First time at this restaurant as was quite happy with my Barbecue Chicken pizza. The pizza was well made with a nicely browned crust where the toppings really stood out on this pizza, in particular the pulled smoked chicken which added a very nice and noticeable smoked note to this pizza which I really enjoyed. Aside form the pizza, I got an old fashion from the bar which was well made and tasty in its own right at a very reasonable price of $8 which borders on a steal in my book. Relative to the restaurant it is quite large with ample seating and a slew of TV's strategically scattered about to allow you to watch the big game which we did on this occasion watching UConn score an amazing comeback win against Duke in an Elite 8 game. NICE! The game and the food alone made for a memorable and enjoyable dining experience for sure. Staff is super friendly with great follow up and was another big plus for us. Overall a great place to grab a bite to eat, in particular their pizza, especially if there is a big game on TV. We will definately be coming here again iin the not to distant future. read more

Not bad, just overpowering with queso and hard to discern other flavors. The smoked turkey was great. Prices were a bit high. $15-20 for a burger with one side. Beer selection was great! This is for the Brighton restaurant. Our neighborhood likes to gather here and I know it's very hard work for servers to have all these different couples walking in at different times and running all these tabs per couple but they are so nice and accommodating - just wonderful, cheerful people. We've also been to the one in Howell but just the two of us and it's always a nice time. I have no complaints. It's not technically a five star restaurant but I base my reviews on what it is, not comparing it to other restaurants and it's always a pleasant time. read more

The nachos with pulled pork are pretty tasty. A meal in itself. The chili was really good again a meal in itself. The big block burger is hard to beat. I wasn't a big fan of the fries. My first experience here wasn't the best. Food was ok, service was ok. Today was different. We had a great server. Naturally I forgot her name. I feel like it was Tiffany. She was very friendly. Made a great mead recommendation based on beers I like. I had never had pizza at Block before. It was just how I like it! The personal is definitely more than enough for one person. Probably big enough for two. Lots of cheese and not too over powered by sauce. They use fresh mushrooms. Good stuff! I love the Razzle Dazzle. A fruit beer that goes down nice and smooth. For anyone who isn't a beer drinker, I highly recommend it! The restaurant was very clean. Floors even washed. I witnessed the hostess thoroughly wipe down as customers left. All staff had on masks. I do believe they all had in gloves too. Patrons were at least 6 feet apart from other parties. I felt more comfortable there than at the grocery store! This place had an incredible and tasty array of beer, but what really stood out was the best BBQ Chicken Pizza I've ever eaten. We arrived to celebrate a birthday at 5:50... by 6 :20 our party had arrived and we placed our order, there were nine of us. At 7:40 we still had not received our food. At 7:20 my daughter asked that they bring food for the three-year-olds but that never happened. We were told that there were only two cooks and that they were doing the best they could, however we observed that many tables around us that arrived at the same time or after us were served and many had left. At one point, my daughter, very kindly said to the manager that if we didn't get some food for the babies, we were going to have to leave to which she replied bye-bye. As we were leaving after one hour and 35 minutes with no food ,we were told we would have to pay for our drinks, but we just walked out. We have never experienced such a disarray or mismanagement of a restaurant in all of our days and the celebration was for a 74 year-old so we're not youngsters. We have been to Blocks in HOWELL on multiple occasions, and the food was very good , the service was as well. We will never be going back to the Blocks in Brighton. The manager should never have been disrespectful to my daughter nor to any one in our party, regardless of the situation with her staff or lack there of. The birthday celebration ended up moving to McDonald's because at that point it was 8 PM and we had small children. read more

Tried this place for the first time yesterday after driving past it a handful of times & never stopping in-- So glad we did! I'm a hard cider drinker, and they don't brew their own, but they offer "guest taps" which featured Vander Mill's "Totally Roasted" cider. It was great!! My fiancé got a flight and loved all four pours. There is an extensive list of brews to choose from, so there is definitely something for everyone. Their food menu is everything you'd want a brewery to offer-- BBQ, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, mac & cheese, and unique salads. We split an order of "Block Fries" which I will now crave for the rest of my life-- Hand-cut fries with shaved parmesan, cracked pepper, and garlic aioli dip (insert drooling face here). Then the BBQ Chicken Pizza came & we annihilated it! Smoked chicken and bacon on anything is pretty much fantastic, and this was a win! Large bar, tons of seating (indoor and outdoor), cool vibes, clean restrooms, friendly/accommodating waitstaff. This will definitely be a brewery we visit regularly from here on out. We frequent your brewery to play trivia. The service is terrible. The waitress if you even have one never picks up the dirty dishes, the food is spotty at best. I ordered a hamburger the other day and the french fries were so over done and hard I couldn't eat them, and I had ordered it med. well. It was more like med rare. And don't ask why I didn't send them back. That would have meant that I could find our waitress. It is a bit better than it used to be, but far from satisfactory. I spent the better years of my employment in the hospitality industry. Anywhere from manager, waitress and bartender. The last 10 years with Marriott so I know how this works. (I'm from Texas I know brisket) Catfish was good too. Green beans cooked right and the coleslaw was classic. Nicole was our waitress, she was very helpful. she made sure to point us in the right direction with the flights. Megan came and touched on a table as well. She was simply a doll. My first visit will also be my last. I ordered the Big Block burger for a to-go meal. It is advertised as "Over a full pound of meat!" With 100% angus beef patty, brisket, bacon, cheddar cheese, and 2 onion rings on a brioche bun. My carry out order was ready as promised (15 min) so that part was great! But when I got home, it looked like someone had thrown the burger into the container from across the room. The burger patty was incredibly small (not much more than slider size) and there was ZERO brisket. Not ANYWHERE near the advertised pound+ of meat. For the price of this burger, I feel horribly ripped off. Keeping this from being a one star review is the fact that the onion rings were fantastic and the fries were decent. read more

Today our party was blamed for something we couldn't handle. Our party was made one week prior to arrival. During our time here we came in knowing and expecting it to be short staffed. What we didn't expect was the rude and unprofessional response of it from the manager named Sabrina. After waiting an hour and a half with no communication for an appetizer we declined to have it after it came in burnt. When we told the manager about this she decided to was find to call my father entitled which was completely unnecessary after waiting an hour and a half. After everyone had left I told the manager she didn't have a right to talk to someone like that. Sabrina told me I didn't have a right to make the servers cry. First off, as a manager of your staff can't handle 15 people that called ahead, maybe you should help or have someone else come over that can. She then told me that the costumers aren't always right which made me giggle because neither are the managers. It was surprising to say the least that someone couldn't just communicate instead of being disrespectful to a group of people who wanted to just celebrate a birthday. I own a business near by and we have come to this location to celebrate different occasions multiple times. After today, none of my students or staff would like to come back. Calling someone names like a child will never solve anything, I learned that in elementary school. read more

To say the service was bad would be an understatement. 30 minutes to get a draft beer. our group was at the table for two hours and we were never ask for a second drink. The food was burnt and served in fits and spurs over an hour and a half. when I told the waitress that I didn't want my burnt pretzel crusty soft pretzel she brought the manager who proceeded to chastise me about not being entitled and stomped off making a scene in the restaurant. Their BBQ is excellent. I usually order their brisket or ribs and have never been disappointed. The Smokehouse Meats pizza is also a favorite. It's a large place with plenty of seating. Went there to drink a beer or two. I am pretty picky on what I like. Bartender, Stephanie, was beyond awesome with helping me try various beers and helped with several recommendations. I found my favorite... although it's a seasonal brew... was still impressed with the taste. There are so many choices so I have a lot to try. I decided to order a salad. Lettuce was fresh and it wasn't saturated with dressing like you would find at other places. Atmosphere looks pretty similar to Memories. It was a little dark then and still is but that's something that can't be easily changed. Bartender was attentive and she made sure I was well taken care of. This was my first visit and wasn't sure of what to expect but I was surprised with the quality of the food as the food with Memories wasn't the greatest.
