Oh yea I one fan. Customer service was excellent, food was excellent. Nice and well maintained outside, look for the maroon color painted establishment. They have a front seating area has open windows to view the street area and a back area with little windows but there have room to sit a lot of people. Lots of parking. From what we had they made some solid Mexican food. It seemed like all of their plates come out so hot that they use another plate on the bottom. They warned use about it being hot and of course I had to test that, slightly burned my arm trying to reach for some salsa across the table. The Carne Asada Burro was smaller than I'm accustomed to but I wasn't really trying to feel my belly. I was able to clear my plate and not feel like I had to waddle out. I liked that the tortilla firm and crisp, it kept the filling from pouring out which I always like. They'll serve some complimentary chips and salsa. There was 2 different salsa one kind of mild and there other hot. I stopped in for lunch today after sleeping late in my hotel. I needed a good meal as I was driving 3 hours south to Saguaro NP East. I was greeted immediately by Dominique and she brought me water and chips and salsa. The salsa was very mild and chips appear to be homemade. Chris came over and I ordered a chicken relleno with beans, rice, and milk. Huge serving and super cheesy. Beans were good with beef in them and the rice was on top of the beans. This restaurant is great! We take trips from Phoenix up to Globe just for their Mexican food. It is from the same family that has many other restaurants like on Mammoth, Show Low, and one in Mesa. There are many Mexican restaurants in town and all of them are unique in their own way. I love Chalo's personally because the rice and beans. Very different from other restaurants in town. I got myself a bean burro with a side of rice. My meal was ready within 15-20 minutes. Hot and fresh, I highly recommend visiting if your ever in the area. read more

The food was average. Service is really good, but there were crumbs of food on some of the booths and the floor in dining area needed to be swept. We're from Tucson, and this definitely isn't Casa Molina, but we're willing to try again and order ala cart. I had beef taco, cheese enchilada, tamale. Tamale was bland as heck. I was disappointed. First off the food is always amazing and SUPER delicious and the ladies who work here are SOOOO sweet and friendly. Customer service is literally a 10/10, I've seen other tables have complaints and the workers always do their beer to make it right! Any time i visit home and come though globe Chalo's is always my first stop! Would highly recommend this place to anyone! Also remember that humans aren't perfect, we can make mistakes and customer service can be really difficult because the public can be assholes! My husband and I LOVE Chalo's! We've never been disappointed with any of the food there and we've eaten there several times! Hubby likes to go when Tiffany is working so they can chat and laugh about "Tiffany's Tantalizing Tacos" ha ha! They crack me! Now we know she works on weekday/afternoons most often. Last night I ordered the Chicken Taquito plate, I love taquitos and am picky about how they are made. They were SO good! I cleaned my plate! Hubby ordered the Tamale, Taco, Enchilada trio and was not disappointed at all, although he needed a to-go box, it was A LOT of food! YUM! Everything about our experience here was great! We were greeted immediately upon entering and seated right away. Tiffany was our server and she was awesome throughout our lunch. They have amazing lunch specials. Very good prices. And the food was SO delicious!!! Tiffany brought us some samples of their homemade green pork and red beef chili. Both of them were to die for!! Decent Sonoran style Mexican, at rock bottom prices. The lunch specials include a lot of food for $6, with iced tea included in the price. I had the enchilada/taco lunch special and tried some of the burro meal. The enchilada was all cheese, nothing special. The taco had a nice crispy shell with shredded beef inside. Rice and beans were included. The green burro was just OK, but it did include a lot of cubed pork with green chile sauce. Service was friendly, and our meals came out quickly, so it's a good choice for those that are short on time for lunch. read more

I stopped in to pick up takeout based on the reviews. I don't know if that makes a difference but I feel it shouldn't. I had the number 7. Rice, beans, taco, cheese enchilada and Chile relleno. That had to be the worst Chile relleno I've ever had. It tasted horrible. I couldn't even eat it. It was sour. Maybe the cheese I don't know, but I had to spit it out. I had a 5 minute drive to where I stopped to eat so no it didn't sit in the car. The enchilada was ok, but the meat in the taco was bland and tough. I will not be going here again. My husband has been non stop talking about this place since he ate here last. We went for a drive over the weekend, and ended up in Globe, Arizona. I wanted to see what all the talk was about. I was a little worried from the outside appearance of the building, and figured I would give it a try. The inside is nothing to fall in love with, but let's move past that, and talk about what's really important, the food. Omg, I was in love with my chimichanga and rice. My chicken literally was so tender, and juicy it melted into my mouth. I savored every bite and to my surprise, I ate everything on my plate. We sampled the mild green chili and it was delicious too. Chips and salsa were yummy, everything tasted fresh and from scratch. I took green chili home to Phoenix. Definitely going back, I loved it. First and last time! Food was horrible! Chili relleno served with no sauce whatsoever and tasted like rancid oil, refried beans from a can and margaritas tasted also like the canned cheap stuff! Every time I head up to Globe I drive past Chalo's and have never thought about stopping in, but for some reason we were compelled to go this past weekend for a late dinner. The restaurant is outdated, the booth I was sitting in was pretty broken and sunken. I have to admit my expectations were rather low for the food. You already know the ending to this story though, because I have obviously given them 5 stars. ;) When we were seated we were brought two kinds of homemade salsa: one spicy and one not spicy. We were also brought a big bowl of chips. The spicy salsa was actually really spicy, in the best possible way. It had so much flavor and had a great kick. The chips were a mix of corn flour tortilla chips and flour tortilla chips. They were extremely fresh and SO DELICIOUS. I don't know exactly why but they were very different than normal chips and I couldn't get enough of the crispy flour ones. They weren't greasy at all. The more mild salsa was also a total surprise. The texture was a little chunkier than the spicy salsa and the flavors were so profound, we ate our entire bowl of chips and both salsas. For dinner I ordered the Navajo taco, which is a fry bread bowl filled with refried beans, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and salsa. I am a sucker for fry bread, I don't eat it very often but it's just so good. When my bowl was brought out I wasn't expecting it to be so big, but it was a very generous bowl-shaped portion of fry bread. I tore a piece from the edge and it was super hot and I was surprised it was SO LIGHT AND FLUFFY. It melted in my mouth, and was not greasy at all. I don't know how they performed this magic but this was one of the best meals I have had in quite awhile. The flavors were insanely good, and even though the portion was very large the food was quality and real, and so it didn't feel like a heavy meal. My husband ordered the machaca chimichanga and I was so busy eating my Navajo taco I only took one bite of his dish, but it was melt-in-my-mouth delicious as well. He scraped his plate clean and raved the entire time he was eating about how delicious it was. I was in Globe for three full days and we ended up visiting Chalo's again and ordering a repeat of this entire meal because it was just so good I couldn't stop thinking about it. This has become my new staple spot for when I'm in town, which unfortunately isn't as frequently as I want to be now that I've found Chalo's! OH and our server, ChaCha, was amazing. I have to go to Globe once a month for work. I will need to find somewhere else to eat! This really wasn't good. The beans for starters were really runny. The salsa was really good but you can't seem to get them to bring you more and they give you a tiny bit. I really like the flour chips but that didn't make up for the rest of the food. The chimi was soggy and the green chili was eh. I was not impressed and was really hoping for a lot better food and service. They have some really good reviews so maybe it was just a bad day. They were not that busy so I don't think it was that. May give it one more try. read more

I know a few people who love Chalo's, but I always feel sick after I eat there. Plus, the food doesn't taste all that great and, in a town full of Mexican food restaurants, there are many better places to eat. If you do end up going to Chalo's,which I strongly suggest you go somewhere else instead, you should should try the fried ice cream. It is the only worth while item on their menu. read more

While Driving through Globe found this place on Yelp. It is really good Mexican food. Not your mass produced tasteless chain Mexican. The servers were friendly and attentive. They even offered tastes of the red and green chili both of which are awesome. The restaurant had a home feel wit a lot of hugging going with obviously regular customers.
