loved the variety! - Nuts: Huge, seasoned selection with free samples at cash register. - Gelato: Nice flavor range. - Mediterranean desserts: Baklava and Dubai chocolates. - Chocolate-covered fruit: Cute social-media trend--looks like fruit, chocolate shell outside, soft filling inside. - Coffee beans: Fresh and customizable blends. The space is large with plenty of seating, candy, gifts, and coffee gear. I almost skipped it thinking it was more of a market than a café, but the coffee, service, and vibe impressed me. Highly recommend. Only issue was the fruit dessert. Fruit Dessert: 1/5 I tried the mango-shaped dessert--pretty but disappointing. The inside cream wasn't sweet, had tiny fruit chunks, and the chocolate shell lacked flavor & crunch. I've had them before at Suzie's pastry shop in Houston & it was fantastic. Even my family disliked this one. It actually was so unpleasant that I might retry it next time to see if something was just wrong. Overall, Excellent coffee, great service, cool atmosphere. I'll be back for more coffee and to sample other foods to see how they taste vs looking good.
As a coffee lover, I'm drawn to places that skillfully roast their own beans. However, the Golden Roastery is so much more than a coffee shop. It's a market place that offers so many different items that I found intriguing. The store is large and packed various chocolates, wraps, nuts and desserts. The coffee drinks are very good but not robust in flavor. My favorite latte was very well balanced with milk, coffee and chocolate. I purchased roasted beans from some of my favorite parts of the world and now loving coffee at home.
Wow! I can't believe I've waited this long to come here! It's a must visit for Middle Eastern desserts and goods! I had seen several mentions of this place online, and I knew I wanted to visit. There's a lot going on here. They offer coffee here, crafted with their in house roasted coffee beans. The ice cream and chocolates, as well as other desserts are made from scratch here. Various spices and roasted nuts can be bought in bulk. Plenty of imported packaged items can be found here as well like the TikTok famous Chinese fruit shaped ice cream. If you enjoy chocolate, you're in for a treat. Not only do they carry a great assortment of individually wrapped chocolate, but they offer several variations of the viral Dubai chocolate. To the side of this establishment is a good sized seating area for you to enjoy your tasty sweets and freshly brewed espresso. Here's your chance to try the knafeh. It's absolutely delicious! The staff is very attentive and friendly. Can't wait for a return visit!
First time stopping in Houston. I will Absolutely return on my next trip out here. The Dubai chocolate and strawberries was simply heaven! There's plenty of spices, herbs, nuts candy, baklava treats for anyone. I do suggest if you don't know what you are doing, like me, come it's someone that knows what they are doing, or ask for help. I bought some baklava and it was amazing, I wish I would have gotten more.
Coming into the store there is a broad selection of nuts, spices, candy, chips and much more along with pastries towards the back wall and even some viral Japanese ice creams. I ordered a 16oz pistachio Frappuccino, a Turkish baklava and another round pastry. The Frappuccino did have a rich flavor of pistachio that did not taste artificial while still keeping some of the coffee flavor and the sweetness was just right by not being too sweet or the lack there of. The Turkish baklava had a nice crunch to it due to the outer layer and on the inside was a smooth creamy texture both pairing well with each other. The other dessert or pastry, I'm not sure on the name but it was my favorite. It also had the same crunch as the baklava but the center had a sweet nuttiness to it that reminded me of a Mexican dessert, although small the flavors made up for it. Service is pretty quick as there seems to be about 3 maybe 4 employees behind the counter and the area is very large with a seating area that is just as large.
Omg this place is legit! It has all kinds of stuff from around the world but especially like middle eastern/Mediterranean desserts. The place is spacious and has a large variety of things to choose from-nuts, chocolate, chips, ice cream, even their own cooked/baked kitchen things. Dubai chocolate if you really want some this is another place you can get it from. The employees seem friendly and I can see this place being packed on the weekend. I just found the viral chicken ice cream and they had the other viral ice creams in the freezer.
Golden Roastery was worth my 30 minute drive. Upon entering, i was as totally overwhelmed. It's huge with an assortment of pastries, candies, spices, nuts, ice cream and more. It took me a while to settle on a pot of turkish coffee, a few turkish delights, and a cup of Dubai chocolate ingredients. One could easily spend half their paycheck here. Service was quick and helpful as I had many questions. They also have a really nice large dining area where you can enjoy your treats and listen to some relaxing music. Definitely check this place out!
The best kunafe and crepe I ever ate. Beautiful cafe with authentic decoration. Highly suggest. Parking is right in front of the cafe.
We were hunting down Dubai Chocolate in Houston area, and saw Golden Roastery has a great review. We stopped by and tried the original Dubai Chocolate and the Strawberry one. Overall, it's a very nice place to explore. They have tons of different kinds of snacks, chocolates, sweets etc for you to choose. However, the Dubai Chocolate was OK for me. 3/5. It has a spice blend that I'm not too fond of. Or maybe that's the real Dubai Chocolate Go try it. Let me know what you think!

We found this place on Google Maps while looking for a late night coffee place to do some computer work. We saw it had good reviews and stayed open late. We didn't realize it had a big store as well as a dining area. There were a lot of sweet options and a variety of drinks. The employee was so kind enough to take time to explain all the different baklava options and another employee helped me choose a sparkling, refreshing drink. We chose a high table top to sit at and work. There were a lot of people hanging out in the main sitting area. I had ordered a couple of their specialty baklava for my friends who really enjoyed it. I would love to come back and try more unique baklava options. read more
Golden Roastery is similar to Royal Roastery and located less than 2 miles away from it. They too offer nuts, pastries, spices, cakes, chocolate, ice cream, baklava, Turkish delight, knafeh, coffee and tea beverages. Service is friendly and they offer sampling of their goods. White Dubai chocolate bar - $11 - I think I'll stick to the dark chocolate or milk chocolate varieties as this was a little too sweet for me. It was a good bar, with plenty of pistachio cream and crushed kataifi on the inside. Adeni chai - ($5) - Not as creamy as the Adeni chai I had at Royal Roastery but this was aromatic and had strong cardamom flavors. Overall, this is a great spot to experience Arab culture and some unique treats and beverages. They have a large seating area to socialize. read more

I visited Golden Roastery to try the Dubai style chocolate. Upon walking in, there is so much more! There are lots of spices, specialty nuts, ice cream, and a bakery. Tim is the gentleman who greeted me and gave me the option to try a few things, including the Dubai style cookie bar! It is delicious and I actually preferred it over the chocolate bar. We purchased the chocolate. Golden Roastery is also known for their specialty drinks. I didn't get to try any on this visit but when I'm in the area, I'll stop by again. They are open until midnight! read more

Love love loooovvvveeee this place. As I fan of chocolate how can I not. I spent a ridiculous amount of money and everything with the exception of a few of the pastries where delicious. I will say that's a personal thing, nothing wrong with the pastries. The chocolate covered strawberries, delicious. The Nutella bubble waffle, delicious. The Dubai cheesecake, delicious. The insane amount of chocolate candy i took home.. yep, delicious. It was a long way from my house but so worth the drive. I would definitely recommend. read more

An amazing coffee shop, Turkish & Middle Eastern sweets shop, and brunch spot, especially for those with a sweet tooth. They serve a variety of dessert coffees like Frappuccinos, mocha lattes, etc. There are dozens of varieties of homemade individually-wrapped chocolates. There is a bakery case full of baklava & flaky pastries, a handmade gelato case, a dessert case with cakes, brownies, and Dubai chocolate sweets, and an aisle of international potato chips & crisps. You can even purchase a Turkish tea set. Finally, you can order stuffed sweet crepes, croissants, or loaded waffles. There is a seating area off to the side with tables and chairs to enjoy your treats there or take them to-go. The staff was friendly and busy. Houston is so amazing because of so many diverse & authentic culinary experiences. I'm glad I visited and picked up coffee and a large assortment of chocolates. read more

Oh my goodness! 5/5 40 minute drive was worth it! we got thr large cup of Dubai chocolate covered strawberries, deliciousness in a cup! Golden Roastery really knows how to layer this up! They have so many other items! We went home with a jar (so excited) and grabbed a milk chocolate bar. They had options of dark chocolate, cake pops, gelato, bubble waffles, etc. Don't forget a cup of water to go with all the yumminess! Let me know if this post was helpful. As exciting as it can be, I really like this location for Golden Roastery. Fondren is the corridor from Farm to Market Road 1093 to Hillcroft SE Asian area. I drove by here many times but never noticed this restaurant. Inside looks like a fancy palace. Everything was shiny. No wonder it has the name of "Golden". Thanks to my foodie friend Sara introducing this restaurant for some kanafeh. Since I can't have cheese, they offered the one with chocolate. Man, that weighs like a brick. The actual kanafeh was very tiny compared to the amount of chocolate. I also ordered a blackberry tea because someone at the table was drinking it. It looked amazing. And I like the taste. Except it was too sweet for me. I'll be sure to ask for no sugar next time. read more
I returned to try the viral Dubai strawberry cup. It was incredibly rich and creamy--definitely more than I could finish in one sitting. I wish they had informed me about the smaller size options, as I wasn't aware they existed. Oh well... leftovers! read more

After discovering this place just a few days ago, I went here for the first time last night after dinner picking up a Dubai Dark Chocolate Heart and 2 chocolate coins. I've had Dubai chocolate in some form from 3-4 places already and this one at Golden Roastery was my favorite of these for sure. The dark chocolate heart I got was really delicious, rich, creamy, crunchy and had just the right amount of pistachio vibes too. The dark chocolate outer layer was so tasty, full of cocoa punch and certainly solid in texture. The middle was runnier and creamy with some pistachio filling and that pistachio drizzle on top was great too. The middle was also crunchy with a cookie base to it. Multiple flavors and feels all came out superb. Best of all imo, the dark chocolate really stood out most with just enough good pistachio to not cover it up, but add something uniquely tasty at the same time. Pistachios are pretty much the only nuts I like by themselves. Personally speaking, you can never have too much dark chocolate in a dessert, bc it's so addictive. The coins were for someone else, but I took a bite and really liked that too. These are more on the sweeter, softer and creamier side. The service was very friendly and welcoming. I need to try their crepe version of what I got next time as well. read more

Beautiful space and very friendly staff. We came specifically for the Dubai chocolate kanafeh but tried several other treats! There was sooo much to choose from but we ended up getting the biscoff kanafeh, macrons, a few other random chocolates and a turkish coffee. Everything was delicious and I enjoyed the biscoff kanafeh, definitely a different profile than the traditional but it was light and very crunchy which I enjoyed! read more
Admittedly I only came here for the viral Dubai chocolate lol. However my cousin and I decided to order some coffee while we were here and really enjoyed the flavor. It was super strong but the quality was superb. It took about 30 minutes to come out but it being made on sand so I guess that's the reason why. Unfortunately, I didn't really care for the taste of the chocolate. I ordered 4 pieces and it cost $30 which is kind of expensive for what it was. I felt like there was no pistachio in the chocolate-I give it a 6/10. The place is beautifully decorated; there's a lot of spices, nuts, Turkish delights, tea sets, etc to choose from. Definitely a place to check out if you're in the area! read more

My wife and I have been wanting to try Kanafeh and I think we saw Golden Roastery on social media, so we decided to venture out to this side of town after our newborn's doctor appointment. We got there at around 1030 AM. The parking lot is big so you'll definitely find some parking there. As you walk in you'll notice the grocery store -like chocolate and nuts section, to your left is a dining area to hang out. The place is big and beautifully decorated. I was greeted with enthusiasm by the staff as I was about to order. We really came for the Kanafeh, but they said it's not usually ready till 11:30. I was a little sad, but the staff was so apologetic they gave me a discount on my purchase today and promised me a free slice next time I come back - super top notch customer service. Since we didn't get the kanafeh we got an assortment of Turkish delight and smoked cashew which were both really good. As I was checking out, I got to sample Arabic coffee that I'll definitely have to get next time - I liked it more than the espresso drinks I ordered. Overall kinda bummed about the kanafeh, but definitely can't wait to come back. Good people like this make you want to support them even more. Definitely check them out! read more
