My son was craving BBQ when we arrived into town so he chose this place in downtown Lafayette…read more There is street parking available. When we first entered I thought it was small until we were seated in another dining room. There are long tables for seating. There is a bar as well. We started with the Crispy Pork Belly Bites which were sooo good. Then we all ordered a different dish and they came with different sides. It was all delicious and my son was happily satisfied! Good size portions. All our BBQ meat had good flavor. Service was friendly and efficient. I like that the bottom of the menu there are symbols to indicate what menu items are gluten free, vegetarian or vegan. Very casual atmosphere. Recommend trying it!

This is my favorite BBQ in Lafayette or West Lafayette. It is so good. (My favorite BBQ in central…read moreIndiana is Big Hoffa's in Westfield, look up my review of it. Excellent). The ribs at Revolution are smoked with a delicious rub. Great flavor. They don't fall off the bone. I'm not sure if that's because they're smoked or what. But they're good. The brisket is amazing. This is a must try. They have some kind of pepper blend rub that will knock your socks off. It's so juicy and delicious. The seasoned tots are really good and crunchy. The baked beans are fabulous. The mac n cheese is terrible. No flavor. Has some kind of Cheeto dust on top. Don't get that. They have sweet tea too. That's so hard to find now that we left the South. The nachos are excellent. We always get a half pan. Tonight the avocado was not quite ripe enough yet. It was pretty firm. Regardless, those nachos with pulled pork were delicious. Service was great on a busy Friday night. Our server was Holly and she did a great job. They also have homemade pies and other desserts. I have yet to get any because I'm too full after dinner. I think I heard a server say they were out of several desserts. The Purdue students came back this week so I'm sure this place has been hopping. If you're in the area, I highly recommend this place. You can't go wrong here.

If you enter a fried chicken place and the first thing you see is something about their famous…read moresauce, that is a major, major red flag. Fried chicken, (specifically non-breasts because yeah, breasts taste like nothing) should taste amazing with no sauce. Harold's chicken was cooked crispy and was good quality but tasted like nothing. Just nothing. I did get their hot sauce and that sauce is very good. Of course the chicken tasted good with hot sauce. The fries were just ok. I arrived a bit after normal lunch hours, so was not too upset I had to wait 20 minutes for them to fry my chicken. You may want to call ahead. The restaurant itself is pretty dumpy from its Cozy Tavern days. And it was about 60 degrees in there on a nice spring day. The AC was full blast and I could not eat in the restaurant. It may sound crazy, but if you want some really good fried chicken, try the Krispy Krunchy Chicken gas station restaurant chain. There's one in Dayton which I have not been to, but the one I had up north was 100% off the chain.

The same large mirrors are in the wall and the red vinyl booths still exist from the old bar. The plates that identified the location of the old beer wall remain, as well. There is no sign that says 'ORDER HERE' so you have to figure that part out by yourself. The staff member that eventually greeted us was polite and patient with us as she explained the menu. We were not sure about what sauces we wanted so she was able to give us a sample of the mild sauce. It tastes alot like Arby's sauce. We each ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders dinner that comes with fries, coleslaw, and a piece of bread. They have bottled drinks available such as soft drinks and PowerAde. A 20oz soft drink bottle costs $1.89. While we waited for our order, there were multiple people that showed up for Carry Out orders and they took multiple orders over the phone. Our food came out and in the sack included salt/pepper and a plastic fork/knife combo. There are napkins on the table butt no ketchup or other sauces. I looked, but did not ask, for ketchup and did not see it anywhere. Our chicken tenders portions were very large, thick and juicy. They are served on top of the fries and the bread. There was not a lot of sauce in the tenders n The slaw comes in a 2oz plastic cup. We both are two of our tenders and the fries. We saved the other two for a snack later because we were full. My wife wanted sauce to go for later. She asked the woman at the register and we were charge $0.55 for a cup to go. That seemed kind of much for sauce to go, but we paid it. Overall, the food was excellent and reheated well. An update to the inside of the restaurant is certainly needed, but other than the party of 10 that arrived to have a birthday party as we were leaving; most of the business was CARRY OUT. So far , Harold's has the best chicken tenders in townn
