Usually, choices are slim, mostly fast food. Today we were lucky, Eternity Brewking was open until 6 p.m. I dropped the idea of doing yoga and we got our butts to the place since it was 5 p.m. We kike it a lot. Service was excellent, Kylie (?) was fantastic, friendly, funny, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. She was great with all the customers. The space is open, simple, and comfortable promoting a welcoming atmosphere. Few items on the menu, are simple, and tasty. I had grilled cheese with one of the best tomato soups I had in a long time, great combo. Plenty of gooey yummy cheese and toasted crispy bread I washed that down with a flight of very interesting beers. The one that took me by surprise is When Life Gives You Blueberries. Deceiving and sneaky. My nose thought I was going to drink wine and my taste buds were surprised with the tart-sour taste nothing like a beer. My husband had the chili dog and enjoyed it very much. Aside form the pizza, I got an old fashion from the bar which was well made and tasty in its own right at a very reasonable price of $8 which borders on a steal in my book. Relative to the restaurant it is quite large with ample seating and a slew of TV's strategically scattered about to allow you to watch the big game which we did on this occasion watching UConn score an amazing comeback win against Duke in an Elite 8 game. NICE! The game and the food alone made for a memorable and enjoyable dining experience for sure. Staff is super friendly with great follow up and was another big plus for us. Overall a great place to grab a bite to eat, in particular their pizza, especially if there is a big game on TV. We will definately be coming here again iin the not to distant future.

We had water within a minute of sitting down. Our order was very fast. Easily within 10 minutes. Very impressive! I loved the southern fried chicken with the mashed sweet potatoes. Their cornbread was so moist and had a nice flavor. The breading on the chicken was perfectly cooked and had a nice sweet flavor. We decided on the bread pudding for dessert which was easily a shareable item. So much flavor and wasn't too overly sweet with the candied pecans and sweet drizzle topping. For informational purposes, they use beef tallow in their fryer, which eliminates a lot of the menu for me.

Downtown, tucked behind Coney Joe's, Canopy has a little of everything and when you walk in it seems like a lot of specialty bottles are at your fingertips just to pique your interest. I came to peruse and left with a new bourbon that the owner recommended as something I'd like more than Blanton's. Big words! We'll see if he was right but as for his store, it was wall to wall stocked with great finds. A great beer wall, racks of wine and an entire wall of booze. I saw a lot of new faces I'd love to try so I'll definitely be back.

In the past they were always very good. The waitress was not good not rude just not very attentive. We will try them one more time to see if this was a fluke.I'm only saying this for the managers sake. We were there 6/10 Wednesday night.
