Walking in and surveying the crowd, I got the impression this is the type of place men go to get away from their wives for a while. Dark sports bar vibes. The bartender was nice to us and super-attentive. They didn't have any ciders on tap but did have a great selection of cans. I went the beer route with a Soft Parade and my husband had a Guinness. After looking over the menu, we decided to make a little sampler platter (bummer they don't have one on the menu.) Prices were fair; I almost felt like I was transported back to 2019 before The Thing Happened. Food came up quick; we got the chicken fingers with fries and an order of cheese sticks. The chicken fingers were very generic; standard, flat GFS tendies. A little disappointing. It's my understanding (by reading reviews) they used to be better. Fries were cooked perfectly well done. The mozz sticks were lukewarm. Weirdly, their chicken tenders are served with cocktail sauce and sweet and sour by default. We told the bartender we didn't want either but would want BBQ instead. We got charged for the BBQ sauce .___. Not cool. Anyway, like most old bars, this place gets by on nostalgia by regulars. Unless you've been coming here for twenty years, it's probably not gonna blow you away.

Always a good stop for burgers, beer and fun. Lots of TVs to watch the game , gambling machines and more. Staff friendly and fast. Lots of parking lots near by and it's a seat yourself when you arrive

Roast Beef Sandwich. Before the meltdown.

Arrived a bit after 1 PM on a sunny summer Sunday. Maybe a dozen or so patrons there. Champs has a good draft beer selection, though most of the taps were out of order when we went due to some mechanical problem. They also have a large selection of canned/bottled beers, so we got a couple cans of Old Nation Brewing's M-43. My wife got a basic burger and said it was ok. I got the roast beef sandwich, which was a bit of a letdown. They didn't stint on the toppings-plenty of beef and the advertised sauteed veggies--but they really could have done with less of them. The sandwich fell apart when I tried to pick it up. About half of it had slid completly off the bun. Some of the would-be sandwich fillings were actually covered by the potato chips in kind of a reverse loaded potato dish, so the problem started in the kitchen and could have been corrected there. The roast beef came in thick slices, though didn't have a lot of flavor. Some of the grilled onions were quite underdone. Atmosphere-wise, it's a pleasant small town bar. Foodwise, it might not be the best option in the area.

2 scrambled eggs, sliced ham, hash browns well done, as requested, rye toast and coffee.

Curious about this place. I stopped by on a late Thursday morning and ordered breakfast, availabl until 11am...which only allows one hour from their opening time at 10am. I ordered the 2 scrambled eggs, ham, hash browns well done, rye toast breakfast $5.50. It was huge, and I could not finish it. Rye toast was really good with just enough butter. The hash browns are cubed potatoes not shredded, glad I ordered well done so they were a little crispy. Thin slices of ham, huge portion. Enjoyed the coffee. Waitstaff very pleasant.

We've heard legends of the Long Islands at Champs from our friends for years. Finally, the time came for us to try for ourselves. They did not disappoint. One of the best Long Islands I've ever had. Can't believe it was only $12 for top shelf. The waitress was super nice and attentive. The only food we had was curly fries and they were decent. I loved the vibe here, hometown pub where the employees know the locals and treat you like you've been friends for years.

Great food and low key atmosphere. Service is good and we enjoy eating at Champs when in town.

I ordered the venison burger and it was bland and super dry. I recommend trying another item if stopping here.

Our party of 6 arrived about 130 pm. The outdoor seating area was open and bustling. The indoor space was less than half full and we had no wait to get a seat except that no one was at the hostess station. The bartender did greet us and another group relatively quickly but this was the only thing that was quick this visit. Without going into great detail, we were seated for about 10 minutes before a waitress came to the table. We ordered drinks and it took almost 20 minutes for them to start to arrive and 30 minutes to get all 6 drinks. It took over an hour to get food and the entire visit was almost 2 1/2 hours. Mind you this is an upscale bar not a multicourse fine dining establishment. We were told that they were understaffed due to people not showing up but from what I could see they had 2 servers and a bar tender for about 15 active tables. Our waitress, while nice, was inattentive, often leaving us with empty drinks. The food was as good as we have come to expect as were the drinks when we could get them. I will say the chicken tenders my son ordered were over cooked but still tasty. Normally, I would rate this location as 4 stars but not this trip. Again, I hope this was just an off day but service like this again will result in losing our business going forward.

Solan took such great care of us, A+ customer service!! Starting with a cocktail from the fall menu, I absolutely loved my Reese's Old Fashioned! Every dish we tried was delicious. The pan seared walleye was served over gnocchi in a lemon dill sauce - probably the walleye we have ever had, and the gnocchi was fantastic. The center cut blue cheese steak was cooked perfectly, the blue cheese paired so well with the candied bacon. All of desserts were great - crème brûlée, caramel mascarpone cheesecake, and the tiramisu dip - yummy!

Located just outside of the main downtown area, the Canopy Lounge is hidden in the back of a parking lot. It's a well-kept secret, but one worth sharing. The ambiance is like a cozy sports bar with a rustic twist. There are several options for seating (high top tables, bar in the back, and a lounge-type area up front with a sofa and some easy chairs. We decided to sit in the lounge type area and took advantage of the happy hour specials. We did an order of mussels and fries for the adults, macaroni and cheese for the kiddos (one order split 2 ways, which was more than enough for them). Food was tasty and the happy hour drinks hit the spot all the way around. Our server did a fantastic job of making sure that our waters stayed filled and of bringing our food promptly. There were a number of interesting options on the menu, including venison chili and backstrap, as well as Korean BBQ duck. We bookmarked those to try for next time!
