We ended up here while killing time as my son got his haircut. My wife and I were both hungry, but wanted something filling that wasn't as bad for me. As we passed Charley's (not this location, the one a few miles west on East Broad Street), I asked if I had eaten there before (her job is to tell me what I have and haven't eaten in this life and more important, if I enjoyed it). She told me I had had it in Polaris, once, years ago. She said I liked it, but kept going back to the Chinese food restaurants during subsequent visits. Charley's, it is. I didn't think to check to see if they had an app, but then again, hunger expedites things. I took one look at the menu and immediately decided on the Chicken California (I needed a break from greasy burgers and wings). I was enticed by the Chicken, Provolone and Ranch combination, in addition to the traditional lettuce, tomato and pickle. I'm also a big fan of bread, so it must be good. I consider that an equal part of the set. I also ordered fries to round it out. I'm not going to give my hunger pangs credit for influencing my assessment on this one; this sandwich was amazing! The chicken was firm and tasty, the vegetables were fresh, the cheese was melted perfectly and the ranch rounded it out perfectly with a non-spicy kick. This sandwich had what I needed: Balance. By balance, I mean that you could taste each ingredient's strong presence, while enjoying the sensation of a combined, new flavor, all as one. And the bread, just what the doctor ordered. Firm, crunchy and flavorful. I was halfway through my sandwich and already anticipating my next time ordering one. The fries were nice and hot, crispy, and went well enough without ketchup - but I added it anyway. Shortly after, I downloaded the app and was immediately notified that I had been rewarded $5 off of my next purchase. Return visit guaranteed. Yesterday, I went to the East Broad Street location to make sure my first time wasn't just a fluke. Thankfully, it wasn't. Same great sandwich! After I picked up it, bang, another notification of $3 off of my NEXT order! Hence my dilemma... I'm a creature of habit, so I need to try other sandwiches. I just don't WANT to. read more

For some reason this location has a track record of sending out wrong orders for us and tonight was no exception. Even with the manager taking our order and repeating it back to us for accuracy all three sandwiches were delivered to our table wrong. The staff was nice, apologized, and remade the sandwiches as we had ordered but the streak continues. The general manager followed up with a visit to our table to ensure everything was made right and tasted good. I think the primary source of confusion is their ordering system. Most Charleys locations ask you what cold toppings you want as part of their cooking assembly line. For some reason this location asks you this upfront but their register system doesn't provide that flexibility as it only captures what hot customizations you want (no onion, no green pepper, no mushrooms, etc.) The dining area has always been clean and the beverage area well stocked. Once the orders were correct they were tasty which is why we come back but the constant trend of it being wrong has become a running joke for our family. read more

I dont what to think about Charly's. So its name usually says cheesesteak. And at one time the chain had eatable cheesesteaks. But I recent years they have added chicken tenders, chicken wings, chicken "cheesesteak" sammies (no steak, just chicken on the sammie). And worst of all, mayo is part of the standard sammie. Yuck. The other things are of average flavor. On our most recent visit, we picked 2 10 piece "wings" combo. The chicken was part drumsticks and part wings. We ordered 2 types of rub and 2 types of the sauce. The chicken with the ribs tasted like plain chicken. No hint of the rub was detected by at least one of us. The sauces were flavorful, but too sweet. Worst of all is the 30 plus mins it took to wait for the food. None of the food was inedible . It was okay. Which is why I gave 3 stars. read more

We ordered online for lunch and the service was great. The servers in the store were very friendly as well. The sandwiches left a lot to be desired. We ordered a Chicken California, Chicken Philly, and a regular Philly with fries. All of them barley have anything on them. It's more bread than meat & toppings. Whitehall, Ohio location opened yesterday. So today I went there for lunch. Drive through was backed up and long line inside, as you would expect at 12:30 PM on a Friday. The sandwhich: not a grilled philly steak. Plain bun open on the bottom of the box. A little mayo, couple little small wedges of tomatoe and a light sprinkle of chopped lettuce, could not been more than a teaspoon, a slice of pickle. Then the steak, topped with cheese and a couple slices of bacon. I don't know their idea of "grilled". The cheese had been melted some how. The tomato, pickle and lettice had some how been heated,,,,, cooked lettice and pickle where like warm, soft and wilted. The meat was dried out, no moisture at all. Hard to get down dry. Fries showed no signs of cooking, i.e. white, not golden brown. And fries where room temp. And had melted cheese poured on them. And a sprinkle on bacon crumbs. Might give them another try in a month or 2 to give them time to get management and staff trained. read more

First visit tonight with wife and the kids. Three sandwiches (#10 cheeses steak, one with white American and two with cheese sauce), and a chicken tenders combo. Overall, we were not impressed. First, the food didn't seem fresh. The meat on our sandwiches was dry - almost as though it was precooked then reheated. And wasn't that hot either. The chicken fingers had a good breeding but no real flavour. The fries weren't anything to brag about. For $9.99 (large sandwich combo), I would expect more. Sandwich was very small and I was hungry after. Very hungry. I miss Great Steak Escape, and will make the drive next time I crave a cheese steak. read more

The service here is beyond terrible. The manager (blonde girl) that was there at the time must have ZERO experience in customer service or conflict resolution. After explaining to her that they charged me for food 1 hour after placing my online order WITHOUT sending a confirmation email AND after I tried to call them 21 times during that hour to ask if my transaction actually went through, her response was "I'm not giving your money back because your order is right here"... that was it..... mind you, I never received notice on what time my order would be ready, cashapp did not record a transaction from them until an hour after placing it and I did not receive an order/ticket number for my food. I didn't receive any indication that my transaction went through, which is why I tried calling them 21 times!! As a business owner, I always focus on finding the root of the problem when any issue arises. When I spoke to the general manager ( Kevin?) he kept giving excuses and trying to blame the issue on the online order system that they use, when really if they would have just answered the freaking phone I would have been there to pick up my order! A simple "I apologize, we need to get better at answering calls and figure out what's wrong with our system, we will refund you your money" would have sufficed, but he insisted on placing blame and "investigating with the IT department". Towards the end of our conversation he realized that he wasn't even listening to what I was saying and that I actually did deserve a refund I spent half an hour in there today all because they didn't want to give me $11.09. Every time I come into this location it's always something. The staff is always rude or uninterested. The food is never ready when they say it will be. It's not worth coming here. read more

If there was a way to give no stars I would. The only redeeming quality is the food. The service is the worst I've ever received. They left food off the order and then acted like it was our fault after we have to drive a 20 min trip each way to pick up the food. 2 if our last 3 orders had missing items. The second time I've been to this location and my order has been "lost"... BOTH times they lose an order??? How do you lose an order 100% of the time so far??? You made the food and there was two people in front of me. They said the order never was sent to the back. The person in our group who ordered directly behind us got his order brought right out. This place hasn't even been open 6 months and the menu has already changed and prices have gone up. They don't have nearly as much as the regular Charlie's Basically just a random choice of sandwiches and chicken fingers. The experience is hit or miss. A couple times we've had to have them correct orders before we leave. The food is usually good though. Sometimes the wait times are a little crazy for this type of food. Last time I was in there were 3 people in front of me and we waited about 15-20 minutes for 2 orders of food. read more

I love Charley's but this location sucks! I walked in to young workers with very poor customer service. Didn't greet me at all, instead just looked at me when it was my time to order, smh. My fries was limped and cold, the little bit that they do give you. This was just very disappointing. I will never again go to this location. Only reason I gave it two stars is because I have had great food at Charley's in Polaris, the east broad location makes it taste like a completely different restaurant . We waited 10 mins for our food that was ice cold. Workers were busy playing around in the kitchen. I would rather go across the street to McDonalds than eat this crap again...Save your money and eat somewhere that's going to be worth it. read more

The staff were very friendly, even though I did have to drive to the store after they forgot to give the rest of my food to my Uber eats driver. As soon as I told them the issue they had everything ready in 10 minutes. I will definitely be taking my business and my family of 4 there again. Charley's is back! Charley's used to be attached to a gas station at this location and it was just dreary and not the most inviting place. Since that closing, the only time I have had Charley's was at the airport location. I went into this one today which I believe is its first day open. The line was put the door obviously because it's the opening day but it went pretty fast. The VP Of Marketing for the company was there greeting people in line and handing out samples of their new chicken fingers. The restaurant itself is nice. Clean. Has a sports theme to it. Very nice. I like the food anyway so nothing to comment on here. The food is as good as always. Extremely friendly staff. read more

This is my 3rd time at this location. All 3 times have been horrible. The employees act like they hate their jobs. You have to repeat you're order multiple times and the food is still incorrect. Guess I'll be driving 20 minutes extra for a chicken Philly at Polaris as atleast they have good employees and make your food correctly.
