More like 3.5 stars. They could get 5 if they changed a few things. Their sandwiches are really, really good. I always get the philly deluxe and no cheese. They prepare it pretty quickly. Tastes fresh, not greasy. Things to improve; Don't be so skimpy with the peppers, onions, and mushrooms. These balance the sandwich out, and I paid extra for them. The service isn't much. Young people who don't smile and don't seem to want to be there. And please, keep it comfortable in there. Have been there in the summer, and was way too warm in there. Was there last night, and it was freezing - and I had on a jacket. Also, parking can be tricky in that area due to the closeness of the movie theatre. read more

All I can say is wow!!! I waited in line for over 10 minutes just to order my food while my husband was getting himself some Chipotle. There were 2 girls working there, one of which was taking orders and managing the fries while the other was manning the grille. I had to walk out after waiting so long and the counter girl had just begun taking the families order in front of me. There were maybe 3 people inside who had just gotten their food. I got very annoyed and walked back to the car where my husband was already waiting for me with his dinner. I ended up walking over to Dickies where I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The food was salty and soggy and visually unappealing. They dumped a bunch of wilted, soggy lettuce on my sandwich, even after I asked for no lettuce. They also failed to make the order to go. I would expect this if they were busy, but I was the only customer in the store. The 2 girls working acted mean and stand-offish. Let me start this by saying I used to come here all the time, for lunch, with my buds from work. I decided to go back today as I found my old punch card and it was full. Sadly, things are no longer the same.... The sandwich was still good but they were out of pepper, an absolute necessity on a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. When I told the dude about it, he just lamely said, "Sorry. Guess we're all out of pepper." Really? Seriously? Could you go check in the back? Strike one! If I could give this location a zero I would be more than glad to do. This was our first and last time at this specific location, terrible customer service. Our cashier Jacqueline was very rude. Upon our arrival she seemed very upset, I had asked her a question and she gave me a dirty look and seemed bothered that we were there. She seemed upset with every customer that was arriving. The women's bathroom did not have any soap and I informed the employee and he went to refill it. The cook had an air-pod in which was very unpleasant to see. Upon dining we overheard a customer say his drink tasted like alcohol which was an indication that something was sitting for a while which seemed very concerning. Only been there once, so can't say everything about it. The only thing I order was their teriyaki sandwich and it was so good! It's at the same rank of panera (I love panera!) and I think it's slightly cheaper than panera. It's 5 dollar something for a regular size. Mediocre food for prices comparable to better sandwich places and poor service. I went with two friends. My sub did not come with pickles, though I said yes to picles. My friend's sub did come with picles, though she had requested not to have them. My other friend's sub came with onions, which she had asked not to have. While we were eating, another customer returned his sandwich, because his order was not correct. Women's toilet was also disgustingly dirty! This was our first trip to this location. Worth the drive, awesome service. We went in right before closing and got the best service ever. The location in fashion fair is always hit or miss. We frequent it and have never once been told thank you for coming. The clovis location is our new charleys spot. As for food it is high quality and cooked to order in front of you. Their cheese steak deluxe is amazing and we always add on chedar bacon fries. Keep up the good work guys because it matters greatly to regular customers. read more

I am definitely a fan of the food here. I think the subs are delicious, always hot and fresh off the grill, INCLUDING the fries! And fresh hot fries are always a huge plus. The only reason I choose not to give a full 5 stars however is because the service is not always up to par and the dining area is not always clean either. This is a small store in a great location, so the times I have been there, it has not been so busy that there is a line longer than a few minutes. But yet it seems the staff is too busy to have one person take 5 minutes of their type to sweep the floor or wipe down some sticky tables. Aside from the employees not always having a friendly attitude, there have been multiple occasions where either mine or my friend's food orders have not been correct. This seemed to be because the employee taking our order was rushing and not fully listening to what we were asking for. The only thing that makes up for these flaws is the great food. read more

Charley's has some great subs to satisfy your meat cravings. The food is made in eye's view so that you know it's fresh. The philly chicken is phenomenal, as well as the philly steak. The meat is cooked perfectly, and the bun is lightly toasted to a golden brown, giving the sub a nice crunch.The fries are sub-par, though. But with a little ketchup they taste just fine. The service is okay. The people aren't always welcoming, but they greet you and never get your order wrong. There is seating, and it's nice to go there with one or two other people just for a casual lunch, but nothing fancy. read more

My order took 20 minutes to be done and there was only one customer ahead of me who ordered a sandwich! The old crew members made sandwiches done within 2 minutes. One of my favorite places, a very quality and always freshly made cheese steak great ingredients and enough food to fill you up. Usually go with the small steak with fries comes out to about 5 dollars with a hefty amount of fries. this place is awful. my boyfriend and i came here and when we walked in, the guy working there (black or mixed guy) doesnt even look up at us and proceeds to do whatever he was doing. so as we waited for him, he didnt even give us a "ill be right with you' finally he comes to the register and with a shitty attitude and rushes us to take our order. we get our food and some of our fries were cold and some were hot. so my boyfriend tells the girl (other rude employee) and she doesnt say anything to him, not even a "sorry about that" she snatches the fries from him and starts making a new batch. then when the guy comes out, my boyfriend tells him the fries were cold and he just says "oh". who ever is their manager clearly didnt enforce being polite and taking care of the customer. both employees were sloppy, rude and disgusting and i will never set foot in that dump again. read more

I was so excited when Charley's came to Clovis because there was only one left, the one in Fashion Fair. And when I came in, I was just blown away by the service! The food is great, but come on, they go out of their way to actually take your food out to your tables. The staff is friendly and funny, and they are always careful to ask if they put on the right toppings. Their Philly Chicken is the best sandwich with the all the veggies and the provolone cheese! Food is amazing service is poor, I recently switched jobs to Clovis from Fresno and started taking my lunch breaks at restaurants close to work for my hour lunch break. I'm a fan of the chicken Philly steak with fries combo for $5! I AM NOT A FAN OF THE GIRL WHO TAKES MY ORDER AND MAKES THE FOOD. I'd say I started going to the Clovis location for almost two months. I'd say her name but for her case she doesn't wear a name tag. She has poor customer service skills. She doesn't talk, except for "what can I get you" or "calling for your order when it's ready" she doesn't say thank you, she doesn't smile. When she called for my order there was one other family seated with there food already called out. I didn't see my drink on counter where my food was, when I asked her she just pointed by the register like um it's over there kind of attitude. I won't stop coming back because the food is too good. What I would like to see is an attitude adjustment. I understand everyone is going through something but if you don't like your job, quit so someone with more respect for others would greet your customers with a friendly attitude. read more

Let me start off by saying I've eaten at other Charley's restaurants and thought their sandwiches were very good. So one day my mom was in town and she wanted to take my daughter (who was 2.5 years old) and I to lunch. We walked around this shopping area in Clovis and decided to grab some sandwiches at Charley's. My mom and I both ordered the California Sandwich (which was okay) and my daughter got the chicken tenders and fries. The first bite that my daughter took of one of her chicken tenders, she spit it out and said there's something in there. Upon inspection it was a HUGE CHICKEN BONE! It was about 1 inch by 2 inches. I was shocked and I know some people who would have freaked out that their child could have choked on it. However, I am a very calm person, and simply brought it to the owner's attention. He quickly and forcefully grabbed the tray from my hand and said "I'll throw it away". That was it. He did not offer to give us a refund, he did not apologize for the fact that my daughter could have choked, he did not offer to replace her meal. Nothing. The other woman working there was very sweet and did come over to our table to ask us what happened. When I told her, she immediately asked if she can make my daughter something else. However, the owner interrupted her attempt at good customer service and demanded to meet her in the back. We heard muffled yelling from him. About 5 mins later, they emerged from the back room and neither of them looked at us or talked to us for the rest of our time there. I couldn't believe the lack of decency in this man! I will never frequent this restaurant again. The owner was very inconsiderate and needs to understand that when a child's safety is even remotely in jeopardy because of your food, you apologize and refund the meal AT THE VERY LEAST. I am just thankful that my daughter spit out the bone and didn't choke. I understand that they probably prepare frozen chicken tenders purchased from an outside company and it is probably not their fault. However, the lack of human kindness and customer service IS COMPLETELY THE OWNER'S FAULT. If you take your kids here, DO NOT ORDER THE CHICKEN TENDERS. read more

Was in this restaurant last week. Ordered a regular Philly cheesesteak. First time in this business. The sandwich was very good, fresh bun. This restaurant was NOT clean. The floor was sticky, a red & white cooler behind the cash register had a large ring of dirt around it. This cooler was being used to fill ice into the drink cups. While standing waiting for our order to go I looked up and saw dirt, dust, cobwebs hanging from the TV cables RIGHT OVER THE DRINK MACHINE. Won't be back too dirty.
